>> thanks, so much lauren. >> major auto makers are looking into new ways their vehicles can be used, and owned, some companies are investing in sharing, instead of owning. correspondent brooks silverbraga explains. >> reporter: nissan's latest car doesn't look much like a car. >> what is it. >> reporter: it doesn't have a real name just yet. >> it is nissan new mobility concept. >> reporter: i took a ride through new york city which doctor rachel wynn from nissan's future lab. >> so it is all electric, what is the range. >> 40 miles on the charts. >> reporter: at top speed of 25 miles per hour it is built for big cities, where parking is scars, and bike size is beautiful. if you live in manhattan that is perfect car. >> reporter: but it is not for sale, only for sharing. nissan is latest auto maker to test short term rentals in urban area, where car ownership is increasingly rare. you can get one in san francisco, for $6 for a half an hour. >> people use to it get to the train station but they also
