"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us live at lehigh valley hospital. we understand that officer is recovering this morning. good morning, justin. >> reporter: good morning. overnight police confirmed that officer is in stable condition and is recovering, that suspect is recovering, as well. allentown police tell us that an officer was wounded as he and emergency response team served an arrest warrant to that suspect last night. scene was an apartment on the

600 block of north godfrey street around 9:45 p.m., they report april officer was shot the by a man inside the residents. law enforce development fire back strike ago this suspect no word on where he was shot or the the extent of his wound. there are reports that male officer was shot in his left arm, and then brought here to lehigh valley hospital, meantime a swat style operation was closing in on that suspect. we are toll that neighbors were evacuated and bystanders report police using at least one flash bang as they cornered the building some one saw a robot dispatched in the unit before authorities caught him and took him to treatment about 1:00 a.m. that is hours after that officer was wounded. police chief keith morris ran down the operation for us. >> our criminal investigations division was following up on the homicide that occurred on sunday. that investigation led them to 616 north godfrey street where they were prepared to survey

search warrant. members of the vehicle will met were gunfire. one of the officers was shot. he was transported to lehigh valley medical center where he received treatment and is in stable condition at this time. >> reporter: that officer is on track to make a full recovery. we are awaiting more details from police on this case. for that warrant police have confirmed, it is for the death of a woman found dead, sunday in the the dumpster just two blocks from where this standoff took place. we know that woman is of asian dissent between 18 and 30 years old. 5 feet tall and about 119-pound. so that investigation and this one are continuing this morning. erika, that suspect recovering as well as the officer. that is very latest here at the lehigh valley, i'm just continue finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news" us. >> thanks for that update. meanwhile many people in our area will spend the day assessing and cleaning up from storm damage. powerful wind blew roof off

this dairy farm in richboro leaving hundreds of cows in danger. thankfully no cows or people were injured, a miracle according to the the owner, lenny tanner. the farm has been in his family for many years. >> it is just hard to believe, that as much damage can be done in such a short period of time. we just to have move forward. we will look at everything, tomorrow and then we will start to rebuild. >> the wind also took down this nearby tree, in feasterville causing major damage to this house. in philadelphia a, now the holmesberg boys club sustain serious damage. wind, ripped the roof off, part of the roof. the it was only put on last year after the club spent five years fund raise to go pay for the work. crews are make going repairs, no one was injury. happening today a preliminary hearing for suspect in the deadly shooting in a north philadelphia home less shelter. three two-year old john brook is accused of killing a shelter employee and critically wounding another.
