we have live team three coverage of the taste of spring and we will start with meteorologist kate bilo live for us on the cbs-3 sky deck, hi there, kate. >> hi there nicole and ukee. the winter seems rather short this year bookended as it was by warmest december in many spots on record, and now a very, very warm start, to march, and this warm spell is going to continue right through the end of the week. lets go take a look at storm scan three there is a whole lot of nothing going on outside. beautiful evening. the it is comfortable enough to be out here even with the sun going down without sleeves and coat on march 8th, that is within right the there to me. storm scan three as we zoom out showing those clouds were warm, draped over portions of new york state. that came through earlier today with a few clouds. you can see a lot of rain down to the south but that is not impacting us. we will show thaw coming up, in the lower mississippi river valley. that system will impact us with the chance of showers along weak cool front this week. i will tell you when that comes through. looking at temperatures right the now still 69 degrees in

"eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is at the bellmawr barracks with more object how troopers are coming together during this tough time, cleve. >> reporter: ukee, in 2014 trooper sean cullen followed in his brother's footsteps joining new jersey state police and he was stationed at bellmawr station which was great, not the far from home. he grew up in nearby

cinnaminson where he was a stand out wrestler and volunteered giving back to the community. now that community is reeling from the loss of troop are cullen a as well as state police, now losing their third troop inner less than a year. >> the outpouring of public support, the outpouring of law enforcement support, this is almost beyond belief. >> reporter: state police are mourning loss of the collogue and brother, monday night trooper sean cullen was struck and killed by a passerby while managing scene of the accident on interstate 295. the second year trooper was just 31 years old and leaves behind a fiance and nine month-old son. while it is a personal tragedy for family and friend, cullen's death is especially hard on the state police family. this is third line of duty death in ten months. in december trooper eli mccarson suffered a fatal crash on the call in salem county. last may, trooper anthony raspa died. >> it has been decade since we have had that type of a loss

in one year, buzz at the end of the day and i can see this with troopers and detectives that were there last night, some of them had to work today. so they spent most of the night at the hospital, they had to pulled themselves up by boot straps and go back to work and do what they do to protect the public. >> reporter: working troopers and family of those who died have a support network. andre ace part of the survivors of the triangle organization. she lost her brother trooper burt zimmerman in 2004 and says cullen's family and co-workers have a host of people to mourn with and receive counsel from, hoff been in their shoes. >> recovery period will be a long time. the it will never end but our group is there to help. they are there to help the family as well as troopers. we know they spend a lot of time with each other on and off-duty as well. >> reporter: one of the things survivors of the triangle does is it pairs up people in similar circumstances, spouses, with spouses, parents with parents, siblings with siblings so they can within someone who can empathize with

union official says that new jersey transit, and rail worker unions are closer to reaching an agreement that would head off a strike this weekend. union workers have been without a contract for nearly five years. new jersey transit has outlined a contingency plan using expanded bus services and free park and ride lots but officials said it will only accommodate four in ten, displaced rail riders. project home breaks ground on a new apartment building serving the cities most vulnerable population. it is just an empty lot new but soon 2415 north broad street will be a mixed use development including 88 apartments, retail and office space. the residents is for formal willly homeless and low income adults. it is being paid for by both private and public funding. >> today we're celebrating a milestone, another giant step in ending and preventing home lessness in the city of philadelphia. >> new building is slated to open early next year.

moisture. pattern is not moving much. it is a block situation. this is a focus for heavy rain right along this line, notice how it is moving south to north, same area just getting hit the by heavy rain over and over again. that is estimate of two to 5 inches have rain leading to the threat for flooding. for us we are in the warm wedge and that means temperatures surge go to day. we will get to 75 degrees in philadelphia today. twenty-seven in lancaster. seventy-three in dover. these numbers roughly 25 degrees above the average for this time of the year. the average high about 50. we will were know where close to. that mid 07's to day mid 07's again tomorrow. we're talking record warmth. record for today was 8o we didn't come close to. that we missed it by 5 degrees. that was a tough one to get. tomorrow's record seven 36789 looks like we will break. that we will smash one on thursday as well, and another record. here's a front draped off to the north. a few of these showers could sneak in later on thursday
