ended up with 5 inches of snow, quarter inch, six a mile per hour wind in salem county over inch of rain in quakertown. than is just a short list, obviously, everything that had gone down here with the course that far storm system. it just had it all basically, folks, now, thankfully as i step to this side see the shield of cloud cover getting swept away. what it leaves hine, nice quiet stretch. few blips on the radar along the way, none of which have any major impact on us, for example, you have got this little pocket of some very light snow currently falling across in or sterio, won't be missing with us, brinking in cup ill of clouds, eventually breeze. otherwise, also very quiet at the wide zoom here, we do have high pressure to thank for that over the course of the next couple elf days, that will be our running theme, and as it really sets up shop, we will see what we call baby roller coaster ride on the thermometer. back to seasonable today, where we should be, mid 40's, mid february, that's what you expect. then we see the coolest day of the pack here come tomorrow.
12:19 pm
full sunshine as we sit under high pressure. but it will be a chilly day, upper 30s generally the expectation, then into friday, we start to rebound once more on the back side of this clockwise flow around high pressure, you will start to see few more clouds build in, but the temperatures rebounding, will be another system that passes us by to the north, and that's going to in essence help to draw warmth in here, that sets us into the 50's for the upcoming weekends, and this is feels like good time to start talking about the countdown to spring, doesn't it? twenty-five days until daylight saving time begins, and spring officially at least for the astronomical purposes, 32 days away, but meteorological spring kicks off march 1, as we have don in clearwater, 54 days rather until that philly's home opener. you actually got bright sunshine outside cape may courthouse, certainly few more clouds the further inland you are, but that said, we sort of split the difference, call it partly sunny day, 46 the afternoon, daytime high here, get you down to 27 tonight, it is clear, it is calm, it is
12:20 pm
cold, as a result, of that clear sky allowing the heat to get drawn back up to the atmosphere, then the warm up. looking ahead to saturday, flirting at least with 60, we will see some sunshine and sunday also well in the average in the 50's, erika, back to you. >> brains, braun or beauty? that's the theme on this season survivor. the show is back tonight with a special 90 minutes season premiere. >> you are witnessing 18 americans begin an adventure, that will forever change their lives. >> they've been given two minutes to salvage whatever they can off this boat. >> oh, after that the game is on, and joining me now, the host of survivor, jeff probes, what a season, can't wait for this premiere, the small island nation in cambodia, harsh conditions and this great theme, this brains, braun or beauty. can you break it down for us? >> yes, erika, we divide the people once we have them. we see what qualities they have. and this seemed to make sense,
12:21 pm
because if you are really smart er doctor like this guy peter or liz who scored perfect sat, you tends to get through life with your brains. if you're former nba player like scott, or bounty hunter like jason, you tends to get by based on braun. and if you're a beautiful woman line ann, who plays poker and i play this game with men and all they want to do is stare at my chess and i take their chips, you rely on beauty. the idea is which of those qualities, can you use to your advantage, in a game like survive orr to get to the end? >> very good. two contestant from our area my money is on philly's on joseph del grip. can you tell us about him? >> oh, i love joe. i love joe. he is 72 years old. former fbi hostage negotiator. the very first season of survivor we had a guy who was 72, rudy, he was former navy seal. and joe referenced him and said, you know, this is the
12:22 pm
guy that i saw and i thought one day i'm going to do that. what do you know, he is 72, same age, fitness, he's such a great representation of what you can do in your 70s. >> absolutely, and such great shape, too. also i want to touch on deb fry reading, i believe she is a chemist? >> debbie is a great character. and i said character because people are either going to say oh, my god i love debbie, or oh, my god she drives me nut. debbie is really bright, has had tons of jobs, including a chemist, and also being a server at red lobster. i mean, her life spans everything, and debbie is really fun, because she'll tell you up front i'm an expert at this, i'm an expert at. that will and on survivor if you are going to talk it, you better be able to walk it, and that's what's going to be fun about watching deb. >> i just couple of second left. we want to talk about this most recent book book six and adult series, also, can you tell us about that?
12:23 pm
>> yes, stranded is an adventure series for kids. basically survivor for kids. and we wrote it with that in mine, because of how many kids watch survivor, and the fun thing is the kids reading stranded then tell me, yes, i read stranded, i get it, and i'm going to do survivor when i get older. >> i love it. jeff thanks so much for your time. always a pleasure. >> good talking to you. >> thank you, take care. reminder for you the emmy award winning series survivor returns tonight at 8:00 p.m. right here on cbs-3. we will be watching.
