under demolition in olde city. a wall came crashing down in a school bus was simply in the raining place at the wrong time. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is at fifth and race with what happened, anita. >> reporter: ukee, luckily all of the kid on that school bus were dropped off moments before this accident but what happened here today is raising concerns about safety around construction zones. for five years, bus driver spent spencer reynold has been shuttling kid from the souderton school district president on thursday when school bus 168, that served as a shield from all of this. >> i sawdust a and that was it. >> reporter: officials say 9:00 thursday morning crew where is working to demolish the former whitman's check late factory at corner of fifth and race street when chunks of the falling debris hit the bus while reynold was driving by. >> four or five or six windows are busted in, frames inside, glass all over the seeds, stone across the steering wheel. >> reporter: debris from the

building hit a tree, hit a light post, which then hit the bus which fortunate thely was empty. >> reporter: it hadn't been moment prior. >> kid, gotten off the bus 20 or 30 seconds later everybody heard a big boom, to our back, we turned around, and we saw half of the building, that was gone out of that. >> reporter: david hyman were part of the group of elementary school students and parents who had been dropped off at the national constitution sent's cross the street. >> that building right there is right next to the street, and if they are demolishing it i don't understand why they wouldn't close that street off. >> reporter: once that bus pulled around the corner. >> they have one barricade there, you know, in fact, they were, directing us to the left, just down further, and just off to the sidewalks. >> reporter: concern is there is not more safe guard in place after had that deadly building collapse at that salvation army store in 2013.

we are still dealing with some spotty showers but as we move toward sunset in the next hour, hour and a half this activity will start to wind down. but what to expect this evening? some spotty showers over the next couple of hours, mainly first half of the evening. the isolated thunderstorm is still possible, but, again a lot of this activity is after we lose heating of the day, after sunset it will wind down but watch out for slick spots on the roadways, over the next couple of hours. temperatures right the now we had another mild day climbing in the 60's in philadelphia, we are back at 58 degrees right now, rain cooled air, 56 in allentown, still up at 60 in millville. we will keep it the fairly mild as we head in the day tomorrow to cap off the workweek. windy conditions, though, some really gusty wind heading into tomorrow afternoon and ushering in some cold in the upcoming weekend. first day of spring is on sunday but we are watching a winter storm that could bring us some measurable snow fall. we will talk more about that threat coming up in a couple minutes, jessica.
