condition is extremely critical. meantime investigators are on two scenes in west philadelphia, one on simpson where shots were fired. a second on 60th and vine where that teen was found. also too they are trying to figure out if this teen was the target or if he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. >> based on ballistics evidence we know at least eight shots were fired from semiautomatic weapons. we found eight spent shell casings on the highway in the 200 block of north simpson street. >> reporter: teen's condition described as extremely critical. that single shot to his back, one of the many fired. 9:25 tuesday night, came report of the shots fired in west philadelphia, 19th district police were dispatched. >> upon police arrival they found a 14 year-old victim laying on the highway suffering from a single will gunshot wound to his back. police transported him to presbyterian hospital. >> reporter: early into the investigation detectives have a list of questions, in need

of answers. >> we do not have a motive for the shooting, we don't have a description of a shooter, or shooters. we're not even certain at this time if the 14 year-old victim was the intended target or if he was hit with a stray bullet. >> reporter: as you heard many pieces to this puzzle this morning the teen shot in the back just once is 14 years old, still fighting for his life at presbyterian. the his condition extremely critical, next step for police will be to return to that scene and seek out surveillance video that might give them a glimpse of the suspect or suspects in this case. jim and erika, back over to you. >> thanks, justin. police are also searching for gunman who sent a man to the hospital, in critical condition. police tell us that man was shot three times and then dropped off at mercy hospital by a car. it happened around 10:30 last night inside a home in the 800 block of cecil street in cobbs

northern high planes getting its act together. main core of the storm will bypass us to the north but we will see a cold front drape through our area and bringing witt next round of wet weather. with that said high pressure keeping nice control of the forecast here today, beautiful spring day, and then, we will sit basically in the warm sector of the storm tomorrow, late in the day especially at night, a couple of showers dotting the area radar. but we will hit 70's for thursday and friday and then cold front crosses through. we will see period of rain pick up. that could happen anytime, throughout the day friday. so saturday, cooling it back down in the wake of the system. despite fact that we see sun return for both saturday and sunday it is chilly. on sunday especially probably not going to break out of the 40's. >> it looks that way. it is chilly. so we will take sunshine today and most certainly, back to the sunglasses. we are dealing with summer slow downs. we are looking at the schuylkill headlights moving in the eastbound direction where we will get most of the

>> it is a great way to explore. >> the fan favorite you might call them yesemite and grand canyon get most visitors every year. what is it about those two parks that people flock to them. >> they are as you said majestic. you see a mile deep can john over 9 million people visit grand canyon every year. is there something there for everybody when want a guided tour, drive yourself, take a mule ride down to the bottom of the canyon, hike, water raft, there is so much for everybody. >> there is great looks right there in our own backyard too. >> we take it for granted, national historical parks this year, ellis island up in new jersey and new york. there is so much right here in our own backyard. >> what is your favorite? if you had a chance to go, third grader planning a trip too what do you think stand out. >> we might look to california. i think that would be great to be able to take the kid out there. >> very nice. >> when you are planning these trips and looking ahead you mentioned discounts, restaurants and all. that how should you set up an

itinerary. >> you want to first and foremost look at your hotel stay. some national parks have limited hotel a veil built on site so you want to book that first and take advantage of the any discounts that might apply there at the hotel. you definitely want to have your car road trip ready. so many of these national parks have over 400 throughout the country are within driving distance and lower gas prices are making that more affordable option for families good absolutely. if you are at home thinking i will camper i don't do that there is so much more to parks than camping and hiking. >> if you want to water raft, mule rides, and then, so much learning, so much historical knowledge that is there. again, so much right here in our own backyard that we take for granted. >> this is year to do it. >> absolutely. >> thanks, erika. >> we will be right back.

well, if you have not seen new citizen of the universe check out a baby bald eagle born yesterday morning. we were watching the two eggs in a nest in hanover, york county for a while will now this within has hatched, mom and dad have taken turns caring for new baby and searching for food. they are a pair of dedicated parents. >> we will see one fly away and then what are they doing, and then moment later they fly right in. >> yes. >> want to give you live picture from the pennsylvania gaming commission there you go talk in for the morning. we are waiting for the appearance of the new little
