i didn't know where to go. >> and fear, and confusion when terrorist strike belgium's capitol. right now an intense search is underway for this man, authorities believe he played a role in the series of explosions, that rocked brussels, at the height of the morning rush hour. good evening i'm jim donovan, ukee washington is off tonight. i'm jessica dean. thirty-six people are dead more than 200 are injured, and among them, nine americans. and tonight the islamic state is taking credit for those attacks. >> a new photo shows men believed to be responsible for the attacks at the brussels airport. authorities are still searching for the man in white on the right, and the two men on the left are believed to have died in the attacks. early this morning two powerful blasts ripped through airport blowing out windows and causing a ceiling to cave-in. witnesses say it resembled a war scene. >> it feels like a wave. >> about an hour, after the

explosions, in the airport, a busy, brussels subway station was rocked by an explosion. a journalist traveling on a metro train behind the one exploded, described what happened. >> we felt a small blast of air, and, we heard some noise in the distance. metro immediately stop. lights turned off, engine turned off and message came over inter come saying there had been a disturbance on the line. >> reporter: three american missionaries are said to have been injured as well as an air force officer and his family. president obama who is in cuba on his historic visit to that country took part in the moment of silence before an exhibition baseball game, he also spoke about the a tack. >> we must, be together regardless of nationality, race, or faith, in fighting against the scourge of terrorism. >> now the president has ordered flags, flown at half

staff, at all federal and military buildings until the saturday, as they mark respect to the victims of those attacks. meanwhile family from lafayette hill montgomery county is in brussels tonight and they are staying in the far from where metro station was bombed and tell us city is on heightened alert. >> it is very calm. there is some people on the streets usually where we are it is very busy, but, it was pretty quite it this morning but some people are back out walking around. a the lieutenant of the stores are closed. there is a a lot of police and military people out. there is military vehicles, but sirens you can hear the sirens. >> you can hear sirens they have been going on and off good family lives in brussels visiting a daughter studding a broad. she attend american university and everyone is safe. we have also reached out to st. joes and penn state about their stud a broad programs in belgium, both schools, excuse me, have seven students enrolled and tell us those students are all safe and out of harms way. well, officials say there

is no specific credible threat to the u.s., home land security is stepping up patrols at major transportation hubs as a precaution. "eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is at philadelphia international the where a strong security presence is evident tonight, greg. >> it is exactly right, guess contact airport officials are telling passengers to expect to see those increased security patrols, in all areas of the philadelphia international airport and both passengers and even people i spoke with tonight said they are staying extra vigilant as well. >> mixed with the passengers coming and going from philadelphia international airport, an increased in police and law enforcement presence. >> it is good to have heightened awareness. i'm kind of real big on we got to be mindful anyway. whether or not we have the incident, you know, in brussels, but, you know, i. >> reporter: and those additional patrols a comfort for passengers on edge, you know, keep a closer eye on

something that seems off oring on just doesn't feel right, definitely trust my gut. >> there was a time when if you you didn't see something, wasn't quite right would you just kind of role with it, you do in the do that anymore. >> reporter: julie harrison just return from paris and says that the terror attacks in brussels gives her pause and more reason to be weary of anything suspicious on her flight. >> it seems to be happening more and more and it is really important that everybody be more vigilant and pay attention to what is going on around them. sadly i think it is part of the new life. >> reporter: back her live as you mentioned, jessica there is no confirmed threats in the airport here but officials are not taken any chances. no word on how long these increased security patrols will last. we're live here at philadelphia international airport i am will's greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". our live team coverage continues with "eyewitness

news" reporter walt hunter live at the 30th street station where there is beefed up security, walt? >> reporter: well, jim, amtrak, officers, with heavy weapons, over their shoulders have a clear sign of the height even security here and, along septa lines, a big part of that security net is the explosion detection dogs, that k-9 units. we went out with ronnie, and his handler this afternoon, to show just how that part of our security operation is working. ronnie is a very nosey dog, but when your mission is sniffing out possible threats as a septa explosive detection k-9, the more noser the better. >> he does all of the work. i'm just here to make sure he has somebody to keep him company. >> reporter: you will see more of ronnie and office are javier class in the days following these belgium attacks, a long with other septa officers and k-9 units. a sight always comforting to

riders. >> they are always have a smile when they see us walking around with the dogs. they say thank you, and they appreciate what we do. >> reporter: while riders told us they are shaken by terrible violence in belgium they remain confident and security here. >> it was quite scary to hear what happened in brussels, but i never gave my safety one thought because i knew that things would be secure here. >> i saw a lot of security and it makes me feel really comfortable. >> reporter: both septa and philadelphia police emphasize there are no credible threats to our region. ronnie and officer class they point out, visible, reassuring, signs that everything possible is being done to protect us. >> anything that we can do to help that is why we're here. give the public peace of mind. >> reporter: ronnie has been on the job for two years and as is the case with most k-9's

he is at the side of officer class 24 hours a day. septa pointing out by the way that its explosive detection unit with the k-9's is one of the largest of any transit authority in the country. live at 30th street station walt hunter, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". walt, thank you. to see him, and they put him and that is when it hit. >> reporter: something that she can relate to because of her son, brian. >> when he was born, he had low blood sugar and he had april knee a wow just stop breathing for short periods of time. his blood sugar was severely, severely low. >> reporter: only a day older than charlie, brian has been a patient at the hospital since he was four weeks old. >> i don't know anybody who knows what that feels like, even my husband doesn't know what that feels like. >> reporter: that is until now. >> my daughter lily was talking to her daughter ava. >> we were introduced through our kid. >> reporter: from there they realized they have more in common then just a heavy heart. >> my oldest daughter, three and a half, and she had a daughter, four who was, oh, similar in age. oh, they kind of look similar, they have the same hairline. they have the same hair color.

>> reporter: in time moms realized similarities of their own. >> she was like oh, hey, we share the same birthday. it is just with time we realized so much more similarities. >> what was that friendship like, what is so special and different about it. >> it is in the just any type of friend because we were going through the same hardships. we both know what it is like. we don't to have sit there and put our happy face to each other. we don't to have put a mask on. >> i mean just the fact that we have the same birthday, it is just a amazing experience. >> reporter: now they are looking forward to the future. >> we have already talk about what we will do when the first days of school. >> everything has a journey. >> yes. >> and it just goes to show what an incredible, support system that the families get at ronald mcdonald house, jim? >> amazing story, thanks very much, stephanie. folks, it takes people, volunteers to put this whole entire operation on and we'd like to thank many of the

we will show you how afternoon is looking, this is pleasant val any broad headville looking great. nothing but blue skies. need to say afternoon now because it still feels like afternoon just a couple weeks ago it was dark at this time but still feels like part of the day. more time in the evening, now that the daylight times have gotten pushed back an hour thanks to the start of the the daylight savings time. lets look at what is going on, storm scan three, not much. we have clear skies. a few cloud will start to creep in. tomorrow a few more cloud in the sky then today. we will trade that for some warmth. tomorrow's more of the partly sunny day to day more mostly sunny day but tomorrow that ten to 15 degrees warmer all thanks to the large scale storm system. you can see producing warm front, snow and rain over great lakes impacting new england this week but stays to the north of us and we will get into that same scenario that brought us extreme warmth a few weeks ago in the 80's. we will get warm sector wind south and west and we have two days to heat things up around here. right now still 58 degrees in philadelphia a. fifty-seven in reading.

forty-eight mount pocono. 55 degrees in trenton. welshing we have something to look for in the sky tomorrow morning. two things. tonight you may see jupiter very bright next to the moon, tomorrow morning we have a eclipse. now this is not quite as impressive as a full lunar eclipse. this is happening at 7:48. moon moves throughouter earth shadow. blocking some sunshine from reaching moon if you are a intrepid sky watcher you may see moon looking shadowed tomorrow morning. but you get telescope out if you want to peak at. that future weather shows a few cloud drift nothing, tomorrow, partly sunny day. it will be mostly sunny. see that dividing line between warm and cold air just off to the north. thursday, lots of sunshine, nice and warm, southeasterly wind keeps us in the 70's but then here comes the showers and a little bit of the change, mainly friday overnight, friday morning you can see 9:00 a.m. and we will clear things out friday afternoon but warmth continues, it is mild for next two days. friday, saturday just cooler and then warming up again just in time for easter sunday. as farrah tonight is concerned

we are down to 46, partly cloudy. heading in to your wednesday, sun, cloud, turning warmer, and then it stays pretty nice, normal high 55, and we don't even have have one day, at or below normal in this seven day forecast, friday morning starts with the shower, saturday cooler but beautiful and really nice easter sunday, 64 degrees, great day to hide eggs outside, do the egg hunt, and all that, you don't need a coat.
