this morning in the after afternoon. we will get temperatures backup above average. through go storm scan three is nice, quiet, there are cloud streaming in across southern delaware right now. is there a storm over the carolinas that will head out to sea but could in clouds along coastal area. morning temperatures, chilly 20's and 30's. we're talking lower 40's with mostly sunny skies and mid afternoon high temperatures, close to 50 around philadelphia. going with 49. average high 42 at the shore. mid 40's, poconos, upper 30's. for workweek we're talking about snow in the forecast, mainly monday night into tuesday, timing it out in just a few minutes, rahel and jim, back to you. >> hopefully nothing too bad, thanks. it is a day football lovers have been waiting for it is super bowl sunday and kick off is right here on cbs-3. right now we are just over 11 hours until the big game. >> lets take a live look at lee sly stadium in santa clara california, it is still dark

only 4:00 a a.m. local time. in hours it will be pack with fans for super bowl 50. and the nfl celebrating stars of the past and present at annual nfl honors. cbs-3 sports director don bell on the red carpet for all of the action and tells us about a big win for a player who is already in the super bowl spotlight. >> just a few miles from where i'm standing right here in downtown san francisco, and it was made official cam newton is 2015 nfl mvp and he hauled in 48 of the 501st place votes. bee comes first carolina panter to win the award and first black quarterback to win out read. he had a career high 35 touchdown tosses to go with ten rushing touchdowns. he didn't attend the ceremony because he says he has some business to he take care of in san jose as they get set today. i did talk to a couple nfl grates about cam himself. >> this kid has had one heck of a year, 15-one.

"eyewitness sports". don bell has been working hard. hopefully he is eating well. >> yes, hopefully. >> turkey, cheese, lettuce and rolls, sund like making of the super bowl feast to me. >> local students are transforming ingredients to help their community, cherry greg from our sister station kyw news radio is live from mullica where volunteers have just begun to make nearly a thousand hoagies, cherry. >> good morning, jim, rahel i'm here at clear view high school where the hype is about to begin. 200 volunteers have come and gathered in their school auditorium and about to take place. this pep rally is to get volunteers ready to make over a thousand hoagies, all for a good cause, and i'm here with christine booth a teacher here and she helped organize this with student, other teachers, tell me hoagies for hope what is it all about. >> it is a chance to give back to the community, help students that are facing

severe medical issues as well as financial crisis, as a result of those medical issues. >> now you use the super bowl to bring the family together, what will you be doing today today we will be making 1600 hoagies, italian, turkey, buffalo chicken and helping to make a better, and easier for these families. >> reporter: so you have 200 volunteers and two waves, so a total of 400 volunteers. assembly line style, so, how much money are you trying to raise. >> last year we raised 0,000. so we're hoping to raise more than that. that is our goal to do better than last year. >> reporter: they will be taking a moment of silence today. they lost zach, who graduated from 2013 i understand and was recipient of the previous award that you have raised money you raised at hoagies for hope. >> zach is a previously recipient and he lost his battle to brain cans they are past december. so this morning we want to have a moment of silence for him and pay our respects to

him and his mother. >> reporter: but, very positive, all of the student i have spoken to say this is a family that everybody who comes here at clear view is a family and that is why they are here and they will be preparing hoagies for hope. they will be actually for sale beginning at 10:00 o'clock but first come, first serve 2:00 o'clock when it is all over, all about hoagies for hope, there on facebook, twitter, all that kind of stuff all morning but this ace a lot of fun because it is also super bowl. >> even though we are helping people that aren't having the best situation we try to make the most while together and about working together and coming together as a family and having fun at the same time. >> definitely. >> i cannot then live shot without talking about who you are routeing for the super bowl tonight, who is the team. >> i'm going with the broncos. >> oh, man. >> it is all good though because this is for a good cause, again hoagies for hope, all of the hoagies, there will be 200 hoagies for sale at 10:00 o'clock here at clear

start making sandwiches, jim and rahel. good morning. i'm here at clear view high school. i'm with ann. here she is the bread lady. alberto over here is a rapper, hoagie style. we are about to get underway. it is all part of the hoagies for hope initiative where they will be making more than a thousand hoagies, all for a good cause to help individuals who are affiliated with the will school who are battling life threatening illnesses and all in time for the super bowl. >> yes, that is right. go panthers. >> this is a panthers table. ann will break this down. how does this work. >> so we start by opening up the roll and then we have instructions on how many pieces of cheese, how many pieces of meat and then the lettuce and only four for mate owes guys. we don't have a lot of tomatoes this year. >> no more than four tomatoes. ann is bread lady. we have cheese girl over here, do my job. >> yes, i am's ready.

now turning to other news rescuers believe as many as 124 people, may still be trapped in the building that collapsed during an earthquake in southern taiwan. the 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit yesterday, a high rise residential complex, buckled during the quake killing 22 people. hundreds of people, and this puppy have been rescued from the ruble. there are 24 confirmed deaths so far. work crewness new york city, began slicing up that crane that came crashing down on the street on friday. one person was killed, three others were injured as the 565-g lowered during strong winds. officials say it could be weeks before they know exactly what caused the collapse. manhattan street will be cleared of debris by tomorrow morning. well, local stars hit the hardwood in west philadelphia a to raise money for a good cause. take a look, recognize that guy there? that is our ukee washington showing off his basketball skills. he was joined by mo'ne davis,
