cbs3 sources confirmed the eagles have traded the running back and he's not the only player leaving the team. it was a beautiful start to the week and a pretty nice night out here on the sky deck but it's going to get even warmer. in fact we can be breaking records two days this week. i'll tell you just how warm we're going to get. also, gunshots fired at a chester county home. why authorities say one of the children inside was the target. all of those stories and much more straight ahead. we begin tonight with developing story. new jersey state trooper struck by a car along interstate 295. good evening, i'm ukee washington. >> i'm nicole brewer. jessica dean has the night off. now we're told that trooper is seriously hurt after being struck while standing outside his patrol car attending to a car fire in the southbound lanes in west deptford. the driver remained on scene. no one else was hurt. all southbound lanes and northbound have been closed for more than two hours tonight and still remain closed at this ho hour. >> also developing right now, a woman and two young girls are

seriously injured and they were hit by a tow truck. a good samaritan then rush the children to the hospital. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is at temple university hospital right now where the injured woman is being treated. greg? >> reporter: ukee, good evening. right now police say that 24-year-old woman was the most seriously injured. she was rushed here to temple university hospital unconscious and in critical condition after police say she crossed against the light with two young children all three struck by a tow truck. chopper three over the scene at b street and ontario. where a woman and two young girls struck while crossing the road. >> upon police rifle, they found a 24-year-old female who was laying on the highway. she was suffering from head trauma. she completely unconscious. medics were working on her. medics transported her to temple hospital where she's presently in critical condition. >> reporter: chief inspector

scott small says a person nearby a good samaritan was able to rush the two children to saint christopher's hospital. about two blocks from the scene. both girls suffering from city head injuries. >> the four-year-old child is in critical condition with severe head trauma. the one-year-old has some bruises to the head and neck but that one-year-old female is in stable condition. >> reporter: police say the driver of this tow truck hit the three victims. but remain on the scene cooperating with investigators. and police say it does not appear the driver of the tow truck is responsible. >> it appears that the driver of the tow truck did have the green light. >> reporter: police say the driver of that tow truck is a 53-year-old man and investigat investigators say impairment does not app per to be a factor in this case. we're live here at temple university hospital in north philly, i'm greg argos, cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> okay, greg, thank you. in sports news now the eagles are cleaning house and tonight the birds make two major trades as new head coach doug

pederson continues to make his own mark. lesley van arsdall is in our sat center with who is going where. lessly. >> that's right. eagles making some monster trades. they continue this large scale spring cleaning project. ridding the roster of failed chip kelly moves cbs3 has confirmed eagles have traded demarco murray to the tennessee titans. murray comes to the titans with four years remaining on that five-year, $40 million contract he signed with the eagles last off season. the trade cannot be announced officially until wednesday at 4:00 o'clock. it's unclear what they're going to get in return but they will create some cap space. cbs3 has also confirmed eagles will be trading byron mack well and key company alonso to the dolphins in return for multiple draft picks. of course, all of these moves are what fans are talk bowing night. >> hope does he better than did he on the eagles. a lot better than did he on the eagles. i'll an eagles man don't get me wrong. it's not the kind of running back we needed. >> chip kelly all over again.

"eyewitness news" spoke to the attorney for one of those officers who is still recoveri recovering. >> he's the same, very significant physical injuries in this case some of which would ultimately be permanent it look like. >> we're confident that the district attorney's office will prosecute anyone who was

involved in this situation regardless of had they are or where they're standing in life. >> spokesperson for the district attorney says they are still investigating and there's still no timeline on when or if charges could be filed. verdict has been reached in erin andrews lawsuit over secr secretly filmed nude video during hotel stay. sports reporter was awarded $55 million in damages. the suit name the owner of the national marriott, the group that manages the hotel michael barrett the man who filmed andrews by tampering with the peep hole. video that was recorded was released oh and line in 2009. >> a little girl is just inches from disaster as gunfire goes flying through home while she's watching tv. the man had fired the shots the same man whose out on bail charged with sexually her two months ago. about the sometime he almost lost his little birl. >> i heard one shot. next thing i know there was a pause and then boom boom boom boom boom. five more shots. >> reporter: it happened early sunday morning. when police say 63-year-old douglas cohen unloaded a revolver into their home. the little girl was sitting on the couch inches away from the bullet trajectory. her sister was also home. dad called 911. >> got something out of his car. he bent over and went like this, and he walk towards the trailer and i was lookin looking out wee window in the kitchen. peeping through the blinds. >> history between the next door neighbors. back in january cohen was arrested and charged with sexually as abusing this man' daughter. she's under the age of 10 and he's asked us not to use his name or her exact age. authorities say cohen had a court appearance related to his sexual abuse charges this week. >> that is a tremendous act of violence. really designed to frighten the day lights out of that child. >> bullets went through the home and into the home next door.

but no one was hurt. after firing the shots police say cohen fled in hess car he was later found with the car flipped over. detectives found 36 rounds of ammunition inside. but for the grace of god and dumb luck, we'd be looking at a child murdered today. >> reporter: both sisters are stave with another family memb member. while their dad anxiously waits for them to come home. >> i hope he dies in jail and rots in jail for the -- who knows if he did this before to anyone else. >> cohen is facing charges from his arrest in january. authorities here in west chester have added witness intimidation and attempted murder to those charges. he's behind wars bars on a million dollar bail. report in west chester david spunt cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> the haddon township man accused of of killing his three-year-old son appeared in court in camden today for a brief status hearing. lawyers for david creato, jr. say they are preparing for trial. prosecutors say the 22-year-old killed his son brendon last

october to stop his teenage girlfriend who dislike children from leaving him. the child's body was found in the woods hours after he reported him missing. his next court appearance is april 18th toddler safe and sound after being left home alone on the mainline. 2.5 years old boy found by police at the regency apartments in rad for. police say he was living in filthy conditions and that the stove was on for heat. the boy's father stanley hampton and his female companion brittany mcfadden are facing charges to night. radnor police got a tip the boy might be home alone after a neighboring police department stopped hampton on a drug char charge. >> former first lady nancy reagan will be laid to rest this friday during a private funeral in california. flowers and cards pay tribute to nancy reagan outside the ronald reagan presidential library and museum. former first lady will lie in repose on wednesday and thursday. she'll be married next to her husband of 52 years.

"eyewitness news" in king of prussia where septa plans to expand its norristown high speed line. the rail service would also go to upper merion township the route would include five stops and park and ride lot for commuters at henderson road. septa calls this route the locally received alternative. two more peteings are set for march 9th and 15th in norristown and king of prussia. from yard sales to missing pets occasionally adds for local services we're used to seeing hodgepodge of signs on utility poles. >> but have you ever noticed there are yellow grids on many of the poles you pass on the street. it prompted viewers like frank burns and anthony ricci to write. they asked what are those yellow grids nailed to utility polls in our area? it's a good question, guys, so take a look at the

♪ pennsylvania governor tom wolf signed an executive order today raising the minimum wage for state workers and contractors. the rate now increase to 10.15 an hour. it's been 7.25. it's all part of the governor's jobs that pay initiative. the governor also called on lawmakers to increase the minimum wage statewide. our march warmup may you forgetting about the snow and thinking of spring and allergies that come with it. some people are already suffering. experts say this year's allergy season could be especially bad and that it's starting earlier than normal. the asthma center which measures pollen contessas balmy temperatures around the globe will lead to an explosion of pollen in the coming weeks. it's estimated 50 million americans suffer from seasonal allergies.

allergies are nothing to look forward to, this taste of spring has people anxious to get outside. >> that of course includes our vittoria woodill she's life at the art museum. you were basking in the spring like sun earlier today, weren't you? >> reporter: bark in it doesn't even begin to describe how much fun i had. you know, i take my outdoor missions pretty seriously as you've seen in my snow day coverage. so today when they told me tori go ahead, gosh outside and attack spring and see what you can find. that mission led me to franklin square a take a look. what a terrific day to be in philadelphia. with the sunlight pouring over our city, the 60-degree temperature had me saying goodbye to the news van and -- i'm opting for other means of transportation. push mike pedals to the concrete the wind in my face and sun in my shades there was no better place to go than to the park. this is how cbs3 does spring. hello, franklin square. with the mist coming off the

center fountains franklin square plays the perfect place to cool off your spring fever and have fun and guess what, it's celebrating its tenth birthday. >> this park for many years totally abandoned and neglected. and over the years, residents around here came to the park when it was nothing to see. people appreciated it. playground is free. it has all kinds of fun things to do from swings to things to climb, carousel is great. classic ferrated difficulties and children. >> a classic that tends to play favorites. >> why did you bring your son to franklin square. >> this is one of his favorite places to come. >> why is that. >> he likes to ride the carous carousel. >> maybe all of us can ride the carousel. >> that would be good. >> right? >> cool. family outing. >> i think i'm going to pick this beautiful one right here. >> like mary poppins. >> while there's much more to do like play a full holes of mini golf from jersey to philadelphia,.

you know what, can't complain about a few stink bugs when you got 70s in march. >> hello. >> last march we only had three days in the 66. zero days in the 70's. we've already had three days in the 60s this march. and 70s are on the way. let's take look what happened today. we'll take to you a live look at storm scan3. you can see not much going on everything looking pretty quiet out there right now. it is a quiet evening and it was quiet day. time lapsed video of how the day shook out. few people out walking on the boardwalk enjoying a nice stroll in what feels almost like summer temperatures. maybe not summer but at least late spring like memorial day weekend temperature outside through the next few days. storm scan3 shows what's happening. warm front draped right about here. some showers with it. thesing from progressing to the north and should miss our area but a few more clouds overnight to tomorrow morning you may wake up not to full sunshine and blue skies like today. some sun through the afternoon and it will turn out mostly

sunny through the afternoon hours as well. our high today in philadelphia got to 61 degrees. making it the third day in the 60s this month. 64 in allentown was the high and got to 65 in reading. and 65 in lancaster and you can see all this warmth down to the south. 70s lurking just off to the south and west that gets here tomorrow. sunny and beautiful in the afternoon looks like we'll hit 70 degrees. nice warm down sloping wind from the west. realing going to help temperatures sky rock. on wednesday we're talking about record breaking warmth headed for the mid 70s on wednesday around 75 degrees. again that feels more like late may or early june. than it does early march and record tying warmth on thursday. 76 degrees on thursday. you can see where this frontal boundary is. notice the cooler air locked off to the north but in our area things looking great. boston may get hit with the cooler air. but it does look as though the warmth sticks around for us. it builds tomorrow into wednesday. thursday may be the warmest day.

on friday the cool air drives to dive back in new england it might be slightly cooler with a few more clouds friday looking good as well the records we challenge. wednesday's record 73 from 2000 sand. break that. thursday's record 76 from 10 years ago. we will at least tie that. looking at a high of 76 degrees on thursday. overnight patchy clouds not as cold as recent nights certainly 46. you don't need the heavy coat tomorrow morning and it's mostly sunny and gorgeous for tomorrow at 70 degrees. 75 on wednesday. 76 thursday. we're near 70 again friday. we can hit it friday. over the weekend a few more clouds maybe a shower here or there. but still we're in the low 60s. even though that looks cool compared to the 70s it's still about 10 plus degrees above average. >> loving it. >> thanks kate. >> next tonight lesley is here with sports. >> yes. >> hi lesley. >> will what will the eagles look like. the eagles continue to knock down what chip kelly tried to build. huge at the time for the flyers
