>> this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a head-on collision kills a driver during rush hour. and it is not the first time we've seen an accident in this exact spot just like this. now, commuters are wondering, is this stretch of road more dangerous? good afternoon, i'm erika von tiehl. police say that accident also left a four year old child in the hospital. it also placed near boathouse road near martin luther king

drive, where diana rocco joins because update. diane? >> and erika, police, have not yet released the identity of that driver, who was killed this morning, but it is raising big concerns, about this stretch of mlk drive. the roadway was closed for about three hours, it has since reopened, but now one person is dead, and a woman and child were sent to the hospital. >> a sheet covers the driver side of this green four door sedan, mangled car is hard to recognize, the driver was killed instantly after police say he crossed the yellow line heading out bound on the inner lanes of mlk drive just after 8:00 thursday morning, it happened on the curve across from boathouse boathouse row. police say the driver, a man in his 20's,'s, hit this blue chevy head on. there was a 32 year old woman, driving, in a four year old passenger in the back seat. both were taken to the hospital. this is the second deadly crash, in the curve stretch of

mlk drive in the last year and a half in october of 2014, the passenger of this rav4 killed when another car traveling toward center city across the yellow line. under the mlk overpass near sweet briar drive injuring two other. mlk reopened thursday, just before 11:00 but it caused major traffic backups, while police investigated. >> so that woman and child were taken to hahnemann hospital, they are not seriously injured, police are still investigating, but have determined that alcohol was not a factor here. live along mlk drive this noon, i'm diana rocco, cb. three, "eyewitness news". >> thank you. another accident to tell but this one on the garden state parkway in stratford township. chopper three over that scene, where two vehicles were overturned and you see on the side of the road. two women were transported to the hospital, but they are expected to be okay. the left lane is open, and traffic is getting by this noon. weather wise, a nice sunny thursday, and from what i

>> the 300 block of south 52nd street. >> early leads have focused murder investigation inside the cobbs creek club, as police commissioner richard ross. >> one of the incidents that we've seen time and time again, things that start in a bar or liquor establishment. >> homicide detective are searching for the man they say ambushed and shot and killed a 31 year old man, after he parked his suv outside the club, about 11:00 last night. >> it appears that this individual was the intended target. >> city crime camera and network of other likely caught more glimpse of the crime and the perpetrator who fled. police say after those shots were fired, the suspect took off running here north on 52nd, then west on delancey, that's where the trail runs cold. >> our shooter who walk up on the victim, this 31 year old victim, just parked hits suv, the victim, exited the driver door, and when he walked on to

above average t has been wild week so far. tuesday we hit 60. now down to 30 today, and heading right back up to that weekend temperature, in the upper 50's, so, high pressure in control today going to stay nice through the friday, there is your friday evening, nice and dry, wintery precipitation staying to the north. saturday looking good but notice low pressure system coming our way, could bring us few sprinkles as we get into our sunday evening, so saturday dry, good day to be out, sunday good, watch out for few sprinkles in the evening. next storm threat will be tuesday into wednesday, low pressure system taking that kind of traditional path right up the coast two models disagreeing, is it warmer air that wins out, and get rain, is it going to be colder air wins out and we get snow? but tuesday into wednesday is the timing again the track has offering do with whether it is rain or snow, still much uncertainty, so i want you to keep an eye, but don't adjust your plans on it quite yet. so today looking pretty good.
