the denver broncos. thank you for joining us. this week all eyes have been on santa clara where the game will be played. now, here is a look at the super bowl city, that's where folks have been getting the full experience leading up to tomorrow's big showdown and the excitement is continuing to build by the hour. we've got live team coverage for you and we begin tonight with sports director don bell in san francisco, so, don, the game may not be until tomorrow but the nfl will be drowning an m.v.p. tonight, right? >> reporter: that is right. good evening, it is a huge night here in san francisco for the national football league. we are at the nfl honors ceremony. we are at the red carpet event right now and we'll try to give you a little bit of a look at what's going on. there are a lot of dignitaries and celebrities expected to come down the red carpet, vince vaughn, liam hemsworth,

this is all prep that's been going on for several days. we'll talk to pete right now. this is a 13 year tradition and how many people are you expecting tomorrow at your ho em? >> well, it's our 13th year and we expect about 130, 130 people or so. >> reporter: 130 people and you told me he a little while ago that just in case you've cooked for a bit more than that and this isn't catered. this isn't a super bowl wing catering situation. what's going on in your kitchen. >> we do this every year so we expect about 130 people, that's what we get every year. what we have going on here is renee my daughter is making the shrimp at this time, we're probably making 200 shrimp. nick is cutting up the garlic for the broccoli rabe over there. my wife trish who is behind the cooking has on the stove 8 gallons of gravy, 450 meat balls. we have chili cooking, we have 20 pounds and we will be ready

to rock tomorrow. >> reporter: how many meatballs say that again. >> 450 meatballs. she rolled everyone by hand. she was the meatball winner delaware county for the best meatballs. >> reporter: this grew. how do you get to the level where you are cooking for 150 people. >> over the years word has spread and people say we heard you have a fabulous party and the food there is fabulous so we just invite more people every year then show up and so we're just so excited to have everybody come every year went love doing this. >> reporter: i think this is the part that really impressed me about this house. we're going to walk over here now. of course they have the drinks, everything is lined up getting ready, cooking started on friday but wait a minute. we have to go over here to this side. this is where the magic is obviously going happen tomorrow, game day magic there, we are over there don't be distracted super bowl cbs3. this room, though, this

>> a little chilly outlets check in with lauren casey on our forecast. lauren. >> thanks, natasha. it was a chilly day today but a quiet day to kick off the weekend. tomorrow quiet conditions more sunshine and temperatures a little bit more mild as we head into the afternoon and then we get busier as we led he into next week. rain and snow possible monday, tuesday and possibly even into wednesday and then dealing with a cold week next week with a big arctic blast especially settling in for the second half of the week but temperatures right now chilly. 39 degrees. we topped at 43 which is around average for us in philadelphia. temperatures in the mid to upper 30's in the lehigh valley. same case down the shore. wind speeds are calm to light but do notice that streamline pulling out of the south and southerly component to our wind flow will bring us milder air tomorrow. tonight chilly but not too bad. mostly clear, light winds so

not too much of a wind chill impact. tomorrow wind speeds stay light through the day, a good amount of sunshine, 48 degrees the high so that puts us over 5 degrees above our average high by tomorrow afternoon. storm scan3 showing us patchy clouds. otherwise quiet across the region but down to our south is a lot of moisture moving over the florida pens la. this is a stalled out frontal boundary which will turn into a coastal low that will be affecting us as we head into the first half of next week so the impacts of two systems that coastal low and then a secondary low that's going drop out of canada. models are very inconsistent at this point but what it looks like monday, tuesday and possibly even into the first half of wednesday periods of rain and snow looking likely and then that arctic air building in on tuesday and sticking around for the second half of the week. accumulations as far as snowfall is concerned are really still up in the air but this does not look like a major snowfall event for us but we could see a few inches but that would be spread out over period of days but of

course we'll fine tune that forecast over the next several days but we know arctic air is going to be building in. the jet stream making a big dip as we head into the second half of the week next week with this nice black hole, this cold air building in as we head especially into friday and saturday. some bitter arctic air that is really going have our temperatures take a big tumble but the big event tomorrow, the super bowl and looks like a beautiful day in santa clara california mostly sunny conditions and temperature in the middle 60's and here in the delaware valley a nice day as well, mostly sunny, 48 degrees, those light winds and then on monday 42 degrees and that's where the drop-off begins. highs only in the 30's starting on tuesday and extending all the way into the end of the week. some light rain and snow again models differing on star time on -- start time on monday some bringing it in the morning, some later in the day. looks like periods of snow kind of off and on light in nature on tuesday and maybe even still a few snow showers into wednesday. again we'll fine tune as far

>> reporter: well thank you don. enjoy the festivities. back near philadelphia we had some afternoon hockey with the division rival rangers in town to battle the flyers and the orange and black they were likely kicking themselves after this one we pick it up midway through the first and wayne simmonds get cross-checked in the head by ryan mcdonough. he would retaliate way shot to the jaw and simmonds is the one who gets a game misconduct, not mcdonough. he was done for the day. needless to say he was not very happy about that. wayne would sit but shane would core. this is shayne gostisbehere on the power play he find as whole lieu henrik lundquist. his ninth already. ryan white thought he had the first goal of the game. he would give the flyers a 21 lead in the third. rangers with the extra man, keith yan. e ties it up.
