"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live, outside police headquarters, with more on how fellow patrons jumped in to help the victim. good morning, justin. >> reporter: rahel, good morning there is all happened north philly church's chicken last night. >> this worker was struck in his chest, his stomach and lower back. he's now recovering at temple hospital. at last check, in critical condition. meantime, police are now looking for a suspect, a gunman, last seen walking away from that scene. the church's chicken off north broad, west erie, closed sunday evening at as philadelphia police conduct crime scene investigation. a shooting that has left 19 year old church's worker critically wounded and this witness in shock. >> it was -- he was talking to me, god why me, why me, why

me. he was sweating, i was wiping his sweat off his head, i was with him the whole time until the ambulance came. >> about 5:25 p.m. sunday, police say the teen worker was wiping down tables, next to a complaining customer. witness keith parker recalled what he saw. >> he was doing his job, but the guy kept saying, you know, you can't be doing this displaying we believe the offender was inside eating. and at which time he became involved in a verbal altercation with a employee. >> parker and police report the customer never pulled off, instead, he got out a gun, and fired at the teen, whose brother was also working, and tried diffusing the tension. >> the second employee happened to be the brother of the first employee, attempted to squash the argument between both parties, at which time the offender, produced large handgun, striking the complaint and the several times. >> after the shots were fired, the shooter described as black male in his 50's with a gray beard, and wearing a black

trench coat and black pants, left on foot. last seen walking south on broad street. >> and this morning, police are continuing to review surveillance footage to get good sense where the shooter may have wandered off to. at this point, that victim just 19 years old is recovering at temple. again, shot in his chest, stomach, lower back, at last check, he was in critical condition. rahel, back over to you. >> justin, hopefully someone can identify that sheeter, thank you very much. and less than 2 miles from the shooting a woman is found brutally murdered inside a home. it happened on the 2500 block of north 17th street. investigators say the 32 year old woman was beaten to death possibly with a hammer. no details on suspect at this time. >> america is mourning the loss of former first lady nancy reagan. she died at her california home yesterday, at the age of 94. terry okita is live in semi valley in california where she will be burried next to her husband. good morning, terry.

i guess i never really gave much thought to the acidity in any foods. never thought about the coffee i was drinking having acids. it never dawned on me that it could hurt your teeth. my dentist has told me your enamel is wearing away, and that sounded really scary to me, and i was like well can you fix it, can you paint it back on, and he explained that it was not something that grows back, it's kind of a one-time shot and you have to care for it. he told me to use pronamel. it's gonna help protect the enamel in your teeth. it allows me to continue to drink my coffee and to eat healthier, and it was a real easy switch to make.

>> at least one person has been killed in the california flooding aftermath. >> so much rain fell outside sacramento nearly 3 inches in 24 hours, a woman died when her car got trapped on this highway, another driver died in san ramon. heavy rain, strong wind, in northern and central california downed trees and snapped power lines. in southern california, emergency crews pulled several people out of the los angeles river. rough waters in oregon left three surfers stranded, forcing this coast guard rescue. wind gusts there is reached more than 50 miles per hour.

chopper three over the accident that's now just been cleared. so if you are just waking up with us, this is great news, blocking all lanes for awhile there, then you were squeezing by one lane, now this is kind of residual of what we are kind of seeing this is where the accident was again, schuylkill eastbound past montgomery, the two right lanes blocked, looking good now, but let me show you i'll flip to our camera shot and show you where we had backups, you can get an idea what we are looking at again the schuylkill eastbound, before montgomery, see what i can see, skip right past that, eastbound vine ramps 95 north, this is where we had disable vehicles, also cleared, so the good news is schuylkill clear, eastbound vine ramp to 95, that's also cleared. in the world of mass transit, take a look at this, route 11 trolley eastbound delays because of auto accident that's blocking those rales, make note of that. make sure to check your schedules on line, two other things cleared great news for us hitting the roadway now, lincoln drive rittenhouse one lane blocked there, also cleared, delaware 495 that

construction north between 95 and 12th street, that left lane was blocked. that is now also since cleared. so all of those areas specially in the schuylkill being cleared great news as we move toward our main hour at the 7:00 hour, rahel, back to you. >> great news inch died. tired driver caused a lot of damage this morning, in collingswood, new jersey. investigators say his car struck several parked vehicles along crescent boulevard near taylor avenue around 3:30 this morning. that driver is undergoing treatment, no word however on how serious his injuries are. and take a look at this crash overnight. in philadelphia's grays ferry neighborhood. driver lost control, crashing into a house, on the 1300 block of south 28th street. l & i now checking to make sure the home is secure. officials say there were no injuries, the cause is under investigation. a new jersey father behind bars charged with killing his young son will be in court today for hearing. dj creato was arrested in january, and has pleaded not guilty to killing his three

year old son, brendan. the young boy's body was found last october, partially submerge in the water, at cooper river park. prosecutors say the 22 year old killed his son to apiece a teenage girl he was dating. >> police are searching for a robber who seems to have a thing for 7-eleven. he struck several of the convenience stores across camden county. police say he has hit stores in mt. ephraim, bellmawr, gloucester township and magnolia. the robbery at this store magnolia is the last of four that have occurred. happened on superbowl sunday. around 11:15 in the morning. watch the surveillance video, suspect you can see there was armed with a box cutter then jumps over the counter. if you have any information you are asked to call police. >> a couple notable changes in last night's debate between hillary clinton and bernie sanders. both candidates frequently interrupting each other, jan carabeo liver in the cbs-3 sat center to break it all down for us, good morning, jan.
