good evening, i'm jessica dean. ukee washington has the night off. those stories and more are straight ahead but we gip with a new controversy surrounding the hazing scandal at a mainline high school. some parents are speaking out tonight claiming the accusations from the alleged victims were all made up. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live outside conestoga high school in berwyn with these brand new developments. david? >> reporter: jessica, this is considered a major development to this story. tonight, the district attorney has said in the past that they were called no gay thursday thud he insists they won't happen today. to a night the head football coach and other coaches are without a job. three students are charged and these parents insist the accusor made the entire thing up. conestoga high school parents demanded answers monday night at the first public meeting since three football players were charged with assaulting another student with a broomstick. >> until they actually find out the full details and everything

i really just don't think, you know torque jump to conclusions. >> reporter: but alum kevin stroehmann was shocked to hear about the allegations authorities say it happened back in october in the school locker room. chester county district attorney tom hogan said three, 17-year-olds were champed as juveniles. the alleged victim, 14 years o old. >> this is just bullying. in chester county we won't stand for bullying. >> reporter: that was hogan earlier this month. when he announced the charges. head coach john vo began steps down his assistants were fired. >> this meeting should have been happened before the coaches were fired. i think they were judged too early. >> reporter: we heard from several people who praised the former coaches. many didn't want to show their faces. some are confident the alleged victim is lying. >> i think eventually you'll see everything was false. regarding the incident. i think it's complete fabrication. it's hoax. and when you see it come out i hope you guys are here to

actually report it. >> reporter: parents told "eyewitness news" the district was right by hosting the meeti meeting. they just wish it was done sooner. >> i just like to thank coach vo began and his entire staff just a great group of human beings that did a wonderful job coaching kids. that was david spunt reporting for us tonight. strong winds are likely to blame for knocking over a large tree in radnor. that tree fell on power lines and cut power to about dozen homes. the wires also sparked a small brush fire. peco crews are working to restore the power about 2700 customers are in the dark right now. the bulk of them in delaware county. chaos in washington, d.c. as police on capitol hill shoot a man who reportedly pulled out a gun in a crowd of tourists. take look at this video it capture the chaos. authorities say 68-year-old larry dawson of tennessee pulled out gun at the security checkpoint of the us capitol visitors center. authorities say he then pointed

that gun at officers who shot him. the white house been all of capitol hill went into lock down as the incident unfolded. >> an officer fired and struck the suspect who was subsequently treated by medical personnel. the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment. >> back in october, a washington, d.c. court issued an order requiring dawson to stay away from the capitol. it looks like the court battle between apple and the feds is over. at least for now. the government successfully cracked the iphone belonging to the gunman from the san bernardino mass shooting. no one nose exactly how the feds got into syed farook's phone. last month federal judge ordered apple to provide the fbi with the necessary hacking software but the company refused. apple has released a statement saying this case raised issues about civil liberties and the company says it plans to be a part of that on-going discussi discussion. the prime suspect in the brussels terror tacks has been released by authorities.

it's believed he was mistakenly identified by a witness as one of the men in an airport surveillance photo. belgium police put out renewed call for aid in finding that man. three other who's were believed to be involved in the attacks are all dead. charges are filed in a violent attack that was caught on camera. 26-year-old paul, of national park, new jersey, has been charged with aggravated assault and terrorist threats. "eyewitness news" first showed you the video last week after it went if i recall. west deptford township police launched an investigation into the fight that led to the arre arrest. the victim is a juvenile. kojocaru is out on bail. charges filed against an american airlines pilot accused of of being drunk at the detroit airport saturday morning. they grounded john mcguire before he was scheduled to fly a plane full of passengers to philadelphia. american flight 736 was canceled after mcguire was taken into

custody. officials say mcguire failed a field sobriety test. a warning tonight for dog owners. some on the mainline say their dogs have been disappearing and that's raising concern about possible dog thieves. a couple in a gold honda tried to take his golden retriever from his front yard in bryn ma mawr. home surveillance video caught the whole ordeal. joseph says the couple told him they thought it was their neighbor's dog but he got suspicious after seeing flyers on social media warning others a man and woman in a tan sedan were taking dogs from front yards. >> i hope they grow a conscience much it's a pretty sick and sad thing to do. >> other dog owners say their keeping a tighter leash on their pets after seeing those warning flyers. everybody is talking would the villanova wildcats they're off to the final four after a dramatic weekend win. fans we spoke to today say they're feeling optimistic about

through the afternoon and nice looking sunset few cymous us will clouds overhead. the system that brought us the rain this morning is departing. the winds will gradually die down. but still pretty decent pressure grade yen from the west that low pressure to the north and winds will continue to accelerate tonight and into tomorrow. you can see some snow over portions of new york state and up into northern maine as well. we should stay dry as this system departs but the wind definitely going to be around tonight and tomorrow. temperatures are dropping as well. fours in allentown reading and lancaster right now. 54 in philadelphia. 54 in atlantic city as well. you can see it's chilly off to the north and west. 30s and 40s in some of cooler air will be advancing upon us by tomorrow. winds still gusting to 40 miles an hour at the airport. 40 miles an hour in wilmington right now. still gusts to 45 miles per hour in mount pocono. and we've had some peak wind gusts today over 50 miles an hour and our wind advisory continues right through midnig midnight. still the chance for winds to gust around 50 miles an hour and even overnight even once the

advisory expires winds still gusting to 40 plus miles per hour. peak wind gust newtown square 53 miles per hour. pocono airport at 52 and in philadelphia our peak win gust 45 miles per hour today. reports of trees down, power lines down, even a billboard blown over in the levittown ar area. future weather shows tuesday looking good. lots of sun. eighths windy day. winds die down on wednesday much wednesday is your nicest day of the week and then we have showers moving in late in the day thursday. thursday warms up. briefly you can see that bulls much in the jet stream. cold air will return bite weekend. overnight clear sky, gusty winds, down to 40 degrees. tomorrow another blustery day. high 55. it will feel more like 45 with the winds gusting over 30 miles an hour all day. now wednesday your best day of the week less wind, sunny, seasonal, 60 degrees. thursday starts off nice but them we finish out march like a lion. thunderstorm late thursday, april starts with rain and then it gets chilly sunday's high only in the 40s.
