i'm rahel solomon. erika has the day off. not a lot of snow out there. but it could still slow you down. katie is outside on the skydeck and meisha is watching the roads. katie, let's start with you. katie, still snowing out there? >> it is still snowing. so i broke out the umbrella. you know, tv hair, you know? you said it, big fat headache, more than anything, primarily, the roads have or just remained wet, you know, our dot crews do such great job of just prepping them ahead of time. but that said, there is not a heck of a lot to really shovel away with this. so, let's go ahead, start things off by going out to storm scan3, show you what's up up there at the moment on storm scan, brunt of the storm passing us by to the south. but we are just close enough that we're obviously getting in on the snow and some of that snow is falling with some steadier intensity, especially through delaware, especially down toward cape may county, atlantic, cumberland, likely the best when it comes to snow totals. but likely to dot best, only talking couple every inches,

guys. notice how it is deteriorating back northwestern side of. >> this so this will be whining down sooner than you think. winter weather advisory, however, still posted, at least until 9:00 this morning, that's primarily southeast new jersey or rather southeast pennsylvania, but through southern delaware, coastal new jersey, you might ends up seeing a little bit more snow out of this because it lingers longer, bit more moisture to work with, so that said you may end up with bit more than that two-inch cut off that we've got. but again winter weather advisory lasting until 1:00 in those locations, accumulation, though, as we've said, primarily on anything unpaved, car windshield, certainly here on the skydeck, weaver little bit of modest accumulation, as well, and my feet are wet now unfortunately. i wasn't thinking ahead to wipe off the little block that i'm standing on. so i have to go find a towel here, meisha a but that said, we move forward, great warming trends, much more on that later in the show. >> wet or not, katie, you look gorgeous throughout with that umbrella. good morning, everyone, happy friday, katie doing her best outside. we're inside the studio taking

a look at the roadways this morning, i have to tell you they are looking okay, looking very wet for friday morning, not typically what we see there is happened in the 4:00 hour, pushing into the 5:00 hour now. you can see, we have this accident, nine at south at cottman, center lane block for quite some time t looks like they're trying to get that pushed out of your way. but holy moly, already, you have a lot of back-up, because of this. and it isn't cleared out of the way yet. we've been talking about this now since about 4:30 this morning, so just make note of this, those every you just hopping on 95 southbound right around cottman, what you will be deeming with, until they get this out of the way, normally wouldn't be big deal, but turning into be quite the nuisance. i'll show you the vine, where we have some light crews out there, looks like they just left, which is great news for you. the eastbound vine past the broad street exit looking pretty good. as you can see from the glare of the light it is very wet out there. and under bridges, bridge decks, those side street, anywhere that could probably still be maybe frozen, you will get some slick spot out there. and even if it is just wet, can also be slick out there.

mass transit, real quick, patco speed line modified schedule running every 15 minutes, saturday, sunday, during the philadelphia flower show. airport line is bussing saturday, sunday, early morning between glennside and fernrock, and also, speed restrictions on these bridges, down to 35 miles per hour including the walt whitman bridge. rahel, back to you. >> thank, meisha. a south philadelphia restaurant is now a crime scene after a female cook is murdered in the kitchen. >> who did this and why? these are all questions detectives are asking this morning as they ramp up their homicide investigation. let's take to you video from overnight. a killing in the kitchen, calls to 911 came in about 9:00 thursday night, when third district police arrived, they found a woman, age 54, with her neck slashed watch

body bruised, pronounced dead in the kitchen of lee's cafe 500 block of washington avenue, near randolph street, in south philly. now, what's worth noting here is the restaurant's layout. the kitchen, where the cook died; in the basement. the take-out level is on the first floor, and the dining room is on the second level. so, there is a chance, suspect here, could have made their way in and out with relatively few eyes, even noticing. police point out the cook did not go down easily, items strewn about, sure signs they say of struggle. the victim was found with a wide slash through her neck, and also, a piece of equipment a top her body, surprisingly, the restaurant was open, with ten or so people inside, at least five customers, and four staff. >> we don't know what employees or customers did here, they were immediately transported to homicide, and they're being interviewed right now at eighth and race

by homicide detective. >> and police left here just short time ago. detective will also be back out here later to review surveillance footage of the area to see if they see a sign of it suspect, coming from the restaurant, also, too, the victim is not identified and no word yet on a motive. rahel, back over to you. >> justin, thank up. >> and police say a murder victim in west oaklane had no time to react before he was shot after 8:30 last night, still holding onto his bag of food when found dead on the 7500 block of may land street. the 39 year old cell phone and wallet were there, too, so it doesn't look like robbery was the motive. detective are going over surveillance video right now and working to identify the suspect. well, three of the four republican presidential candidates continue to tax against each other, and their first debate since super tuesday. while john kasich stayed above the fray, ted cruz and marco rubio went after donald trump.

rubio questioned trump's leadership capability, while cruz accused trump of flip flopping and questioned whether voters would elect him. >> when you nominate a candidate, who literally has been on every side of every issue, and in the course of this debate may be on two other sides before we're done, that is not how you win, and the steaks are too high. >> let me just -- i'll let you respond to that, mr. trump. governor, you're up next. >> me beating hillary clinton and very, very easily. >> okay, now, despite all of the hostility, all four presidential candidates said they would support the eventual republican nominee. and new jersey governor chris christie is standing by his decision to back donald trump. and will continue to campaign for him. at a news conference in trenton, he spoke about the moment that has now gone viral. you will recall christie standing behind trump in florida after super tuesday. the governor said there is nothing to read into it. he was simply listening to the gop candidate.

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live there now with a preview. good morning, jan. >> reporter: rahel, good morning. the theme of this year's flower show is explore america. it celebrate the 100 years of the national park service, and it is as beautiful as it sounds. i was just told that crews have been working here all night to get these exhibits complete. and they are finally now

complete. so this is your first look of what it will look like in here at the convention center come tomorrow when all of the displays open to the public. now, this is the start of the show. this is a big timber lodge. it showcases classic park architecture with its wood, stone, native american-inspired art. then guests can travel down one of three paths to view exhibit that are dedicate today showing off the beauty, the history, and the culture of the national park's all around the country. now, the flower show opens to the public tomorrow at 11:00 and runs through the 13th, but we are giving you a sneak preview today. we will be walking through the exhibit, talking about what you can expect to see this year, and you know what, rahel, you said it, it may be snowing outside, feeling so much like winter, but inside the convention center over the next week it is very much spring. the flower show again opens to the public tomorrow at 11:00. wait, we are taking you inside today. rahel, back into you. >> very exciting stuff. thanks, jan. saved with seconds to spare. see the dramatic rescue when

thieves, this time they smashed windows near rittenhouse square and got away with handful every slot. the latest incident of other similar crimes in the area. >> another smash and grab robbery, in center city, the target, another high-end retail store. this one, at 17th and walnut, in rittenhouse square. >> it is to has been happening frequently around the area, down further, and you just don't know now where it is going to happen. so, but yes, they are getting really bold. >> store surveillance video captured two men, one woman, smash ago store window at clothing early morning hours, quickly, grabbing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. >> the answer, quickly grab as many belongings and clothing and some of the clothing as they possibly can. ultimately, i believe around $12,000 worth of merchandise. >> police say these types of robberies seem to be happening more frequently. just been the past month,

century 21 store on market street, fell victim to an overnight robbery, thieves shattering a store window to gain entry, and nine mask suspect stormed into the newly opened bloomingdale's outlet at liberty place snatching thousands of dollars worth every jeans during business hours. >> they don't seem to be connected, just three individual cases here within the city. but they don't seem to be connect in the anyway thus far. >> police are looking to step up patrols and work with store owners about keeping their property safe. while shoppers remain vigilant about their own safety. >> we live in a city so i think people tends to not be as ville jacket as they should be. for store owners that's unfortunate. >> first surveillance video we've seen from any of the last three robberies in center city philadelphia, police are hoping that someone out there recognizes someone in that video. meantime, no arrest have been made in any of the cases just yet. at police headquarters,

natasha brown, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". philadelphia police are searching for a day care burglar, wait until you hear what he stole, the candy given to children. at night on february 25th, he stole lolipops from the around the clock day care at fifth and tabor. about 15 minute later, two blocks away, the same manna parentally robbed the little explorers day care stealing money from the register. in that case police believe the suspect after diapers and formula. all right, and, turning now to weather, so, little cold out there, roads are wet, but light at the ends of the tub snell. >> certainly looking ahead to nice warming, nice warming trends will take place. but earlier, the here and now, what everybody wants to focus on. what a.m. gig to run into when i get out the door here right? thankfully nothing too terrible. i think it will be more of big fat nuisance than anything. decent snow ability, we go full screen with that graphic right here, see forward, delaware, you already got

close to 4 inches on the ground, primarily unpaved surfaces northern cape may 2 inches so far. and just shy of an inch across new castle, burlington, and also here in philadelphia. .3 of an inch already, but again, primarily grass, car windshield, and anything unpaved. so, looking at storm scan, you will notice that there is of course radar 101, darker shades of purpose epp beginning to show up across the southern most counties where you ends up obviously with heavier snowfall intensity, because the grounds is relatively warmer by comparison, it just has a hard time sticking. and this frankly hasn't been the strongest is tell we've seen for our area, more intensity, and g up little bit as it pulls out to sea. that said, once it gets out of here we stay quiet for day and a half or so. but i want you to walk you through future weather, not too much to report. haphazard scattered pockets of snow, still expected to fall for the next two hours, as is this rotates away really see the northwest back edge deteriorate through the north and west most suburbs, really just going to be left with a little bit of news and

snowfall, down near the shore towns. and that's where you have the winter weather advisory lasting until is this afternoon, it goes out of effect much sooner than that, about 9:00 a.m. across the rest of the region. even by noontime, future weather still trying to pick up, might still be little bit of residual precipitation falling, it will be so light, likely with the light of day get little mixing going on here. now that said, it is completely out of here later tonight. chance to dry out. we have since upgraded our forecasted snowfall amounts through the southern and southeast most tear of our area simply because of the higher snowfall intents at this bands we've been finding on storm scan. watch it. >> could you end up with little more to truck through on the grass. from two to 4 inches in the spots t may have easier time sticking to the roads if it pounds down heavily long enough. coating to 2 inches again on the grass primarily what you are generally expecting the rest of the region. meanwhile, around the region we go here, looking forward in the forecast, talking mid and upper 50s with sunshine both weekends days, very weak disturbance triggers just quick sprinkle on sunday

morning, but then, i got to step out of the way so you can see the good stuff. look at the spike that goes on. you basically climb 10 degrees. monday, then another ten on tuesday. and then we expect to warm it all the way up to 70 on wednesday. talk about surge. and actually some sunshine meisha to go along with it. mine, does it get much better than this? >> no. i am wearing shorts on wednesday! >> good for you. do it. >> and sandals, and i don't know, tank top, whatever i can think of. good morning, everyone, happy friday. well, i've got some great news for my 95 commuters moving in the southbound direction at cottman. that accident has been cleared. this is moving in the southbound direction, this is where we had accident. right about here. blocking two lanes. but take a look at this, we're just in the 5:00 hour, and already traffic levels are fairly consistent, fairly busy, and building already. and they have been around that accident. so make note that far for those every you in and around this area. now let's see, i can't finds my little bar to clear that off my screen here.

nevertheless, know that if you are taking interstate 95, that this is casino of what you are dealing with right now, let me also say, that these were the levels that were starting to build in the 4:00 hour. whenever we see levels build like this, in the 4:00 hour, specially on a friday, and friday's tends to be one of the lesser travel days, this is tell tail sign even though it is just a little bit of snow, not dealing with any ice, or anything like that, even when we have this outside, you're going to be having a slow commute this morning. so make note that far for those every you sitting at home grabbing first cup of coffee with us, by the way, we're so happy you're waking up with us, give yourself few extra minutes, you will certainly need it. overall another area we were looking at 95 the headlights moving in the northbound direction at washington avenue, i click, go here, even though you're still going to see migrate artistry. take a look at this, winter weather conditions, use caution. this is still out there. and we've got speed restrictions on the bridges, as well. rahel, back to you. >> all right, meisha, thank you. >> and talk about being in the right place at the right time.

some sheriff deputies witness a crash then save the driver from the burning wreckage. take a look. the dispute wrist on their way to a career fair on tuesday, when they saw a car speed past them and hit some trees. they used their bear hands to rip the door open and pull the driver from the smoking car. just two minutes later, the car exploded and burst into flames. the driver hurt his leg, but he's alive, thanks to the heroes. good job for them. >> more video you just have to see as this clumsy thief get away nearly foiled when he get tripped up on his way out after wal-mart in south carolina now, watch, he stumbles, falls, right into an s.u.v., driving by the front door. well, he managed to get back up and run away. police say he stole $40 worth of meat and they are still looking for him now. >> a fashion emergency ends with a visit from the police. hear at do-able rena little girl was desperate for help. plus:
