news", why the store owner says they're not getting the protection they deserve. good evening, i'm ukee washington. >> i'm jessica dean. over the weekends thieves hit barski's diamonds on the 700 block of sam some street. police have just released surveillance video of that incident, and tonight, the owners tell "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh this burglary could have been prevented. >> a brazen burglary ought caught on surveillance cameras. >> a bunch of trays of diamond earrings down here, and they took them you. >> when the store closes, so does the security gate. >> it supposed to guard, but early saturday morning, thieves hot wired it open. >> once that gate was up, the thieves had to get through this store. but the glass had been treated, so the burglaries had to jimmy these locks. >> once inside, you can see, the burglaries breaking into at least four cases, and swiping nearly half a million dollars in jewels. it was bold, police say, and

strategic. >> you can see these individuals new exactly what they were looking for and went to some specific items. >> but it is not the first time this store, a fixture of jewelry row, for more than 100 years, has been hit by a heist. >> it is violating. >> barski says back in november 2014 crooks cut through the security gate stole about $200,000 worth of jewelry. but more than the cash, he says, the thieves are stealing a sense of security. >> it is just after hours, it is like there is no -- >> no patrols. it is like open season. >> that's unacceptable, the family says, when the shop shells out tens of thousands of dollars a year in taxes. >> the business privilege tax that we have here, for what, we have no protection, we get robbed. what's the privilege? >> jeffrey barski says if crime goes up, so do the for rent signs and it is bringing business down. >> this is the problem. we don't have police protection. customers don't feel safe. and it is a spiral. >> in center city, anita oh,

well, take a look at the weather now. we are in for weekends warm up, also a storm in the forecast, meteorologist, kate bilo is out on the cbs-3 skydeck, kate? >> jest, a i hate when you talk to me after the tee jerker stories. all tiered up after that story. pretty quiet night out here, pretty cold night, as well, temperatures have not yet risen, to that little spring preview we've been talking about for the weekends. but it is coming, and tomorrow, will feel whole lot different than today. first take a look at storm scan3, could have few sprinkles moving through tonight mainly off to the north and west, if we pick up a stray shower even in the poconos, where temperatures are below freezing there may be few icy spots all thanks to the big warmfront lifting through the northeast and as that warmfront progresses north and eastward, we get southwest winds to really start raising those temperatures. but, meantime, another cold evening. thirty-six in philadelphia right now. thirty-three in wilmington, and 35 degrees in atlantic sit. but take a look, just off to the west, near 06 in pittsburgh right now, 54 in cleveland, so coming up just how warm will it get this

looking ahead to the weekends, they have something to look forward to. >> something indeed to look forward to. it will feel like a little taste of spring outside this weekend. and, you know what, none too soon after the weather we've been dealing with this past week, we had of course the extreme arctic cold last weekends, snow monday, ice monday night, rain and wind on tuesday. we have got to 60 tuesday. you couldn't get outside and enjoy it. tomorrow completely different kind of 60 with more sunshine in your forecast, let's look what's going on storm scan3, nothing locally. we just have some clouds around. clouds in place should help things stay little warmer over night tonight, certainly, than they did last night, and also we start to see the southwest winds pick up as we go through the overnight hours and into tomorrow morning. as this warmfront gets out of the way. i mentioned earlier, there could be stray string he will in a couple of spots, doesn't look all that impress i have to me on the radar picture, maybe pick up lingering spring fell this little area you see developing here over portions every new york, if that dips down toward the lehigh valley or poconos could pick up stray shower tonight, most every us should be dry and clouds will

be diminishing overnight as we start to get into more of southwest flow, there is the system moving through the great lakes, cold front kind of all the way back here, warmfront, draping over portions of new england, and we've got the big warm up, in play, over the weekends, temperatures again making a run for 60 tomorrow, and we should only be in the mid 40's this time of the year. we're about 10 degrees below average outside right now. we didn't make it out of the 30's today. we drop to 36, now that the sun's gone down. thirty-six in allentown as well. twenty-seven in mount pocono. and 34 degrees at the moment in wilmington. that's all about to change. warmer weekends, tomorrow breezy day, winds could gust to 25, 30 miles an hour, that's okay, because it is 15 degrees above average. mostly sunny, beautiful day tomorrow. sunday couple of degrees colder, sun and clouds around, through the day. more clouds than saturday, but still dry through the daylight hours, but sunday night, there is a little system, kind of little sneak attack, looked like it would stay to the south. but the latest information shows that storm trying to sneak a little bit north sunday night overnight into monday. mainly while we're sleeping,

but there is the chance of some spots could see rain, or even a little snow by the time we wake up on monday morning. so it is a miler pattern, jet stream lifting well off to the north allowing southwest winds to pick up, deep south, temperatures in the 70s, 80s, bring it eastwards, ten to 15 degrees above average this weekend, what a difference one week makes. last saturday hit high of 24 degrees. >> this saturday, 60 degrees, big jump more than 25 degrees difference in that forecast. future weather again looking really dry through tonight, but here we go. monday 3:00 a.m., we've got little bit of mixing in the city rain to the south and even little wet snow a lot of it will not stick. see grassy accumulations in one, two spots in the lehigh valley, and out of here by monday morning, just recap what we know about this next storm next week, late tuesday into wednesday, could be a secondary low, thursday this looks like mainly rain, but some snow is possible, and we'll have to watch the coast, as well, there could be some gusty winds, some high tides, as well. saturday mostly sunny, mild,
