>> i'm thinking manny hope he didn't murder that girl. >> he did the not bother anybody. >> reporter: but thursday night allentown police say the man shot at officers trying to survey warrant in connection to a weekend murder, and then barricaded himself inside his north godfrey home for hours. >> i heard a lot of shooting, and i thought it was a bomb. i thought it was a gang. >> reporter: barbara roman lives next door to the suspect's home. >> i looked out window and cops say get out. >> reporter: while neighbors were safely evacuated both suspect and detective were injured in the the shoot-out. >> shots were back and forth. >> reporter: what is still not known is identity of the murder victim. police there on sunday said they found a woman shot and stuffed inside a recycle bin a few blocks away. the neighbor tom said he often saw a woman walking with the man police now believe may be connect to the slaying. >> what really got strange was when she wore black slacks and black and white shoes that were nikes. i used to see her with the black and white shoes on. that is when it hit home.

>> reporter: police have not released suspect's name or nature of the warrant. lehigh county district attorney's office is investigating but decline comment. reporting from allentown i'm anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you. fbi says it is a missing key evidence in the san bernardino shooting and now asking, apple to hack the phone of one of the attackers. but apple is saying no, and it is planning to fight judge's order to decrypt the phone which apple says could put millions of iphone users at risk. federal investigators still haven't figured out a way to unlock the i phone of farouk the man who carried out deadly san bernardino terror attacks that killed 14 people. the phone may have the auto erase feature enabled which would wipe data after too many failed pass word a attempts. on tuesday, a federal judge ruled apple must find a way to disable function on farouk's phone which would enable the fbi to submit pass codes to

another man a photo through the app, jacked. twenty-nine men decided to meet just after midnight. >> this suspect direct the victim to drive through what he described as his friend's house which is on the 500 block of laurel road. >> reporter: this was not his friend's house and when they neared the door the suspect asked to use victim's iphone and ran off toward route 73. his night of romance wasn't over, just one hours later police were called for the same set of crime, new victims. >> and he direct him to the same street in the same secluded area. >> reporter: too secluded. one victim refused to give up his phone and the suspect ran off. surveillance pictures from a nearby store matched the a a tire from the photo. >> who knows what people are thinking, or how they, what their families or friend may know about their private lives. >> reporter: that said police fear that there could be more victims. >> it is through an app, it is same thing, everybody runs a risk, there is an element of trust you have to have with

airport. not bad. we are entering into milder part earn. notice we have cold air jet stream dipping southward briefly as we head into your thursday, tomorrow chilly day but it is dry. we will see jet stream rise backup more zone flow due west to east flow that will take over for weekend and keeping temperatures on the milder side as at least through sunday. and we are talking about our next storm threat. let's first talk bay couple different models. we will look at two main medium range models, first gfs model. just watch track of this potential low. this is tuesday into wednesday or early thursday next week. track of this low takes it west of philadelphia, pretty slow and up through new england. european model watch different here this keeps it off the coast, keeps it further east of philadelphia and up into new england. track will be crucial with this storm. what we know as of right now confidence is grogan east coast storm is likely next tuesday or wednesday.

in this weeks story of brotherly love philadelphia public schools have struggled to keep their libraries opened. >> so a team of former educators and volunteers stepped up to get books back in the hand of children. we caught up with them in germantown. >> you are going to go back and meet... >> bernice sherman is guiding 59 and six year-old to story time in john kelly elementary school. >> anybody necessity what a is. >> reporter: that is john davis a retired educator and musician who went to philadelphia public schools back when libraries were standard. >> that opened up the world to me amy was able to go places and find out things i wouldn't have had i not hat experience of reading. >> reporter: kelly elementary had a librarian for two years

when peggy davis found out she and others volunteered to get it backup and running. >> sort of become a dumping ground. there were boxes, all around, and just a lot of dusty books. >> reporter: but lots of those books were great for kid, and in good condition. they got rid of the outdated books, cleaned up the good ones and got them laminated free thanks to a friendly staples manager. they added signs to the shelves and posted colorful artwork on the walls. >> they do such a great job in organizing the books, in various ge nres, grade levels, interests. >> reporter: they stock around every weekday volunteers hold library classes. >> they come for read allowed and when read allowed is finish then they chewed a book for the next week. >> oh, that is cute. >> all about science. >> watching excitement of the kid as they encounter books and as they hear stories, it is a phenomenal thing to sianni be part of.
