health officials are looking into an out break of sickness at another sin us college, stomach issues have affect 100 students. >> "eyewitness news" continues now at 5:30. hi everyone i'm jessica dean. i'm ukee washington. college is working with the montgomery county health department to pinpoint the source of the sickness. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff has more from the campus in collegeville. >> reporter: all of the students impacted had one thing in common, they had eaten at campus dining hall before becoming sick but the medical director here at your sin another sinus college, he

just believe it was simply passed through close contact. >> majority of the students living on campus and they eat in the same places. >> reporter: ursinus college is home to 1600 students, and for past 24 hours, it has played host to a stomach ailment that has impact, around 100 students, at least 22 of them, seeking hospital treatments. >> it started coming more and more 2:00 o'clock, 3:00 o'clock, 4:00 o'clock. by the time i got the to the health center, the waiting room was full of students who had been afflict with this what appears to be a stomach virus. >> reporter: campus medical director says that the symptoms have been standards. nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea. >> dehydration is biggest risk. that is worst that can happen. for most of these kid here who are young and healthy. >> reporter: the doctor feels thinks fast action of the virus or bacteria in close quarters. so the college has taken swift action. >> by the end of the day we are hoping both dining facilities will be cleaned, we

arctic blast. >> it is like i said before opening up the freezer tonight and going to the deep freeze for the weekend. it is a two phase blast of cold air like nothing we have felt since last february when we had again that really cold spell. roughly around the same time of the month, and normally we should be in the 40's this time of the year. we're talking about highs in the 20's and teens. that is not, normal winter cold for us here in philadelphia sure, it does happen but you have to plan for it. it could be dangerous to be out especially on saturday night when people may have valentines day plans in the city, go out for dinner, not the cold you want to be out for any length of time walking through the city, it will be just brutal especially saturday night into sunday morning. that is the core of it. let look at is what happening right now though to day, it is transition day. we had snow depart in the morning, band of snow showers intensified briefly early this morning, six to 8:00 a.m. over the city. dumped snow, low snow cover as we woke up this morning. that system did not want to get out of here from monday

night through this morning we had problems with that but now it is gone and in its wake probably worse, the cold. here's a quick look at center city we see breaks in the cloud cover there eyewitness weather watchers send us great snow photos and looking at what they are looking at. you can see a lot of snow, everything was a little sugar coat today. this is john he sent us this before picture from this morning. lets look at what john's street looks like right now, snow is pretty much gone and wind picked up. we have those big almost snowball looking things flying down off tree branches and hit your windshield and reduce visibility. that happened to me a few times today. is there jerry's dog wood tree in his front yard yearning for spring. today i was outside and i heard bird chirping. i said where ever you came from go back south. you don't want to be here this weekend. it is way too cold. snow balancing on the sign, an eighth of the inch and look at that coating the top of the sign. thanks to jerry for. that barbara just under 2 inches there and barbara, i believe. >> lets see where barbara is

saturday night into sunday morning, six and a high on sunday, only 19 degrees. it is a polar blast that secondary enforcing cold air comes in friday night into saturday, that is the core of the cold and temperatures, this weekend, running 20 to 25 . we should be in the low to mid 40's. we expect to be below freezing in philadelphia from tomorrow evening, all the way through machine afternoon. that is 115 hours below the freezing mark. overnight down to 24. partly cloud which a flurry around. tomorrow partly sunny, windy cold, high of just 29. you're witness weather seven day forecast takes a look at this cold blast. next day of cold, it gets cold. saturday into sunday with feels like temperatures in the single digits. then sub zero feels like saturday night into sunday. next week we do moderate but we have chance of snow monday and chance for rain on tuesday. we will iron out details with that storm and keep you posted. back to you guys. >> thanks very much.

in this weeks story of brotherly love a young girl in gloucester county want to help scientists fighting a rare form of cancer that cancer took her grandmother's life. on a day devoted to love she's holding a bake sale. erin, and her friend sophia lawman love baking. they are in charge of family and friend cracked eggs and whip up cake batter. >> it is just crazy in the kitchen. >> at first it was just for fun and then my mom started to get sick. so we did it for her. >> reporter: mom mom was laurie, a rare form of adrenal

cancer... so rare that the tomber went undiagnosis for ten years. >> like one in 1 million people get it. >> reporter: her mother julian explain the reality of rare diseases. >> i said to erin there has to be a way for people to do research in order for them to find prevention and cures. i tried to explain that to her. she's pretty smart. she said we should just raise money. >> reporter: what better way then a bake sale. erin and sophia went in the kitchen, they sold their creations at mom mom's church and raised $600. they gave money to the national organization for rare disorders. >> somebody told her, she was really happy. that was hospital yes, sir she had been since she was sick. >> reporter: mom mom passed in september. the bake sailed is helping them fund a research grant in the rare cans their took her life. if nord can get $33,500 the grant will be funded. so erin is holding another bake sale on valentines day. >> i want to have like triple what we had last time but our
