left her caught in the crossfire. and, a live look right now, storm scan3, tracking showers, katie has the time line for when it will all clear up, also, the easter forecast, we're hoping it is eggs-lent. >> good morning, i'm erika von tiehl. >> i love that pun. i blurted out here. >> exlent. good morning. happy friday. also looking pretty good right now, in fact, looking actually fairly quiet. i guess everyone is wondering are we going to get the rain here in filly? >> it depend where you are, what you are finding right now, obvious lip no umbrella overhead right now. finding wet weather across portions of the delaware valley. i can tell you though it feels awfully muggy outside, sign obviously a loft moisture starting to build up in our atmosphere, really matter of time before the clouds start to squeeze out more rain, but again, finding them some placesment going outside first to storm scan3, here at the regional zoom. you can see, some showers have

already crossed through basically the north and west suburbs, just outside of philly. and eventually the cold front that's responsible for this, is going to work it way through. not necessarily seeing the back edge of it move through even pittsburgh just yet, matter of time though. so somewhat sluggish front. although, before it gets here, man, it is mild. these are current temperatures, guys, 63 here at philadelphia international airport. down in d.c., norfolk, at 66, apiece, up in new york little cooler, but notice how much chillier it is, in burlington, boston, that's because we're watching the warmfront with this system, lift through. so we're sitting in the warm sector of this storm system right now. and that's why, it is so warm, and again, so muggy. now here's what you'll see throughout the course of the morning specially, scattered showers, possibly a rumble every thunder but rain amount, not amounting to heck of a lot here, easily less than quarter of an inch here. so, it doesn't lead to any flooding concerns but more after nuisance, and lingers possibly down toward the shore, as late as shortly after lunchtime. so, school day forecast,

actually pretty generous, i would say, probably mostly because it is friday. we gave you b plus here. these showers will clear out for you. they are scattered again. so not wash out by any stretch. but skies do clear with time. and we are expecting to hit about 70 degrees, at some point later today, 3:00 p.m. 69 or so on the thermometer, but nice and mild, even despite cold front passage, meisha, eventually though that cold air catches up to us, and i'll tell you how the temperatures take a nose dive coming up. >> but today, nice indeed. 70 degrees, you fight, that's awesome. good morning, tgif. if you are just waking up grabbing first cup of coffee, so glad you're here, 202, headlights northbound direction looking really good basically anywhere we look so far this morning even though now cracked into the 6:00 hour, looking great. doing great. ft. washington, 309, headlight moving in the southbound direction past the pa turnpike again, just few early risers out there. i don't even know if i can call this early risers, when we typically monday through wednesday, i would say, really starting to ease up. right now things looking good.

take a look from jersey, what you are looking at in the westbound direction, sure a loft tail light out, there we can expect that now at the 6:00. overall everyone traveling at posted speeds, we saw construction, 295 southbound between route 168 and route 42 freeway, right lane still blocked to both of in you and around the area. and also, take a look at this, more construction, 42 freeway northbound ramp to 295, that left lane block, just to gave you a heads up on that. also, i've got update on mass transit coming up in about ten minute, erika, back to you. >> the villanova wildcats are headed to the elite eight for the first time since 2009. coach j. wright says nova is playing its best basketball right now. last night sweet 16 against tough miami hurricanes team, nova just could not miss here. the wildcats had a 15-point lead after chris jenkins hit that three. jenkins, senior guard ryan, had 93-pointers between them. both had 21-point on the night. cat popped the kings 92 to 69. how about that? wildcats say it is a team

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joining us now outside east detective, as police search for that shooter. justin, good morning. >> erika, good morning, philadelphia police say it is more than likely that teen girl was not the intended target. she is now list in the stable

condition, with a gunshot wound to her thigh, at temple university hospital, as east detective work to track down her shooter or shooters. 11:30 thursday night, 25th district police were on scene of shots fired, at north seventh and luzerne tending to the 16 year old victim she had been hit in her femme or area, taken to temple. minutes before, investigators say, she was walking her dog, and then talking to her sister, on their hunting park front steps. then came quick collapse of gunfire, the teen soon saw she was hit and ran inside her home where her family called police and began treating her wound. >> we do not have any description of the shooter or shooters. they believe that the shots came from a western direction, from where she was. and the shots were fired in a eastern direction. at this point it, appears that the 16 year old female is an

innocent victim. >> and back out live, that teen now in stable condition at temple university hospital, east detectives, set to go back out to that scene today, and find footage from surveillance cameras in the area for a quick glimpse hopefully of the shooters or their get away vehicle or how they got away, erika. back over to you. >> our heart goes out to her family this morning, thank youment secretary every state john kerry has just arrived in brussels. he'll discuss counter terror tactics with european officials. >> this as leaders there admit warning signs were missed, that could have prevented tuesday's deadly attacks. we know of at least two of the bombing suspects that were on the us watch list. six people have been detained during series of raids in belgium. authorities continue to search for at least one of the bombers who is still on the run. the us state department says about dozen americans were injured in the attack. several are still missing. one survivor poke to cbs. >> i'm thinking i got to make t i got to make t i got to make t i got to see my

trailing from a boundary the reason we're finding showers around our area this morning. and, for the most part, the brunt and the most widespread coverage of showers, still just outside of our viewing area, into central pa. so give it time. eventually it will get here. let's walk you through future weather, again, watching for more scattered variety of showers, but notice, depending on where things set up, some of could you get caught in a brief but locally heavier downpour for a time. so casino of your call whether you want to take the umbrella i feel like if you are just running in from, well, the parking lot to the office, going to be inside most of the day, it isn't necessarily a problem for you. but if you are waiting for treanor something, that is a different story. so just depending what your plans are here today, note, basically, it is the next couple of hours into the early afternoon that we will still be tracking the showers around the delaware valley, then starts to clear out with time. and the further inland up, the sooner you're likely to see little sunshine before it drops over the horizon, then skies clear out. looking ahead to nice weekend. now backing it up, looking at win speeds it, wasn't terribly breezy out on the skydeck despite that modest 10-mile

per hour breeze, still out of the south for most of you, so very warm and very muggy start to the day. that said, because we've got rain moving through, it is going to knock our pollen levels back here, but they spike right back up then looking ahead to the weaken, again so many of us have outdoor plans, have the allergy meds ready to go if you know you suffer from seasonal allergies specially tree pollen. after the showers clear out, skies do the same, 07 degrees the high. still real warm despite the passage of cold front. now tonight, when that cold air finally catches up to us, we drop down to 41 degrees, and yes, under clear sky, temperatures can drop bit more readily but looking at the weaken, not bad. normal highs mid 50's, so few degrees above that even saturday. despite the drop on the thermometer. mid 60s come sunday with sunshine, eventually clouds start to rebuild, but still calling for a dry easter forecast, and then, the next storm system comes along monday, rainy days and mondays. they don't always have to get you down. but, you know? >> specially with easter candy in your basket, still.

"eyewitness news" sports reporter pat gallen joining us from wells fargo center, pat, it will be packed house down there tonight. good morning. >> yes, that's true, should be pack house here at the wells fargo center for the great game tonight. obviously philadelphia very excited about the big villanova win last night. but, they should also get excited about local star who is back and will be playing in this building hine me tonight. >> a major reason the notre dame fighting irish are in the ncaa torn s guard steve, jr. grew up in medford, new jersey, was star at st. joe's prep in philadelphia, where he was named the gator aid national player of the year. >> he's the only player in school history to have his number retired. able to see him. >> twenty-four-point as a freshman, a star, everything been beautiful after that.

>> his parent, john and kathy, still live in medford, and as you can imagine, are proud of what their son is accomplishing. >> we've seen steve really mature over those years, those three years at notre dame. his confidence has increased, not that he was not a confident kid before, but, you know, you can't help again by being challenged way they are academically and athletically. >> terrific. yes, it is a dream come true for him. and we're so proud of him. yes, it will be emotional. >> the family will get a chance to see their son return to philadelphia as notre dame takes on wisconsin in the sweet 16. and he's happy to be home. >> it is great. you know, really excited to be here. get a chance to play in the sweet 16. you know, it is a great feeling. >> what's your favorite part about coming home? >> just seeing friends, family, you know, tough for a lot of people to get out to indianna, and, you know, a lot of acc games, just to have them here. you know, seeing them in the stands, it will be really great. >> plenty of loved ones in the stands, but he knows how you

have that is for some of his college age friends. >> scout ticket basically. >> they're scraping to get tickets, i know, it is pretty expensive. >> now there is isn't the first time that we have profiled. back in 2011, we actually met steve, because of his free throw shooting ability, when he was at st. joe's prep, he set a league record, at least 63 straight free throws, so of course, our resident basketball player, ukee washington, challenged him to a free throw shooting contest, and for ukee, who was great basketball player, many years ago, he has still got it, just not quite as good as steve is. steve hit 17 out of 20, ukee just 12 out of 20. but steve has a message for you. >> i think i won, but, you know, he was a great sport about it, and we had a really fun time. ukee, i want a rematch. bring your a game. >> he's calling out ukee washington for a rematch. i know that ukee has been

popped up in time for the national cherry blossom festival runs through april 17th. there are total of 3,000 trees all in bloom. just gorgeous. katie, i had to double take when i saw this behind you, the old is that a photo or graphic? >> isn't it lovely? >> it is gorgeous yes, certainly actually seen earlier season to the cherry blossom, just because, it has been so warm lately. for the last couple of months. so, with the mild february, plus the mild march, of course, it will lead to early bloom. in washington, d.c., where we just showed you, average bloom actually march 31 to april 2nd. so, we're already seeing that peak take place here. here in philadelphia, the average bloom just little bit later since we're little further north between april 7th and 10th. so anywhere from a week, week and a half to two weeks early on the peak here, regardless, beautiful site. no matter what time of year, right? meanwhile, we want to take you back to the eyewitness weather watcher network. we will check back with the folks. a lot of temperatures reading low to mid 60s, almost, almost like 61, two, three, like the
