will start to roll in from the west, little weak disturbance coming through tonight could bring few snow showers to the region so this morning, mostly clear, cold, 20's, three's, by the afternoon, clouds will start to thicken up. so limited sunshine, overall just chilly day for early march. high temperature struggle to get to 45 degrees around philadelphia. looks like shore lower 30's, we time out snow showers, second half of the weekend talk about 70 degrees temperatures returning, as well, at full forecast coming up in a few minutes, back to you. >> winter not done with us yet, thank you. two men in custody this morning after shot are fired at philadelphia police. the intense moments unfolding in the city's frankford section. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt. >> considering nobody was hurt, all happened tonight about 7:00, 5300 block of hedge street. undercover detective in the

area dealing with some narcotics warrant, at that point, they say that they heard several gunshots in the area, then told according to detective that four men opened fire on police car. there was one detective, sitting inside, luckily, that detective was not injured. several shots were fired directly at this police vehicle. so, which is very brazen, and it is very stupid to be firing a gun at anyone specially a police officer, that's out here to protect everyone. looking for two more suspect, if you have any information, give police a call, you can remain anonymous, reporting in frankford, david spunt, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> would be robbery victims turns the table on his robber. police say man tried to rob another man, so, the victim pulls out gun and started shooting. it happened yesterday

afternoon, around 5:30, at the busy intersection of broad and allegheny avenue. the 23 year old man was shot three times in the right leg, and twice in the left leg, during the attempted robbery. the suspect was taken to temple where he is in stable condition, and being held as a prisoner. >> community stunned over the hazing of a local football team. some student speaking out about the shocking detail, "eyewitness news" reporter natasha brown has the latest on the investigation at connestoga high school. >> i don't believe this happened, no. >> utter disbelief from connestoga senior, he is a member of the football team and refuses to believe the allegations of hazing that have evolved into a criminal investigation. >> this is just bullying. and in chester county, we won't stand for bullying. >> says the football team conducted hazing ritual the same day every week. they gave it the homophobic

fifth and washington, win was found with slashed neck in the kitchen of the restaurant thursday night. there is $20,000 reward for information lead to go her killer. >> plymouth township police need the public's help to ida female who allegedly stole a puppy. take a look at this surveillance video recorded at playful pets on ridge pike. the suspect is seen snagging a bishop poodle mix puppy and walking out of the store. if you recognize this person, you are asked to call police. >> spring is in the air at the pennsylvania convention center. 2016 philadelphia flower show opens today. anita oh, is there where the doors will open in just a few hours, good morning, anita. >> good morning, taking escape from the chilly temperatures by headed to california here at the redwoods exhibit here at the philadelphia flower show. what you are looking at inch interest cat details, have taken so much time to build.

this exhibit in particular is one of my favorites, because of the amount of deal tail that there is, and joining me now to talk about this is allen gauche of the pennsylvania horticultural society. can you describe what we're look looking at here? >> americans institute of flour and designers, national organization based on dozens of their design presser around the country. each one every them works in a different aspect of their exhibit each year. this year in keeping with the national park theme they interpreted the giant redwoods, did fantastic job. called the it walking through the redwoods, you can actually walk around, through the exhibit, and through this gigantic version of a redwood tree, and when you get inside it, you look up, you see roses, and beautiful red orchids, and these fantastic chandeliers they call this the chandelier tree. it is very, very creative job. looking newspaper the interior of a tree, you really feel

like you're surrounded by one every these giants. >> yes, this is one of my favorite parts. really is so complex, the way that they've crafted this entire exhibit as well. but, it is not just a beautiful -- this show isn't just beauty. it is not just a competition, it is also a fundraiser. so can you tell us more about that? >> this show is the major fundraiser for the pennsylvania horticultural society. it is the main way that we support the year-around programs that we do. so every single ticket supports the planting every trees, throughout the city of philadelphia, the creation of community gardens, in our city harvest programs, which raise vegtables for families who are in need, who don't have access to easily found healthy food. and we transform landscapes, and all of the neighborhoods around the city. we take vacant land, put down grass, and trees, and bring attract redevelopment also create gardens, pocket parks in those neighborhoods.

and of course we work on many of the most cherished public spaces throughout the city of philadelphia, places like logan circle, the aids all ya garden, are all because people support the flower show and support phs. so it is very, very important, to come to the show, that way, giving back to the -- giving back to this region. >> so much to learn as well, so much history. this show the theme this year explore america. it is inspired by the national park service. so if you want to come check it out today you can. the doors open for the members at 8:00. and for the general public, at 11:00. for now live at the pennsylvania convention center, anita oh, i send it back to you. >> thank you, i've been trying to garden for years. still haven't quite figured it out. beer and bagels, seems like unlikely combo, but fueling business at one fishtown shop. our justin finch checked out the place becoming quite popular with locals in the know. >> over at philly style bagels, the dough is stretched and pulled, sliced and wade,

rolled, boiled, and baked, like at most bagel shops. but back to the boiling. there is beer and water in that pot. a unique tweak to the average bagel recipe. >> we are sitting around with some friends, and drinking some yards ipa. so we were like, hey, why don't we just put this into the boil instead of putting your typical malt or hon. >> i ask philly style bagel co-own or jonathan and jonathan, they'll tell you they didn't set out to be bagel -- bagel makers it, seemed the craft called out to them. >> we made a b we didn't think how we would be serving it. and we made a batch of bagels on the fly. this yes so good, because so fresh. i mean, kinds of realized we want to offer that experience to everyone. >> from the cured salmon inspiration, the duo began perfecting their process, but keeping their day jobs at shot tower coffee in queen village,

fifth time the charm. the rocket soared into space to successfully deliver a commercial satellite into orbit. it blasted off from florida's cape canaveral air force station after series of delays. later the rocket landing on drone ship at sea was not a successful. astronaut scott kelly settling back into home back at home after his return from a historic mission in space. first news cons friend about his year long assignment. mark albert tells us, nasa hopes to study kelly to see how space affect the body over long periods of time. >> scott kelly met with reporters friday at the johnson space center in houston. and described how his body an is jousting back on earth. >> my level of, like, muscle soreness, and fatigue, is a lot higher than last time. i think coming back to gravity is harder than leaving

again, clear skies, cold, though, in buena vista township. and we check in with her comment, cold start, need those layers on this morning. so that's for sure. let's see what's happening at the shore, we take live look at the beach patrol headquarters in margate. look at that, getting ready for nice sunrise in about ten minutes or so, still have the snow on the beach right now. and surf starting to calm down little bit. but good start to our saturday with the clear skies, but then we bring in the clouds, ahead of the next system, talk about what's happening. chilly weekends, temperatures below average, both days, saturday and sunday, then some snow showers arrive later tonight then next week talk about the big march warm upcoming in our forecast, clear skies over us right now, eastern pennsylvania, all of new jersey, and delaware. you go to central pennsylvania out toward lancaster, harrisburg, we start to see the clouds building in, from the west, there is our next system, weak clipper system, snow showers flying out near cleveland, by the time it get here it, will lose some of the moisture, but still we have a show to the see few snow showers mainly overnight

tonight. so, today, partly sunny skies, cooler than average in the 40's, here comes the weak system passing by moving off shore for sunday afternoon. so morning snow shower possible sunday. then we see some sunshine returning. high pressure starts to build off shore for monday. this is a nice pattern, if you like milder weather. we start to see 50's returning monday, maybe even close to 60, and then 70 degrees temperatures by the middle of next week. here's what to expect overnight with the weak disturbancement some rain and snow showers, mainly between two a.m. and 8:00 a.m. sunday morning, isolated area could see light dusting, mainly on non-paved surfaces, gradual clearing arrives sunday afternoon. so, for today, again, just increasing clouds overall not a bad day. then we keep things dry tonight, so if you have evening plans around the city or anywhere across the region looks pretty good. 2:00 a.m., 3:00 a.m., we start to see little batch of snow rolling on through near the city in part of south jersey and delaware, not everybody sees this. and this breaks up by about seven, 8:00 sunday morning,

then for sunday afternoon clearing skies. temperatures today, slow warm up into the 40's, mid 40's, at best, few degrees below average this time of year. tonight not as comb. so we are close to freeze nag lot of locations, and then tomorrow, with the afternoon sunshine, mid four's, maybe even upper 40's. here's the trend. so we have the jet stream over us right now, that's why it is cold, colder than average today and tomorrow. that little trough or dip in the jet start to move out for sunday afternoon. look at this, big ridge in the jet stream, you see the miler air moving northward from the south. monday, tuesday, wednesday, and this is just down right warm by the middle of next week. today, though, chilly, partly sunny, 45 degrees. then tonight, few snow showers overnight with a low of 3358 greets monday, upper 60s close to 70 tuesday, and easily reaching 70 degrees on wednesday, then we see some rain showers returning next thursday. rahel, back over up. >> no complaint here. thanks, justin. >> upper darby own tina fay takes on new role for movie

property simpson once owned. >> announced friday investigators now test ago knife that a construction worker allegedly found on the property formerly owned by o.j. simpson. >> within the last month lapd became aware after item allegedly recovered by a citizen at the rockingham property possibly during the demolition of the site. >> a work here helped level the home in 1998, says he turned the knife over to an off-duty lapd officer years ago. the lapd says when detective discovered the now retired officer had a knife, they launched an investigation. they said the former officer believed the case was closed and kept it. >> lapd officer, he didn't know to turn it in? >> i don't know what his statement is. that's the information i have at this time. >> the lapd robbery homicide dif significance now testing the knife for hair, fingerprint, and other dna. >> police source respect tell cbs news it is a buck knife.

convention center where the doors will open in just few hours from now to gave you a preview. good morning, anita. >> good morning there is year's theme is the explore america, which is celebrating 100 years at the national park service. we have shown hawaii, shown you california. here's independence hall, philadelphia, where we are coming back local then here is yellowstone national park, and here to talk about all of this is susan dolan, with the national park service. can you talk about the importance people coming here looking at the showers, they're beautiful, so much to be learned, you've been with them for almost 20 years. so what's the important in what can pea learn from you today? >> people can celebrate with us their national parks, and the 100 years that have passed since the national park service was first create in the 1916, the system has grown from few national parks, in those early days, to 410 unit

of the system today. >> and feel good about this and look forward with us to the next century of national park service. >> very exciting. this has a lot of history behind it, can you talk about what we're looking at here? >> yes. we are looking at an exhibit that was inspired by yellowstone national park, that particularly, by the wild fire that occurred in 1988 very significant devastating wild fire in the sum their burned millions of acres of the park and the park service took fairly courageous exhibit to allow the fire to burn and have value in regenerating the echo system, very soon after the fire we began to see life re emerging from the scorched trees, and here, in this exhibit, we can see score of

the dead trees with whole lush of new life emerging from beneath them. the fire moved through, and allowed seats to germinate, and today we see a new echo system replacing the old at yellowstone. >> it kind of is representative of the 100 years that have passed and 100 more years that you guys hope to have? >> that's true. rebirth, re beginning, yellowstone is experiencing that. and as the agency of the national park service we are very much looking forward to the new generation. broader relevance in the national parks, and doing our best to help eco systems be as resilient as possible. >> thank you so much for your time today. you want to come check out the flower show, education and also a lot of beauty, as well. come, check it out, if our member at 8:00.
