spoken. donald trump dominates and bernie sanders easily cruises past hillary clinton in the first of the nation's primaries. our rahel solomon is live with a complete wrap up of the night's big news. the zika virus makes its way into our region. where health officials are confirming cases of the virus and why one local doctor says zika matters to everyone. and the heaviest snow is moving out of the region but lingering snowflakes could still be falling through the night. the concern now icy spots for the morning commute. good evening, everyone, i'm ukee washington. >> hi, every eighty one, i'm jessica dean much this latest winter storm brought us on and off snow and it's not over just yet. >> let's get to meteorologist kate bilo. kate, what's happening right now? >> well ukee and jessica, the snow is finally starting to move out but as you said it was on and off all day. you can see on this camera this is a time lapse in chester springs. all day just light snow coming down on and off especially heavy in the afternoon and evening as we told you yesterday and you can see how quickly a coating develops there on parking lot

and on the roads. any untreat the surface could be slippery and could be slightly snow covered even as we head through the first part of tonight and into tomorrow morning. if this parking lot isn't treated could be slippery spots tomorrow morning heaviest snow has moved on out not expecting any more accumulation out there tonight. just a few lingering flurries and snow showers a few flakes drifting by that's about it. these flurries could make it in early tomorrow morning. here and there but for the most part this system is done with us. take look at snow amounts, though. eagle in chester county 6.5-inches of snow. west caln township 5-inches. chadds ford 4-inches. eagleville 3.3 and hokessin 3.3. that was the heaviest off to the west three to six area the philadelphia international airport checking in with just half an inch so far. it is going to turn colder now that we get the snow out of here temperatures will drop tomorrow and then it really starts to get cold by friday highs only in the 20s. we should be in the 40s this time of the year. that cold will stick with us through the weekend coming up

"eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon live in nash what new hampshire after very busy day new jersey governor chris coyote made a big announcement. rahel, good evening. >> reporter: hi, ukee. good evening. that's right. governor chris christie tonight saying he's going to stop to take a moment to breathe and just take a breath initially he was scheduled to travel to south carolina tomorrow and instead however he says he's going home to new jersey with his wife. he says he's going to go there. he hasn't been home for two weeks. and he's going to wait for the final results to come in and then he'll make a decision about how to move forward. after leading here for months cbs news is projecting drum is that the winner of new hampshire's republican presidential primary. exit poll data showed in nearly half of republican voters wanted a political outsider. >> new hampshire i want to thank you. we love you. we'll be back a lot. we're not going forget you.

february 20th with democratic caucus in nevada and gop primary in south carolina. and as you might imagine there has been lot of attention on new hampshire for months. focus moving to other states. when i spoke to voter today's about that here new hampshire they say they welcome. that rahel solomon cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you so much. reminder you can see all of the election results on our website just go to cbsphilly.com. a woman in delaware and two pennsylvania residents have contracted the zika virus. the delaware and pennsylvania divisions of public health say all those infected traveled to areas affected by the outbreak. the mosquito bourn illness is general meal but can cause birth defects when it infects pregnant women. >> anything which has a potential life threatening effect on our unborn babies is major concern and we need to take it seriously.

but i don't think it's time to panic. >> it matters to everyone not just pregnant women. this is something four my patient that is are traveling i definitely want to have conversations about them where they're traveling, the level of risk where they're traveling to and coming back from different places. >> dr. went on to say, we shall all be vigilant as we continue to learn more about the virus. experts here say zika is not as big of a threat as it is in latin america because the us has better mosquito control. tonight prosecutors are deciding if they will charge former eagle lesean mccoy with assault following a nightclub brawl that left two off duty philadelphia police officers seriously injured. new cell phone videos shows the violence at the recess lounge in old city early sunday morning. incident reports say the officers were injured during an argument with mccoy and three of his friends over a bottle of champagne. we've learned mccoy has retained high profile attorney jack mcmahon to represent him. the pennsylvania state senate will vote tomorrow on whether attorney general kathleen kane should be removed

from office. resolution will require support from at least 33 senators to pass. up like impeachment the move does not require act in the state house many we spoke tonight with state senator art heywood is democrat who initially supported cane cape's removal from office but has since changed his mine. >> in this process of determining whether she should or shouldn't be remove, i haven't heard anything convincing that would suggest summer be remove. what is it that she cannot do that is important to the job? i haven't heard that. >> right now it's unclear if governor wolf will sign off on the measure if it passes the senate. he has called on kane to resign. kane is schedule to go on trial in august when she will face charges for allegedly leaking confidential grand jury information. the winter storm moving through the area isn't dropping a huge amount of snow but does have it taking us a little slower on the drive. >> some drivers have four we'll drive. some have all wheel drive.

>> this is cbs3 "eyewitness news" with ukee washington, jessica dean, kate bilo and don bell. a cruise ship carrying thousands hits very rough seas ton night we're hearing from some people from our area who are on board. royal caribbean anthem of the sea social security headed back to new jersey tonight. it was supposed to go to the bahamas with a stop in florida. the massive ship was damaged by a storm system off the carolinas with wind gusts nearly 100 miles per hour. passengers were told to stay in their cabins. >> people are like starting to freak out and you start seeing like all the crew members they're just run aig round shutting down the bars. they're literally just like in a frenzy. >> so we just stayed in our room, um, it was terrifying. we had nowhere to go went just had to stay and ride it out. >> all passengers have been refunded and royal caribbean is

white wedding when they had the snowstorm. >> remember that. >> yes. >> not that much snow. >> not as much snow to be drag a wedding gown in. that was a mess. they made the best of it on that day. this storm was quite smaller. >> yes. smaller scale let's say. it was a nuisance system. it just brought light snow showers to the region. things did intensify in the afternoon and certainly if you're west of the city as we talk about at the top of the show some spots got four, five, 6-inches of snow chester and lancaster counties. the snow has now moved out and now we'll taub talking about brutal blast of cold air. let's get into it take you up to bethlehem. right along main street there. a little band of snow did go through that area a couple of hours ago but the roads are ma mainly wet that's main street there bethlehem. you can see the cars still covered with little bit of light snow. some of the sidewalks as welch this again was not much more than again just a little bit of a nuisance system. but again in spots over 5-inches of snow. generally will cause a few

problem on the roadways much as we go through the overnight hours as the light snow is moving on out, we still will expect some icy spots and slick spots on the roadways because temperatures are already dropping below freezing. and we'll be in the 20s in many spots tonight. anything that has not 14ed could get icy as the snow starts exit the region. temperatures right now as we shed below freezing, lancaster, 30 degrees in allentown much of chester counsel tie with new snow on the grounder below freezing right now. so that's not going to thaw out. not going to melt any time soon as we head toward the morning commute. philadelphia still above freezing but we will be dropping to about 31 overnight. snow moves on out again and just flurries tomorrow but the winds will pick up and the winds kind of signifying the change as that cold air starts to dive in from the north and west. it's going to be very cold on thursday. highs only around 30 degrees. and then, that's going to feel almost balmy compared to friday and the weekend. friday's highs only in the 20s. feeling like the single digits. the winds pick up tomorrow afternoon. out of the north and west. winds sustained about 15 miles

an hour through the day with gusts as high as 30 miles an hour. that's going to make our high of 38 feel more like 28 at times. so snow showers coming to an end overnight a few slick spots, 31 degrees will be your overnight low. for tomorrow just a few flurries in the morning then the sun comes out but turns windy. winds gust to 30 miles an hour. 38 degrees again feeling much colder than that. but the real mother load of arctic air starts to dive in thursday 49 day and take look at all this cold aero at any timing through saturday and sunday. saturday night into sunday morning, there is some indication that some spots in the north eat could go below zero. and for us here in philadelphia starting 8:00 o'clock tomorrow and continuing until monday at 2:00 p.m., temperatures will be below freezing. 114 hours below freezing for as we should be in the 40s this time of the year. saturday morning it will feel like around zero. sunday morning the worst of it that's when temperatures will be in the single digits in many spots and feels like temperatures subzero. 10 below what it will feel like
