delaware county apartment. as police searched for clues killer remains on the loose. good evening, i'm jessica dean. >> i'm nicole brewer. ukee washington is off tonight. trang do has been tracking developments all day and joins us live from upper darby, trang. >> reporter: nicole, benson's neighbor last saw her 8:00 p.m. tuesday but detectives believe benson was killed sometime wednesday morning, because she had stopped texting her mother around 7:45 but no one was prepared for what police found inside of her apartment. by neighbor's account markia benson was vibrant and friendly. >> she always said hello, very nice lady. and i felt so bad, and i can't believe that it happened right next door to me. >> reporter: details so shocking police superintendent michael chitwoody kline to share the message scrolled on the wall inside her apartment. >> it was full of hatred, hatred and venom. >> reporter: he describe the scene covered this blood and feces. benson's nude bod which stab wound left in the tub with the

shower the water running, front door lock. >> whoever killed her, based on what we have seen at the scene it was done with a hatred, with a vengeance, and with just predatory sadistic violence. >> reporter: this afternoon detectives began processing benson's car which had been missing. the her employer s id block in chester releasing this statement quote we are grieving the looks of a friend and collogue and we are working with the authorities to see what happened, and also trying to support her family in this time. i did speak to benson's niece by phone and says family is grieving and trying to process what happened. they would have in further comment. for now we are live from upper darby police headquarters i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thanks very much. child porn charges are filed against a villanova a university professor, this is the suspect doctor christopher has his, an associate professor of history and classicalists is. he is facing hundreds of charges.

radnor police began this investigation just this week after he was spotted on a compute inner a hallway, allegedly viewing child porn. >> it is just sad, disappoint ago this somebody in the educational environment would behave this way. >> villanova university says that the the professor has been released of his duties in, 2012, federal agents from home land security questioned, and a searched the home of the professor. but it was never charged. today edward archer was formally arraigned on attempted murder and other charges stemming from the january shooting of a philadelphia police officer. jesse hartnett was victim of an ambush attack in west philadelphia. he was shot three times in the arm, he has had seven surgeries since then. archer reportedly told police he committed the crime, in the name of islam. talking weather right now a warm day a cross the area but we are tracking some rain and some drops, in the temperature. meteorologist kate bilo live in lansdale and kate, how is it looking out there.

that is a good question. nicole brewer would agree. for leslie van arsdal who will join us here from houston, leslie? >> reporter: well, you know, don, it is funny jay wright had been to the final four back in 2009 but he says, this is a whole different experience. everything is just so much bigger. as you mentioned the players on this team they have never seen anything like this before. >> we start to explain to them last night this is beginning. coming to our hotel, and players, pictures are all over the walls, and bigger then life size, and the military reception, flags, and solutes, and it the is just larger than life. so, we just keep talking to them about it. we have to take it in but we have to remain hungry and remain humble. >> reporter: when you walk in the villanova locker room you get a feel for how big this moment is. one of the last four teams, left standing. >> and yes, look around a, when you pose next to yourself out there on the wall, how cool is that. >> it is very cool.

>> there you go. >> the walnut lane bridge will be closed starting tomorrow, for repair work. chopper three was under the bridge with spans the wissohickon creek here in philadelphia the bridge will be closed for five months so that the existing concrete deck, and sidewalk, can be replaced. the bridge is expect to reopen, in early september. well, it is time of the year when more than just bridges need repair. with the warmer weather we tend to see a problem popping up all over the road. >> "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh shows us how crews take care of those potholes and the problems that they can cause. >> reporter: as spring blooms, inevitably, potholes, pop up too. >> they are getting out of control. they are every where. >> they wreak havoc on your car. >> reporter: mechanic tom nora sees damage close-up. >> that is a pothole breaking off the exist. >> reporter: as much as potholes can cause you a bumpy ride they can take a hit on your car and your wallet.

local non-profits huddle up for third annual eagles care summit. >> and place to get your head in the game and eagles locker room at the link. the summit allowed members of the non-profit community to connect and share ideas, and organizers say it is all in an effort to help these groups increase their work in the community. >> i want people to be able to walk away with one of those new skills and new friend,

there in the mobile weather lab. >> kate bilo is live at walter's farm elementary and you have a big event there and a lot of help. >> yes, lot of help here tonight. you cannot show up to science night without your own science project and i brought cbs-3 mobile weather lab to show off gadgets it has on it. some of these experiments these kids have done have just blown me away and wondering aisles, we have everything from music to help you play basketball bet are, how far does your hair ties spread, how to keep nail polish from chipping. we have in depth projects like this one from zach. tell us about that. >> my project is bacteria and your contact lenses. i tested different solutions, and how much they disinfect contacts. i found out that the best solution was the clear comfort solution and it is really inspired me to do this project because in the future i would like to be a micro biologist. >> fantastic. this is not just for fun this is your future career here. >> yes. >> for anyone listening up and

more where that came from. look at those nasty storms over portions of the midwest, those are all headed our way for tomorrow. in the meantime take a look what is going on as we move in the overnight hours, future weather shows clouds are back in at 10:00 o'clock, overnight a few scattered showers at 5:00 a.m. wet for your morning commute. this will continue on and off throughout the day. by mid afternoon some of these storms right here at 3:00 p.m. could get nasty. they look like just three cells and they could produce strong gusty wind. that then clears out heading in to saturday. we expect a chance for a few scattered showers as cooler air moves in the atmosphere and saturday night we have a chance for a few snow showers, along an arctic cold front. lets time out your friday first of all, we will start overnight the scattered showers developing, for your friday morning, period of rain, rumble of thunder is possible but it is mid afternoon friday that i think a strong thunderstorm could come through. then we will open up flood gates to arctic air. take a look we have a big puddle of cold air centered over eastern can inadequacies,

really locked away us from right now and until this front comes through it is saturday night into sunday arctic front passes, cold air moves in, once it is here it is here to stay for a few days. overnight nothing cold about it, 60 degrees will be your overnight the low out and about tonight you don't need a jacket. your weekend forecast take a look at i a difference here. sixty-two. sunday 45. feeling like mid to late february on sunday. notice difference from what we have been feeling again today from the 70's. normal high is 59 for sunday's date. overnight 60 degrees, that is your low as we head in the day tomorrow we're back in the 70's but we have rain and thunder and quick look at you're witness weather seven day forecast, not looking great as cold air moves back in, 40's on sunday. cold monday and tuesday with overnight lows, possibly, near the freezing mark and then it does warm up, next week. we are back here live with the students from walton farm elementary, huge night, especially for sixth graders but we have a lot of stuff going on, science demonstrations, i was giving my own little selfie booths
