thousands of dollars worth of jewels. our natasha brown is live in center city with more on the growing retail opportunities want business owners would like to be doing to protect them from crime. natasha? >> reporter: several retail burglaries just recently certainly has some store owners rattled. they want more police presence. especially in light of the fact that there's a recent retail surge in center city philadelphia. center city philadelphia has become a bustling retail destination. shoppers gliding in and out of new stores like century 21 on market street. >> with that ease comes the ease of criminals targeting high you have-end stores in the overnight hours friday, thieves shattered windows here at century 21 store stealing display items like clothing and accessories. the newly opened bloomingdale's outlet at liberty place became the target of nine masked thieves who gotta with with to thousand dollars worth of jeans tuesday evening. >> a bunch of trays of diamond

way for local woman. >> after more than two decades on the job our david superintendent tells us she's now drawing on all that crime fighting experience to enterta entertain. >> reporter: the click of a keyboard is just one a few sounds you'll hear coming from former fb i.e. jerry williams office. another is a series of pod casts she's recorded about her stories fighting crime. it's catching on for three days this week it was the number one knew and noteworthy pod cast on i tunes. >> i was shocked. i have no idea why they selected my pod cast but i am so gratef grateful. >> reporter: william joined the fbi in 1982. she left in 2008 before taking over as the chief spokeswoman for septa. she left that job last summer. she loved it but full-time writing call her name. >> somebody asked what are you going to do when you leave septa? i said i don't know. i'm a free agent. maybe i'll dye my hair blue and then i thought about it, i said you know what, i'm dying my hair

note. let's take look what that means take you outside right now and take you a peek of center city. it's friday night and skies are clear. we had couple of showers that tried that get their act together moving across the region those have really faltered and we're not seeing much of anything with that at the moment. so center city is quiet for tonight. no problems if you're out and about. let's take a quick look at storm scan3 which is showing that warm front that's been moving through and you can see the showers really developed offshore. luckily these didn't come through for us because if these had developed over our area earlier up in the pocono region where temperatures were below freezing you would have been dealing with ice. not so much tonight. we do have few of these light snow showers and that's about it. those are starting to push on out and notice that line is re really desintegrating over portions of camden and gloucester counties right now a couple of snow showers moving through. in the meantime temperatures actually rising. now that the front has started to push on through we're back up to 39. we were at 37 last hour in philadelphia. 35 in allentown. 35 in wilmington. and it's 40 in atlantic city. not too bad. we've got this warm air lurking

just off to the west near 60 degrees right now at 11:19 at night in pittsburgh. very very warm air pushing in from the south and west as the jet stream lifts to the north and we're talking 10 to 15 degrees above average through the weekend. what difference a week makes. last saturday the high was just 24 degrees. i'm sure we were that well forecast tomorrow big difference, 60 degrees for your saturday. so tonight, any kind of rain and snow threat is minimal sprinkle or snow shower as i just showed you there on storm scan3. sunday night though we've got a moderate threat a system coming through it will bring rain and maybe a rain/snow mix in a couple of spots. a high threat tuesday into wednesday. this is a midweek system. there's some indication that it may try to split into two separate lose one late tuesday one on thursday it looking mainly rain for now. temperatures in the fours but there's a chance snow could mix in. let's start with the first system sunday night into monday morning. again, saturday is clear. no problems. sunday by 9:00 o'clock we start to see rain over spread the area

you can see it may exit monday morning as a little bit of snow in our north and west suburb not expecting much don't really expect it to stick certainly not to the roads it will be too warm for that. could be a little wet snow on the grass in the lehigh valley monday morning for the midweek time frame coastal storm potentially lookly like mainly rain but some snow possible. gusty winds and tidal flooding concerns bound down the shore. overnight that stray sprinkle around. we clear it it out. tomorrow mostly sunny and mile at 60 degrees. about 15 degrees above average. sunday less win but a few more clouds at 56. watch for that little system quickly sunday night into monday. and then it's tuesday into wednesday of next week and behind that system going to turn colder by the end of next week not talking 60s next week. >> no. >> appreciate it, kate. >> sports direct don bell in clearwater florida where phillies spring training is underway. >> i'm don bell with the phillies in clearwater, florida. just three days into spring training and one of the phillies top pitchers is going on the
