from the cbs broadcast center in philadelphia. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". oh, the rain has started it won't stop for awhile either. cbs-3 cameras in center city where it was all about the umbrellas and the raincoat. so just how long will you need that rain gear? going to be a while. we will get right over to meteorologist, katie fehlinger in the weather center with the details, oh, that rain, kate. >> i it is here it, looks like you said, here to stay for quite a while.

actually the first of two systems. we get one-two punch guys. looks as though we'll see the second system come in with a little more umf to it. second one means business, too. there are supports where you find g some icing, wintery precipitation, primarily though out to the maps, it is just rain. soy let's start thing off there, storm scan3 at the localized zoom, a swat of rain brunt of that actually out to sea but still nonetheless light to moderate rainfall, you notice the pink and purple, starts to show up there through the lehigh valley and pocono region, again the first of two systems, still going to be seeing additional rain, and likely will be relatively light by the time we hit the p.m. rush here, nonetheless it, continues really any time the rest of the day and into tonight. winter weather advisory is posted and it goes into effect in a hour, for the poconos, as well as northampton county. actually lasts until 9:00 on wednesday morning. for this, you can see, outside, pleasant valley middle and high school, 31 degrees, and it is cold enough, to support a little

bit of snow. in the live neighborhood network, here at our broadcast center, in center city philadelphia, it has low cloud deck, very gray skies, bit of breeze out, there but simply too mild for anything but rain, so while do you want to keep the umbrella on hand you're strictly looking at rain here in the city through the rest of this afternoon, light to moderate rain is what we expect. tonight, into wednesday morning, a little lull in the action, but, like we said, it is a one-two punch and storm two comes tomorrow brink withing it heavy rain, potential for flooding maybe even some severe weather. we'll outline that possibility for you a bit later in the show. erika, back to you. >> thank you. you can track the rain any time by downloading the free cbs philly weather app. available on itunes and google play. well, listen to this, fast-food freak-out caught on camera. philadelphia police are looking for a customer whose major tantrum allegedly injured a dunkin' donuts manager. "eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon joining us outside the store in south philly.

i know you spoke with a work beer what caused that woman just bizarre outburst, rahel? >> good afternoon, that worker tells me this incident left his manager with stitches. and it was ought caught on camera like the one behind me, and he says it was all apparently over a dollar and 76 cents. take a look at this surveillance video that philadelphia police released. now there is was the morning of february 12th, shortly before 7:00 a.m. see the suspect in the parking lot of the dunkin' donuts, and a dark color sedan. possibly a ford tour us. she placed her order, but then there is apparently some confusion because the worker tells me the total was 5.76. the suspect apparently claims she only had $4. it is at this point where the suspect appears to get very upset, began throwing the tip jar, the food on the counter, she knocks over the display case, the worker said she is now cursing at him and his manager, before she finally takes off. now the worker says when the

suspect through the tip jar, it was ceramic and it broke, that is what caused stitches to the manager. she is set to be okay. philadelphia police say once they identify this woman, she will be charged with aggravated assault. reporting in south philadelphia, rahel solomon, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". all right, rahel, thank you. a deadly shooting in merchantville, new jersey is under investigation this noon. a man was found shot along russell avenue off chapel avenue monday night. the victim was pronounced dead at kennedy hospital. he has not been identified. investigators urge anyone with information to call merchantville police or the camden county prosecutor's office. philadelphia is one of more than 40 cities slated to host demonstrations supporting apple security show-down against the fbi. the tech giant is picking up some big supporters, too. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo tells us why apple now want congress to join the conversation. >> the demonstration here at the apple store on walnut st. in center city set for later

testify before lawmakers. apple's ceo wants congress or the government to create a commission to review the issue of civil liberties in the digital age. bill gates says privacy versus protection is a good debate. >> i'm hopeful that government safeguards in country to country will be enough that people feel like this can work and so we have a great public debate about that. >> and former dhs assistant secretary, allen cone, says, this fight could affect everyone with a smart phone. >> it could very well and signal case with respect to privacy and digital communication. >> apple has until friday to appeal. the demonstration here in center city set for 5:30 tonight. there is another demonstration across the river at the cherry hill location, as well n center city, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> a big announcement from the obama administration today. they are smith ago plan to close detention center at guantanamo bay in cuba.

speaking roughly an hour ago, president obama said guantanamo bay does not advance our national security. >> it is counter productive to our fight against terrorists, because they use it as prophaganda in their efforts to recruit. it drains military re sore -- resources, with more than $450 million spent last year alone, to keep it running. and more than 200 million in additional costs needed to keep it open going forward for less than 100 detainees. >> now those detainees will be transferred to facilities both in the u.s. and in other countries. the proposal is part of owe bamm's last effort to make good on his un fulfilled 2008 campaign promise. all eyes on nevada today. as republican voters there pick who they want to run for president. cbs correspondent weijia jiang tells us why one candidate is feeling a lot of extra pressure at today's caucuses. >> donald trump has a message

across from philadelphia's city hall. it burned uncontrolled for nearly 20 hours. three firefighters were killed. they were later found on the 28th floor. a search crew went into to look for them they too became trapped. >> we couldn't fine our way out of. that will we had no air left. we were trapped in there, had no idea what we were going to do. i saw more heroic action on pure human you can't believe a guy could keep ongoing the way they were going. >> a lack every sprinklers, failed power, and water supply systems hampered fire fighting effort. the building was finally torn down in 1999. well, you're not going to see philadelphia's iconic love statue and love park today. the four letter landmark was moved this morning, around 10:00. its temporary home will be the northwest corner of dilworth park. the sculpture was lifted from it base, and transported across jfk boulevard, and it will stay there as love park undergoes renovations. the statue was installed back in 1976 for the city's

state, completely destroys a home this morning. our sister station kiro in seattle reports that two people are missing at this hour. the explosion was so powerful it, also blew out windows at elementary school about a thousand feet away. no word right now on what caused that blast. and, early morning fire, active shooter situation, bridges first responds tears this home in phoenix. police and firefighters brave gunshots, flames, and smoke, as they went to help shooting victims inside that burning home. investigators say, a male relative possibly a brother or son shot four family member then set the house on fire. >> four dead which includes suspect or the shooter in this particular case. we have a child that's still being worked actively. >> authorities are investigating what sparked this morning's violence. >> still ahead on "eyewitness news", a crazy video alert. unexpected video from outer space. what this mask man is

into thursday, before it finally is clearing out of here for friday. so this is multi day event obviously, wind also the other issue, there will be time frame where it is at its worse, we will get to. that will first and for most, walk you through future weather, mixing going on off to the north generally just rain for the rest of us, folks. we hit the typical p.m. rush. still with some lingering rainout, there and then there is a lull. granted you may have few little speckles of green that show up on the radar, but we will be on the air with virtually nothing to track initially at the local level. then it picks up again. and specially by night fall. 6:00 p.m. heavy rain starting to push in again, kate will have something interesting to track. so you want to stick with us for the updates, then lingering showers thursday, out of here. we put future rain and the into motion, we get you all the way through wednesday, and, you know, really not looking at too much in the way of ago lakes. see the next heavy round, accumulated up to or over 2 inches worth of rain in some
