"eyewitness news" reporter natasha brown breaks down the battle between privacy and protect. isn't we saw this coming. it was a fight that was ultimately going to happen. >> reporter: the war on terror and the right to privacy have collided in a way cyber security experts say they knew would one day be inevitable. the fbi got a court order requiring apple to hack the iphone of one of the terrorists behind the san bernardino, california massacre. but the head of apple is refusing the order. rob dividio an sort professor of the criminology and justice studies at drexel university. >> apple is essentially saying

the concerns of privacy or maintaining privacy and integrity of data out weigh the concerns that the justice department is presenting. >> reporter: win hours of ruling apple ceo tim cook called the demands chilling and said it could lead to the tech giant being forced to build surveillance software tinder accept your messages or even access your phone's microphone or camera without your knowledge. farook and his wife malik killed 14 people on december shooting rampage. since the attack the fbi has been definitelying into the couple's internet and electronic history. they have discover that the couple sympathized with isis and islamic radicals. in court documents fbi says farook's iphone could provide key clues to his contacts and whereabouts. >> that's what the government needs to further these investigations to get the evidence they need to prevent future attacks. >> the concern the ripple effect, right? this is just a slippery slope.

cosby suit names her lawyer, her mother and the pub lib cher of the national inquirer. the suit alleges breach of contract because the parties are subject to confidentiality clauses. couldn't stand filed suit against cosby and the inquirer in 2005 and those cases were settled. a philadelphia police detective facing assault charges surrenders to authorities. 43-year-old adam o'donnell accused of of assault on february 3rd. authorities say o'donnell was he is coring a suspect out of the special victims unit when he kick him in the knee injuring the man. authorities say o'donnell then put the suspect no an unmarked police car, drove him to hunting park and dropped him off on a random street. >> hiding drugs in car parts. that's what police say montgomery county man did. david of east norriton behind bars after being arraigned and drug on conspiracy charges for his role in heroin trafficking ring authorities say when they arrested him last week he was carrying more than sick pounds of heroin disguised in car batteries. more than 200 community

leaders are calling on authorities to reopen the investigation into the deaths avenue well-known new jersey couple. cooper health system ceo john sheridan and his wife joyce were found dead in their somerset county home in september 2014. the prosecutor's office ruled sheridan stabbed his wife then stabbed himself and set the bedroom on fire. the murder weapon was never found. three former new jersey governors are among the leaders asking for that case to be reopen. >> tonight a warning about thieves using a dating app to steal more than just hearts. mt. laurel police say a man sent another man this photo through the app jack'ed on februar february 10th. they met up in seclude area on route 73. it ended up with the suspect running off with the victim's i phone. two hours police got a call from another man but that man managed to hold on to his phone. >> it's an app everybody runs the risk. there's an element of trust you have to have with that person.

if they're sending off signals and red flags are going off in your head you should get out of the situation. >> police are concerned there could be more victims. they ask anyone with information about the suspect to come forward. right now pope francis is on his way back to italy after a five-day visit to mexico. the pope waived goodbye to the crowd at the airport tonight. earlier he celebrated mass the there. and prayed for the thousand of migrants who died trying to reach the united states. holy father appealed for governments to open their hearts if not their borders. and fake a look at this frightening moment for pope francis while in mexico. someone pulled on his vestments knocking him on to child in a wheelchair. the pope quickly scolded those responsible for their behavior. >> there is word tonight president obama is expected to visit cuba next month. this as the u.s. and cuba continue to normalize relations after a half century of cold war

we had wind damage. severe weather. finally the sun came out just in time for it to set this weekend we're not talking rain or snow. we're talking a nice stretch and temperatures on the rise. the first we got to get through cold night. let's take a look outside. dropping blow freezing to night and most areas have dried out but if do you still have some flooding some of the puddling from the melted snow certainly yesterday or any of the rain that came through just watch out for some icy spots. spot on my driveway that gets run off day or two after it rains. watch where you walk. most of the region fine tonight skycam3 over center city not bad at all. corm scan three is quite as we well. lake effect snow showers you can see drifting down from portions of new york state and western pennsylvania. those are staying away for the most part maybe a stray flu rehear or there. those have fizzle as they've moved toward the philadelphia area and the greater united states very very quite. nothing brewing in the midwest or the central part of the country. we are quiet at least until this time next week. tuesday night really into next wednesday is when we're tracking

the chance for another east coast storm. get to that all in good time. let's start with what's happening now. 29 in allentown. 31 in reading. 37 in philadelphia. but as i mentioned on sunday it was 8 degrees. so we can deal with these kind of numbers. 31 in millville and it's 32 at the atlantic city airport. roller coaster temperatures continue. so tomorrow we're only in the 30s. now, again, nothing compared to last weekend but it is a chilly day. we've got a full day of sun but cool breeze from the north and west will make it feel even that much cooler through the day definitely need the winter coat. the kids need the gloves and the hats when you send them off to the bus stop. friday is actually a lot like today. kind of a copy and paste sort of day. warm front draped over the area. bring us a few more clouds highs in the fours a lot like today. a few peeks of sunshine here and there. that's about it. more sun for the week and. we get in a zonal flow kind of a direct west to east know across the country which is good news it will keep up generally mild we like to warm up in philly on west win that's what we'll do on saturday. nice and warm and in fact that was the week and with the jet stream just off to the north

that nice westerly flow temperatures will average 10 to 15 degrees above normal both saturday and sunday. now, saturday will be a windy day. winds could gust to about 30 miles an hour at times that's the only downside of it but still 57 degrees near 60 feeling great for saturday. sunday, less wind but also just a few degrees cooler at 54. then we start to talk about that next storm threat this is next tuesday night into wednesday. our two main medium range models we look the gfs takes the track inn lapped a rain track for us this time of the year or at least a rain to snow. the european model takes it off the coast for now. that's a colder track that would mean more snow for us. too soon to tell we're still a full week out of this storm. what we do know east coast storm is likely next tuesday and wednesday. the track of the storm will be very crucial when determining precipitation type. still a great deal of uncertainty. it's amazing that we can even say a week out that we know and have pretty high confidence a storm will be happening but what we can't pinpoint are specifics is it going to rain, snow, rain
