home, to save his wife to no avail. >> this morning, he is now fighting for his life here at chester crozer, at last check, listed in critical condition as officials try to figure out what start that fatal fire. >> heavy smoke and flames, choked this boothwyne block, as firefighters raised into action sunday evening, called to do more than finish off a fire. >> fire department was dispatched, around 5:00 p.m., for a dwelling fire, reported entrapment. >> intensive heat on the first floor, and you could feel the heat all the way across the street. >> they entered the building, went up to the second floor, discovered a female adult inside, brought her out, she was pronounced. >> that was not the first attempt to 50 year old brenda from her burning home on the 23 huge belong of blueball avenue. among the first tries from her husband outside with the grandkids, fire officials say, when he saw the fire and rushed in to find and save

her. but the flames, the heat and smoke, that would gut their home, and claim his wife, were all too much. >> her husband, he was always there to help out whom ever. they all were. >> he was rushed to chester crozer suffering from burns and other injuries. neighbor ruth is seen praying. she said she and other will keep that up. >> i'm just praying for the family, the father, who was taking care of their grandchildren and all for them to just get through this, as a community for us to help them in any which way possible. >> and neighbors say just two years ago, the couple lost their daughter to an overdose. they were still getting over that. we are told. now her husband, is said to recover here. he had at last check was in critical condition. the investigation began shortly after that fire was placed under control yesterday. we could find out officials say what started this blaze as soon as later on today. we are live here outside chester crozer, justin finch,

cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> that family already gone through so much. thank you. >> two firefighters are recovering this morning after battling a fire in burlington county new jersey. the flames broke out yesterday afternoon at the home on 15 wilson avenue in bordentown. both firefighters suffered minor injuries. the cause remains under investigation. >> now, despite numerous attempt tops prevent it from happening, camille cosby is scheduled to be deposed today. a judge denied a last minute request to delay it, expected to answer questions in a lawsuit brought against her husband, by seven women, who say that he sexually assaulted them decades ago. the lawyers said camille cosby's deposition should be delayed, because she, quote, has had no involvement with the fact oral gazes underlying this case. by the way, camille cosby will not have to answer any questions about her personal conversations with her husband. >> also, the trial begins today for a former philadelphia police officer. edward is accused of making

terroristic threats. prosecutors say the former officer hit a man in the knee with his car in october 2013 while he was off duty. then allegedly threatened the victim with racial slurs, and showed off a gun. sawikci faces prison if convicted. >> michigan uber driver will be arraigned today in connection with the shooting rampage that went on for seven hours. cbs news correspondent don champion tells us, the alleged killer appears to have chosen his victims at random. >> report chase jean daulton faces multiple weapon charges in connected to shooting rampage, the 45 year old uber driver targeted his victims at random. mark dutton gets chills thinking about his encounter daulton. >> crazy to think that someone could have gone out and just done all of these horrible things and just came in with a straight face look gooing to work and doing his job. >> they heard about the killing spree and got nervous when daulton pick zero picked them up in a car that matched the one police were looking

for. >> fifty-three year old richard smith and his 17 year old son, tyler, were killed car shopping at this dealership. barbara hawthorn was among those killed at this cracker barrel. >> where tragic lie like this strikes, you never expect it to be this close at home. >> daulton, married father of two, had no prior criminal history. don champion, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". a deadly shooting is under investigation, in hunting park. a 20 year old man and 17 year old girl shot multiple times on pike street and park avenue while sitting in a car. the man died. the girl is in critical condition. one woman we spoke with a victim of gun violence herself said it needs to stop. >> this is really, really, really disheartening to hear that happen right, you know, my mom lives here, she is 08 years old. throughout the 50 years that she lived her, i can name countless people that has been killed in the area, just needs to stop.

>> mild weather perfect to get out and field some grounders out there. "eyewitness news" cameras caught up with the team practicing yesterday at burrell co-program in juniata park. felt so nice. now, 12 punch of storms coming?

>> on the way. we will we'll see this significantly go downhill, much more soggy weather starts to take over. so, storm scan3, showing you wide zoom. because we are really looking at nice day today. but, we are waiting for this first of two separate systems to move n and here it is, down across the deep south, gathering gulf moisture, a lot of heavy rain already being reported with this, and certainly, this is what's eventually going to bring in our next round every wet weather. showing you one more zoom, because the bigger of the two storms is just starting to get its legs. so across at this point northern and central portions of the rockies, sure doesn't look like heck of a lot. give it time. we've seen this happen before. those systems cross out of the rockies, enter the planes, grab some of the gulf moisture, and as we look at the water vapor loop here, all of you're getting in here is just surge of moisture, that's going to help feed moistures source of the storms coming in here. so two of them on the way, and i want to walk you through the pattern. call it mid week soaker, there is two of these systems coming along with so much moisture. for now beautiful day.

still, not quite as warm as it was yesterday, or the day before. but still going to be sunny as we head into tomorrow, get the morning in without a hitch. second half of the day, rain starts to build in from south to north, could start off as wintery mix lehigh valley and poconos, if there were window on wednesday to stay dry, it is early on, because we are going to see this retreat, next one move, in but eventually heavy rain takes over probably through the second half of say the morning drive, then it just gets heavier with time. heavy rain, winds kicks in, as well, that's going to stick with us here for awhile. we will still have lingering showers on thursday. that starts to gradually taper off on the back side of this. few flakes try to get in here. i don't think we see them though. future rainfall estimates, it comes down to the computer modeling, generally closing in on or just above an inch worth, what most of them are pegging, you know talking generally up to or just over an inch over the course of the entire window, which means,

out at the 6:00 hour. of course see full rush hour today, no doubt about it. new jersey 42 freeway at creek road looking good. looking busy now starting to see what we can expect on a monday morning, as you are push toward 295 this is what you are looking a l still traveler traveling at posted speeds, won't be for too much longer. construction 95 southbound, delaware avenue, closed that will be closed until this wednesday. traffic light malfunction still out there, roosevelt boulevard in both directions at pratt street. make note of that. now the more vehicles that get on the roadways certainly can slow you down whenever we have a traffic light malfunction it, will do so, especially in the 6:00 hour, back to you. >> learning more about the chopper crash caught on camera, in honolulu from bystanders who helped save the victims. they rescued the pilot and family of four after this tourist helicopter plunged from the sky last thursday. teen was strand in the seat as the helicopter began singing t took rescuers nearly ten minutes to free him and bring him to shore where critical care nurse alicia was waiting. >> we need to do what we can

where you had clearing sky, so beautiful sunrise there, but the trade off is of course that you have got the colder air in place. looking at other spots around the legion, 40 both in ac and at philadelphia international airport. you're up in the poconos at 30 degrees at this hour, but this promises to be a really nice day overall, expect to go see more and more sun with every passing hour, and not terribly chilly because of the bling of the clouds initially, and we brighten up for more sunshine later in the day, so 50 degrees by the time we hit the 3:00 p.m. hour. still above average, but doesn't really match the kind of warmth we are saw over the weekends, so little cooler by comparison, but, still above average, now, we are tracking not one but two storms, guys, and that's where this soggy mid week comes from. it is not going to be a wall-to-wall wash out however. there will be breaks along the way, and i'll tell when you your best dry weather opportunity is going to end up here. as we go forward in the show. so timing is everything, meisha, a we will do just that, time things out coming up. >> wonderful, thank you so much. who can complain about monday

when it is 50's in february? not i. good morning, everyone, just looking at the screen right behind me, what you are looking at is the schuylkill headlights, approaching belmont. this is one of the areas starting to heat up this morning, traveling little less than posted speeds in this area right now. and i would say that usually on a monday this would happen right around 6:30-ish just because of the shear volume that tends to hit the roadways little earlier monday through wednesday typically. so that's evidence by what we are seeing right now on the schuylkill, basically anywhere on the skewing right now looking pretty busy. make note of. that will for those of you headed out, blue route southbound route one, area actually looking real nice this morning, holding fairly steady, certainly, a lot of vehicles out there, as well, overall for giving the time it is, especially monday, blue route looking okay. 422 westbound approaching route 29, you can see looking actually pretty good on 422, ill know that that will be different moving into the 7:00 hour but right now just thinking about headed out the doorway on 422 great company. worlds of mass transit for

thank you. female president is struck and killed by a car in gloucester township new jersey. this happened last night around 9:00 on the 600 block of college drive. driver remained at the scene, and is cooperating with police. investigators are trying to determine what led to that crash. >> authorities charge 20 year old christopher bloomfield with vehicular homicide for last summer's deadly crash in somerton. investigators say, bloom fields was driving dangerously fast when he split his car in two on sandmeyer lane killing 17 year old sabrina roads and gonzalez and philippe hernandez. >> local man, man with local ties, is running with a purpose. he is honoring police officers who were killed in the line of duty. james, former corrections officer, from south jersey, he ran every day in january and now he is in the process of running 155 miles in february. each day he runs in a different state.

those miles represent the number of officers in that state who have died in the line of duty. >> this weekend he renee long with others for fallen police officer robert wilson, and other officers from pennsylvania. >> the negativity around law enforcement being like there is people out there doing good for them. he shouldn't have like a few people just put a blemish on a whole group. >> so far he has raised more than $2,000 for charity. >> police officers firefighters and military personnel enjoyed this weekend's warm weather skating at dilworth plaza first responders able to take part for free, how about that? mayor jim kenney and police commissioner richard roars on hand to show their support. the last week every skating for the season if you want to hit the ring you need to do so. ring closes february 28th, spring right around the corner. >> penn state student are probably getting some rest this morning after another successful fundraising dance that monday over the weekends. >> this weekends' thon raised more than $9.7 million.
