southbound before collings avenue on the shoulder, erika, back to you. >> thank you, what starts as an accident investigation ends with a new jersey state trooper seriously hurt. it happened along interstate 295 in gloucester county. that trooper is now at cooper university hospital, where "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joining us now, justin, good morning. >> erika, good morning, for this trooper every second was crucial after that crash. he was air lifted here to cooper with serious head and other injuries. and then he was rushed right into surgery. overnight new jersey state troopers in uniform, officials and loved ones were seen coming and going, from cooper's emergency trauma center vigil of spore for the trooper air lifted here monday night. suffering from serious head injuries, after being hit by a car along i295 southbound near exit 23, in the west depford gloucester county area. tells "eyewitness news" about 8:00 p.m. monday the trooper was outside of his cruiser on

the highway, investigating a car crash resulting in fire. then, a second car drove into the rec scene, striking the trooper, who was then helicoptered to cooper and brought into surgery. the initial trooper involved crash investigation closed portions of 295 south and north for hours. those lanes reopened overnight. and erika, back out live just a new development, we do now have the name and age of that trooper. he is trooper sean cohen, age 31, again, sean cohen age three; erika, just learned that he has passed away as a result of his injuries overnight. we can also tell you there are report of a second injured person, we are not sure at this time if that person was involved in that first car crash resulting in fire, or the second car crash involving trooper cohen here. we are awaiting more updates on this crash investigation. at this point we have not heard any word yet on any charges for that female driver. we'll bring you much more when

we get it. for now live in camden, justin finch cbs-3 "eyewitness news" back to you. >> our thought go out to that trooper's family. thank you for the update. >> a woman and two girls are injured after they were struck by a tow truck. it happened while the victims were crossing the street last night at b and ontario streets in kensington. an eyewitness returned those girls age one and four to the hospital. the four year old were told suffered the most serious injuries and in critical condition. their 24 year old mother also in critical condition. investigators believe that tow truck driver did have the right of way. >> from witnesses, as well as a business, the exterior cameras, initially it, does appear that this 53 year old tow truck driver did have a gwen light. >> the 53 year old driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police. >> a wild night in the city as police track two atv riders from somerdale to north

philly. chopper three bass flying along with the police helicopter as those suspect, you see there, darted in and out of traffic recklessly. they managed to stash their vehicles and get off on foot. it is illegal to operate atv's on philadelphia public streets. investigators blame fallen tree on the tracks for derailing commuter train in central california. corridor express was caring more than 200 passengers from silicon valley to stockton. about 45 minutes east of san francisco, one of the cars fell into a swollen creek. nine people were hurt, four seriously. >> voters in michigan, hawaii, mississippi and idaho have primaries or caucuses today. at least 150 republican delegates are up for grabs. don champion reports, democrats are choosing candidates in two of those state. campaigning in mississippi monday night, donald trump kept ted cruz in his cross hairs. >> lying ted cruz really is a

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joining us now at cooper hospital in camden. justin? >> reporter: erika, good morning, just minutes ago, new jersey state police announced and confirmed the death of 31 year old trooper, sean cull inch. several state police cruppers out here, loved ones arriving night to cooper er overnight where he was taken in for surgery. he was helicopter here with serious head injuries after being struck along i295 southbound near mile marker 23.4 in depford township gloucester counsel i. we also know he was there responding to vehicle crash with fire in that area. we are also told there were other fire and police

emergency officials thereon scene with their lights on and sirens also sounding. however, a car driven by a 22 year old female, collided with the trooper, as he was walking near that accident scene. that driver did remain at the scene of that crash as is trooper cullen was airlifted to cooper with the serious head injuries. he was taken into surgery. he was pronounced dead at about 12:30 this morning, we are told that officials here announced his passing to his fellow troopers, and loved ones who were gathered in the waiting room. now at this point, officials tell us there are no charges or tickets filed for that driver who did remain on scene. they tell us that this accident is still very much under investigation. erika, back over to you. >> justin finch, thank you for the update. passengers say they're stunned, everyone made it out alive. more than dozen people are injured after their train derailed plunging into a creek in california. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joining us now monitoring these latest development live from the satellite center, good

morning. >> good morning there is train derailed in a rural area of central california just about 45 miles outside of san francisco. fourteen people were injured, when the train left the tracks, and plunged into that creek. it was very tricky rescue situation for both first responders and passengers aboard that train. and now investigators this morning say they do believe they have an idea about how this happened. >> the ace number ten commuter train, traveling from san jose, to stockton, monday night, when a fallen tree reportedly derailed the first two cars. passengers, relieved to walk away from the crash, recall confusion at the moment of impact. >> that part of the track can get little rock i in i weigh. and at first it felt kind of like that. then after a split second you realize, no, this was something a lot more serious. >> rich howell in the second car which derail but remained upright. he and other made their way to the front car on it side and partially submerged in the creek water. >> i wasn't sure if we were going to turn over or not.

as soon as i knew we were stable, started listening for the screams. people were crying for help. >> a way to help people over the door, quite a ways off the grounds at that point in time. >> crews fought fast moving current to pull pass inning tears safety. >> front rail car was partially submerged. so we had to actually get this there, and get wet. >> the water is dark, cold, merky. so very scary scenario for the passengers on board. >> say 214 people were on board at the time of the accident. authority say it is a miracle no one was killed. >> we have no fatalities. i want to point that out. we do have 14 people that had been injured. ten that are minor. four that are more serious. >> uninjured passengers were taken to their destinations by bus. there will be no service on this train line today, as investigators try to determine exactly what the cause of this crash was. erika, back into you. >> jan, thanks for the update.

by 36%. so, really, been amazing p years for investors. >> absolutely, if there is one thing we can take away from this time, what's the lesson we should learn from the bear market? >> i guess, if you are going to take the ride, do you have prepare for both the up and the down. so if you plan to own stock, to fun your future obligations cents you have got to except that bear market are part of the process. now, the good news is not all bear markets are as awful as the last one, that was the most severe since the 1930's. and the lesson is that while bear markets are very tough on the nerves, they're really good for long-term investors, because, during those scary times, you can take solace in the fact that you're buying shares, which will eventually be seen as being on sale. you know, warren buffet once said, perspective purchasers of stock should much prefer thinking prices. cuddle up to that bare market. bare market lessons jill on money.

susan g. komen philadelphia survivor love is new program offering support to first year breast cancer survivors. chris, and domenique, join us now to tell us more about this terrific program. thank you both for joining us. now, you had one time but two time breast cancer survivor. can you tell me about your storey? >> yes. i was diagnosed first in 2008. and then again this past year. so survivor from a while, but also a new survivor. and the komen organization has team up with the sugarhouse casino to create this new program for first year survivors. and i think it really is fulfilling a need in the community. >> domenique, i understand you're undergoing treatment right now. >> yes. >> how has this program helped you? i can't imagine, the diagnosis, but you need the support. >> yes. well, i met a lot of new people. and i feel like it is really good to have spoke to someone who has been going through what you are going through, face-to-face, whereas a lot of

people have been calling me on the phone, but it feels good when you're actually in the energy of someone else. >> now, chris, you mentioned sugarhouse casino. i understand last night an event, something with filmment can you tell us about that? >> yes indeed. they brought together a whole group of first year diagnosis survivors to the sugarhouse casino where they filmed a video, to the tune of ain't no stopping us now. >> i like. >> there was a lot of energy, and it was really good to be part of that community. a lot of sisters, and another brother, breast cancer survive offers, and i think that particularly in the first year, it is scary. you don't know what's ahead. and this program is going to help particularly first year survivors, to move on, and not stop. >> domenique, has it offered some comfort? >> yes, it really has. like i said, just being able to talk to other people. last night i met a lot of new people, as women. this he were so helpful.

i mean, they asked a lot of questions. and everybody's story is different. so you know we had a lot of things to compare and stuff like, that but it really helped to focus on who is really knows what it is like to go through this, like, really, really helps. >> and when is that finished video going to be released? >> on the 21st, there, at the sugarhouse. >> fantastic. >> now, looking forward to seeing this video. but also, looking toward to the race for the cue cure this upcoming year. i know you have another story, battling breast cancer. will you be there? >> yes, we will be there as will my wife who is also a two time breast cancer survivor. so we are really behind the cause, getting the word out, early detection really the most important thing. and i think this is where komen has really done wonderful job here in philadelphia. to promote early detection, outreach to the community. >> thinking every you, hoping you can join us. >> very good. thank you both so much for your time, of course, cbs-3
