rise, very dramatically over the last several hours, we did start in the 40's, this morning, with clear skies, calm winds, allows for promotes cooling, temperatures once the sun came up shooting up 56 degrees we climb to by the 9:00 hour, 62 by 10:00, 66 by 11:00 and right now checking in on our current temperature we are in the 70s, 72 in file i, 72, march beach day down the shore in wildwood, at 75 in the lehigh valley incredibly 70 degrees, 1 degrees shy from the record high temperature in mount pocono, and we will smash that record today, in philadelphia, heading up to 79 degrees previous record, 73, so we'll blow blow past that, almost there right now, 75 as you head home from work today, roll the windows down, get some sun, mostly sunny conditions even nice as we head into the 9:00 hour still very mild temperatures upper 60s, talk more about record breaking heat in the forecast and if we could hit 08 degrees

coming up. >> lauren, thank you. >> it is the first of it kinds in the state of pennsylvania, the chance for people who are addicted to drugs like heroin to walk right into police station and get the help they need. walt hunter joins us live in upper darby how this new plan works, also how this program could be expanded. good afternoon, walt? >> good afternoon, certainly is a life saving program, usually whether we come to you from the upper darby police station telling but people being detained inside, in this case, the doors of the police station, will be open. it is a program called changes possible, anyone with opioid addiction 18 or older can simply walk in and get help. this life saving program announced this morning, by mayor tom mc cozy every upper darby, mike chitwood,. >> this is about saving lives, my philosophy if we can save one life we've accomplished what we set taught do. >> we work with the croden is

a house, working with them since back in november working on program that they will provide us with volunteers, volunteers, our police department reach out to. >> what we want to so get people early. if you wait after they get go into penetentary, after they've been overdosed four, five time, it is not assisi as it is to get them when they are young, and that is hopefully what this program will do. >> and again, if you show up here at the upper darby police station, this door, the other are open to you. you simply tell the police you are here for treatment. volunteers will then get you into the pipeline to be treated at one of three regional in-take centers, the officials say of course this won't be perfect. there is still shortage of detox beds and many other obstacles, but this they say is triage, in a war, where there are many, many casualties, that are heroin related specifically in just this township, just last year, 20 heroin overdose deaths.

we'll have more on this life saving program, later for now live from the upper darby police station, walt hunter, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> step in the right direction, walt, thank you. police officers spring into action, rescuing two residents trapped inside a burning home on the main line. firefighters brought a third person to safety. the heroic rescue happened overnight on rainham road lower merion, officials are searching for a cause, but as justin finch explains they are also saluting the quick response. >> lowerlower merion replace, wt was late nice house fire roping it off with house tape. fire ravage in the home tuesday, quick thinking first responders face down those flames, and fears, to rescue three victims trapped inside. >> police arrived on location, they had fire shown on the second floor, police officers pulled two people out in the front on arrival, fire department went in, and found another victim on the second floor.

>> back-to-back shows bravery, minutes before midnight came calls of the house fire at 18 rainham, fire under control within 20 minute. >> right now smoke damage throughout the house, but we had one bedroom that was destroyed by the fire. >> officials say, as many as eight occupant may have been inside the main line home, at least three are hospitalized, two taken to lankenau hospital, one to presbyterian. >> right now still investigating, still trying to get statements from the occupants that were on location. >> as officials look into the cause of this fire, the house itself will not be immediately and recall, given damage inside, and also, the lack of running utilities. in lower merion township, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> meanwhile huge flames and reports of explosions at this business in delaware county. chopper three over the intense scene as it unfold in the colwyn borough. the two alarm fire broke out last night in a auto body shop on ellis avenue. firefighters believe that fire started outside and then

worked its way into the building. more than 100 firefighters battled that blaze. fortunately, no one was injured. >> authorities hope to identify the driver who lost their life in this high-speed crash in kensington earlier today. that crash, the car, was just demolished after it hit polls, several parked cars, and eventually a house near second and cecil b. moore avenue around 1:30 this morning. the car burst into flames, and it was so badly damaged, firefighters had to actually tow the entire wreckage, to the medical examiners office to remove the victim. >> philadelphia police are investigating at least five homicides in the city all within less than 24 hours, most recent happened east falls around 10:00 last night. police found a man with several gunshot wounds, along the 3100 block of abbottsford avenue. they say victim likely was the intended target. the victim in his 20's or 30's, has not been identified.

>> explosion in seattle sends firefighters to the hospital. responded to the scene for report of natural gas leak. forty minute later a huge blast went off. heavily damaging several businesses, and sending debris across the neighborhood. all nine injured firefighters were treated for cuts and bruises. resident say the explosion shook them right out of their bed. >> i am shocked, this is devastated, so shaken up, i don't know what we're going to do. >> utility crews work to go shut the gas off. so, a survey team can go in and figure out what exactly went wrong. >> well, one of the eagles team changing deals could be a no-deal after all. the miami dolphins are reportedly considering backing out that far trade that was would send eagles byron maxwell to the dolphins can linebacker kiko al lan so. esp reports the dolphins are concerned about the shoulder injury that landed mack well

soon motorcade will take the former first lady's body to lie in repose at the ronald reagan presidential library. private services will be held then the public can pay their respects. reagan's funeral will be held friday. she'll then be laid to rest beside her husband on the grounds of the library in semi valley. >> music fans and rock stars are mourning the death of record producer sir george martin, many called the fifth beatle. martin's signed the beatles to record deal and produced their albumns, everything from those mop top combination, to the psychodelic sergeant pepper albumn and beyond. in a five-decade career, the rock-and-roll hall of famer produced more than 700 records. he also won an oscar for the score of a hard day's night. george martin, was 90 years old. on your health watch, knowledge is power, doctors now say self-knowledge can be life saving. new research from the university of california shows that being aware of when you're hungry and when you're full can help lower your risk

what it feels like, light wind, not too much humidity and temperatures across the area, they are cruising right now 78 an in cherry hill, great day to cyton the beach enjoy this weather, 72 as i mentioned in philadelphia, we're at 74, in mt. holly. moving north and west, temperatures just as warm, 77 right now, in pottstown, 75 degrees your current temperature in allentown and just 1 degrees shy of breaking the record right now in mount pocono. we still have hours of warming to go, the record high 71 degrees, you can see, 2,000, pretty steamy year, ac78 degrees, i don't know if we will make it all the way there, but we certainly will beat that record in philadelphia, over the next several hours, as we top at 79 degrees overnight tonight, likely leave the windows open, dropping down to five a degrees, now, our average high temperature, is 50, so we will

still be above that overnight tonight. mostly clear conditions, and definitely mild. the jet stream will continue to ridge, as we head into the next couple of days, allowing all of the warmth to spill in across the eastern half of the united states so temperatures running at about 25 to 30 degrees, above average, even as we head into tomorrow, and friday, will still be very mild, as women. storm scan3 showing us nothing to see here, just a lot of sunshine dominating across the delaware vale, much of the east coast. next storm system well still well up winds, showers to parts of the mississippi valleyment colds front will drop in, won't be very strong, nor have a loft moisture with it as it moves through into tomorrow night. so for your commute tomorrow still looking very nice, few more clouds by tomorrow afternoon, then we do see the line of showers moving through, overnight tomorrow night and into very early on friday. high pressure quickly settles back in, as we head into the day on friday, and we will bring back the sunshine, also, something to look forward to in the forecast, spring forward, i know, we lose hour of sleep, but sunset time by

sunday evening, 706. so we get the nice extra hour at the ends of the day. and beautiful day today all across the region topping at 73 degrees, down the shore. we will head up into the upper, or excuse me, upper 70s in philadelphia, and then to 80 degrees as we head into thursday, mostly sunny conditions, on friday, on the back side of that cold front, we are still very mild, big dip down from 80, but 68 degrees still nearly 20 degrees above our average. we spring forward into the upcoming weekends with a few more clouds, and chance of showers on sunday. but our coolest high temperature over the next seven days, a 60. >> when the 60s are your cool-down in march, i'll take this one. it sounds good. thanks so much. hey the warm weather here doesn't have you thinking about the beach yet, victoria secret swim special airs tonight, and lilly aldridge told me this is not your average fashion show. >> it is so different, they are two completely different

shows, the fashion show is a fashion show, so you see us walking down the runway. this is very much more kind of inside glimpse at what one of the swimsuits is like, you get to see us in the morning, really fun, different, get to know our personality. >> this year we had nick jonas, demi, so-so cool to be on island with the superstars singing to us, it was kind of incredible. >> what an experience. now, speaking of islands, saint bart's, i've never been, hear it is beautiful, but trick toy get to? >> yes, there is this notorious flight, it is only like five minutes long, but to get through it, you have to like glide through these clips, like these hills, and they turn the engine off as you're gliding down, you grinds onto this tiny runway. so it is pretty actually pretty scary, but when you get there it is well worth it, and they actually film some of the girls on this flight for the
