report, just great news on this wednesday morning but a lot of construction. it is the season, katie. >> it is, when we have quiet spring weather who could blame construction guys. give them extra room if you see cones out there but with that said nice quiet weather unfold to go day, whether you are construction worker or just trying to get to the schuylkill to make it to the office here. we will start off with the quick check of the live neighborhood network and i love this shot. such a beautiful reflection off of the the water here and with the center city sky line so visible in the distance, visibility is not a problem whatsoever. it is so clear outside. we will look at that wide zoom on storm scan once more and the wet weather over dakotas and minnesota a that will eventually bring us our next round of wet weather but it is totally dry here at local level folks. storm scan three working overtime and not picking up on anything right now. with high pressure just anchored overhead you will that have nice clear sky and that also means that if you built any warmth up from the day before it is having a

"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live as investigators try to track down the person who pulled the

trigger, justin. >> reporter: jim, erika we know that teen was shot once in the back and his condition is extremely critical, at presbyterian. meantime police were combing two scenes, one over at sixth where shots were fired, other near 60th and vine where that teen was found. through the investigation detectives have the list of questions, in need of answers. >> we do not have a motive for the shooting, we don't have a description of a shooter, or shooters. we're not even certain at this time if the four year-old victim was the intended target or if he was hit with a stray bullet. >> reporter: about 9:25, tuesday night, came reports of the shots fired in west philadelphia. nineteenth district police were dispatched. >> upon police arrival they found a 14 year-old victim laying on the highway, suffering from a single gunshot wound to his back. police transported him to presbyterian hospital.

>> reporter: teen's condition described as extremely critical, that single shot to his back, one of the many fire. >> facial, ballistics evidence we know at least eight shots were fired from the semiautomatic weapon. we found eight spent shell casings on the highway in the 200 block of north simpson street. >> and later today police will return to the area of 60th and vine to review surveillance video in hopes of the catching a glimpse of the crime as it happened. perhaps, a suspect or suspects. erika and jim back over to you. justin finch, thank you. a man is in critical condition after shooting in west philadelphia a cobbs creek neighborhood. police tell us man was shot three times and then dropped off at mercy hospital by a car. they believe shooting happened around 10:30 last night inside a home on the eight hup block of cecil street, no details on a shooter. meanwhile, teens gathered to remember their friend killed by a hit and run driver in pennsauken, new jersey. sixteen year-old quason turner was on his way home monday

welcome back. you are about to see bravery on display a customer fighting off a knife wielding robber at a new york gas station. daring robbery a tempt is caught on camera, 20 year-old rob phelps stopped at a gas station sunday night for a late night snack. while chatting with the store manager a man with the large knife grabs him from behind to demand money from the clerk. he made a split second decision to fight back. >> i wrestled and threw him against the shelves and kept his arm just to make sure that none of that knife was coming near me. >> now phelps says he doesn't know what came over him, he and store manager were able to push the one robber out of the store and call police. check this out a scary moment caught on police dash camas an officer is almost hit the by a car. this happened in colorado

moving to philadelphia very inspirational. >> good day to check out murals. >> i would say so, absolutely, bright sunshine, you will want to have sunglasses ready for sure. would i say dress in layers because this morning is a very chilly start the two day, hour we are going to warm up nicely throughout the afternoon at least a few degrees higher then yesterday. lets start off by taking you outside and showing you what is happening on the storm scan and regional zoom here to the the north east, mid-atlantic region not much to see. we have high pressure on your side so that has allowed the air to fall and the clouds get scoured out, nice clear sky but also, in turn temperatures can drop readily. taking a look at the nice wide zoom eastern two thirds of the united states is generally quiet, although next storm system gathering some strength and moisture here across northern high planes and cold front with this will bring us our wet weather down the road here. now when we talk future rain amounts it does appear we will see late day showers but nothing that amounts to very

much. we are jumping you to thursday at the 8:00 p.m. maybe a couple hundreds of an inch here at this point but as we look ahead to friday we will start to see that wet weather pushing through in the form of steadier rain, and rumble of thunder with this killed front crossing. indications are we will get soak out of this with up to an inch of accumulating rain over the course of the whole day. you do need the rain, at some point, wet weather will likely start off the month with a couple disturbances, temperatures will be tumbling to the first week of april, we will see that in the seven day but of course those days of showers will help those may flowers, yeah, get it. there. we love it. looking forward to the eyewitness weather seven day. lets get to the good stuff. how does weekend look. warmest day thursday and friday. especially friday. we will see those temperatures take a bit on of the nose dive no better than 40's on sunday. that is a chill day feeling
