chester county. sources say that the investigation has been underway for over a week now, and after a student came forward, and complained he had been a assaulted during one of the hazing incident and possibly injured. sources tell cbs-3 that chester county detectives and local police are now investigating, alleged hazing incidents, involving primarily football players, at conestoga a high school. the sources indicate, that teams of detectives have visited the main line high school, and are in the process of interviewing, as many as 60 or 70 students, in connection, with an alleged assault, during the hazings which may have injured at least one student. sources tell cbs-3, that the investigation, now centers on allegations, of possible ritual hazing among football team members that occurred on the same day every week. a day that sources say, on which some students told

detectives, that they deliberate thely avoided going to the the gym, at certain times. sources tell cbs-3 that as of right now no students have been criminally charged in the investigation, and no charges have been discipline by school officials. tredyffrin easttown school officials contacted by cbs-3 referred all inquiries to the the district attorney here in west chester, the district attorney's office, now, declines comment. sources say the investigation is moving for and a additional information may be made available publicly, a at some point next week. live from west chester i'm walt hunter for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" good thank you walt. a 12 year-old boy dies trying to save his father from a burning house. fire fighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames just before 9:00 this morning. he was proud to play on the norristown youth eagles foot the ball team. we will have much more on this young hero on "eyewitness news" at 6:00 o'clock. 90-foot tree crashes through a delaware county home killing a woman and trapping her husband as they slept. that tree, tore through the roof of the home on the 200 block of james road in broomall, "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh has more on the tragedy that his left neighbors stun. >> reporter: this quiet the tree lined broomall neighborhood, woke up to tragedy, friday morning. >> freak accident. >> reporter: allen and maryah couper were likely asleep when a tree crashed through the roof of their james road homes. 90-foot tree crossed over the pool in the backyard and directly into the back bedroom of this home, and pinning the couple underneath. marjay, who is 77, didn't survive but we're told her husband allen who is 79 held her hand until crews were able to free them. rescue effort took more than an hour. >> we have a very slow, pulled the tree off while still a a alive so it work out thank god

>> moving fast now, dropping real quick. >> reporter: eyewitness video captured friday morning's collapse of the huge construction crane on the machine hat on street. wreckage crush cars and scattered deburied along an entire city block. >> you heard the boom and then windows and i see a crane falling on the street. >> reporter: crane fell along a street in the cities tribeca neighborhood around ten blocks north of the world trade center. several buildings were damaged as the the crane fell to the ground. this counter weight landed on a december income a nearby office building. a snow squall was passing through at the time and cities mayor says crew where is working to secure the crane. >> it was being moved into a secure position because by the manufacturer's instructions as winds topped 20 miles an hour. >> reporter: crane which was as tall as a 56 story building was here on site for about a week, as a result, of this accident, the mayor has ordered all 409 cranes

the manhunt for a missouri couple called modern day bonnie and clyde comes to a dramatic end with a wild police chase and shoot-out. blake fitzgerald was killed and brittany harper was wounded earlier this morning, near pensacola, florida. police say the man used his girlfriend as a human shield from bullets when they were cornered. the couple was wanted in connection to the series of robberies and abduction as cross four states. now to some viral video from the pittsburgh area of an ostrich rescue, zoo keepers a at pittsburgh zoo tried to lure ostrich out of the icy water using some poles but no luck there. so when one zoo keeper got in the water with the ostrich and pushed it toward dry ground. >> the ice kind of prevented her from going back the whole way and when she hit it, kind of freaked her out a little

snow that clung to branches, stop signs and cars and now it is really melting. the a as we look live on our campbell's feel camera we have the sunset in progress right now, center city looking beautiful at the moment, pretty quiet rye now, windy, making it feel colder then thermometer indicates. a lot of sun through the afternoon and temperatures in the the 40's, that snow melting off those trees. if you take a picture it is really gonna cross most of the area right now. another great sunset shot from our live neighborhood network at palmyra cove nature park, we will see the sun just dipping below horizon and the sky line in the distance 38 degrees there. this beautiful shot showing some snow, at kutztown area middle school, still some snow on the ground from the last storm and snow from earlier today, it is 35 degrees there the at the moment. but really this storm its done with us. it came through overnight started as rain, milk with sleet and then change over to snow overnight. now you can see still snowing over portions of coastal massachusetts. they got worst of this system with snow really clinging to the roads.

for us road mainly stayed wet for portions of coastal new jersey up in to ocean county as we said yesterday, some spots did get close to 6 inches of snow and that led to a little will bit more of a problem. from this photo courtney katz sent in from this morning cherry hill new jersey roads did have snow on them. snow was that heavy wet variety and with the traffic it melted out pretty quickly. most of the roads stayed dry but you can see on you had wet snow is clinging to the tree branches this morning. how much snow fell in philadelphia 1.2 inches, total, well within our range of coat to go 2 inches. the seasonal total new 24.1 inches, slightly above normal. two 2.4 is our normal. we are at just over 2 feet of snow, on the winter and we still have all of february, and march to get through. winter is not through with us just yet. we could be add to go that total a bit early next week. temperatures right now still warm enough that snow is continuing to melt. 42 degrees in philadelphia 38 in reading. forty in wilmington. 38 degrees in wildwood. feels colder with the wind.

washington. i'm jessica dean. now that the whole family is out of the hospital the real healing begins at home. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco has the story. >> after surgery and with two screws and rod in her head five-year old caitlin is home from the hospital reunited with her sisters and talking about the hit and run that left her with the broken leg. >> then he hurt my leg. >> reporter: were you scared? >> we can get through anything. >> reporter: her family calls her tiger because she's so strong. surveillance video shows the horrific scene on broad and dickinson street in south philadelphia. caitlin was crossing with her mom, stephanie and four year-old sister on her way to a doctor's appointment. >> i remember him crossing the street, and my daughter got hit and i woke up in the hospital and my mom was saying stephanie, you are in the hospital. i had tubes in my throat. >> reporter: mom stephanie

suffered head injuries and remains bruised. while waiting for help she could not talk so she said caitlin was able to tell strangers who they were. >> she was in pain but she went through it. she told these people my name is caitlin. this is my little sister, this is my mom. >> reporter: police are looking for later model red honda a accord with the missing side mirror. the family would like to see the driver turn themselves in. >> i could have been gone. >> reporter: police are still looking for this driver. family has offered a reward for information leading to an arrest, anyone with any information is asked to call police. in south philadelphia, i'm diana rocco for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". philadelphia rapper meek mill will serve three months of house arrest for violating probation. twenty-eight year-old, real name is robert williams was sentenced to day. judge ordered another six years of probation. williams ignored travel restrictions and other rules set by a judge after a drug

and gun convictions in 2009. his violations including unapproved travels to new york and efforts to join his girlfriend nicki minaj in various cities. pennsylvania supreme court rejects attorney general kathleen kane's request to restore her suspended law license. the high court ruling now, is taking next steps toward removing her from office. kane's law license was suspended last fall as she fights criminal charge that he is she leak secret grand jury information and then lied about it under oath. the presidential candidates are gearing up for the last weekend of campaigning before the new hampshire primary. voters are attending the many campaign events to decide who they will vok for, in tuesday's primary. candidates take not take votes for granted here. one-third of the likely voters have still not pick a candidate. >> i think voters are trying to decide am i more angry do i want to registered my disconsent to the parties or who do i want to be president. >> the republican presidential
