46,000 customers without power, montgomery and chester counties are reporting bulk of them. new jersey, pse&g tells us that more than 6,000 residents are without power and ac electric has more than 5,000 customers, without power, atlantic and cumberland counties are most affected. if your power is out, you want to contact the electric company immediately to assure they are aware. do not just assume about that. here's meteorologist justin drabick eyewitness weather. what are we looking at, moving forward. >> storms are done. we had gusts near 07 miles an hour with those storms. that is why we dealt with that wind damage. still windy behind this cyst them that will continue. it is potential for down trees, limbs, and additional power outages throughout the morning and into the afternoon today but story right now is also the colder air. it is opening day of baseball for some teams and certainly not feeling like baseball weather especially out in pittsburgh where they are home today but that temperature right now 37 degrees at the

airport. northwesterly wind at 28 miles an hour, feels like mid 20's. we are talking about wind chills in the teens and 20's for early april. it happens, it feels weird to talk witt though. look at these wind gusts up to 53 miles an hour in wilmington, 44 in philadelphia, lower 40's in mount pocono. that is why the high wind warning stays in effect until noon time for the entire region. so what to expect? sustain wind 20 to 30 miles an hour, potential gusts near 60 through the morning with down branches and wires are possible leading to power outages. this is temperature, freezing in allentown, below freezing in reading, 37 at the airport in philadelphia, and it feels like 15 degrees in, reading, and six on exposed skin in mount pocono. this just looks like middle of winter when you look at that temperature map and radar. we have a few flurries, we have that in berks county and then moving into bucks and montgomery county, in the the a big deal passing flurries. other than that we will see sunshine but that will not help things much.

highs in the upper 40's. we should be a around 60 for this time of the year. we have 60's coming up in the forecast and we will let you no he when that arrives and more rain in a few minutes, back to you. >> that would be nice. >> thanks, justin. well, strong storms of course moving through the region quickly overnight leaves behind a path of destruction. take a look a tree tum also on a home in west philadelphia, it happened near 54th ain't arch streets the and authorities tell us one person inside the home at the time but thankfully they were not injured. also, a partial building collapse, trapped a man inside of his car. a police officer found the car buried under bricks and a building came down in the 5,000 block of warrington street, bringing power lines down with it. the officer was in the vicinity of the responding to another accident at the time, his cruiser was also damaged by fallen bricks. man in his 60's was rushed to the hospital no details on his condition. investigators tell us that the collapsed building already appeared to be in bad shape.

many were woken up early by thunderstorm roaring through the region last night. fierce wind caused this tree to top until bensalem, crews are out there right now, trying to clear roadways so if you are head you go on the the door be careful, take your time because you may encounter some detours. and a lightening strike hit the courtyard by marred yacht in bensalem. it happened after midnight in the the 3200 block of tillman driver. look at the that damage to the hotel sign. the fortunately the lightening did not cause a fire. fire officials tell us the fourth floor did fill up with smoke and knocked out power to the entire floor. the hotel guests did have to wait inside the lobby until officials could give the all clear. also a cancellation to pass along to you because of the high wind today, the give your rear in gear run scheduled to take part in fairmount park has been canceled. it is the largest colon cancer run in about 4,000 people that were expected to take part. organizers say that high wind

are a safety concern and that has forced them to shut it down, no word if it will be rescheduled for another day. on to other news now in our region they are bridge with excitement for villanova. the mens basketball team is heading to the national championship game against north carolina tomorrow night. last night, the wildcats beat oklahoma by a record 44 points, largest margin of victory ever in a final four game and team is now focused on the big prize a championship title. >> well, celebration began before the final buzzer ever sounded and continues for hours into the night. on the villanova university campus hundreds of students, as you can see there spilling in the streets screaming, people honking their horns, everybody is beaming with

airport is set to reopen with limited passenger service. reenforced security measures are in place. airport, of course has been closed since the march 22nd suicide bombing that killed 16 victims at the airport and another 16 in the brussels subway. airport officials say it should be back at around 20 percent of capacity tomorrow, full services at the airport won't resume until the end of june or the beginning of july. on to the lateness campaign 2016, the candidates forum in wisconsin getting ready for tuesday's primary. the state could help decide if donald trump can out right win the republican nomination avoiding a fight at parties convention. correspondent wendy gilette takes us on the campaign trail. >> the next president of the united states, donald j trump. >> reporter: sarah palin introduced donald trump at a rally in wisconsin. he is back the on the campaign trail after one of the most difficult weeks, including coming under fire for saying he would punish woman who

>> it is not fun not a good time if you are stepping outside. that wind is kicking up, gusts over 50 miles an hour. tough driving as well, we're going to see a a few snow flurries. it is april 3rd here but you know what it is not uncommon that we don't have snow in april. it did snow in may, we had a trace in fill amount it can happen. so cold flow coming out of the northwest, pittsburgh, kicking off their baseball season today, that is rough. a at least we have an afternoon game but even still the fan, just to sit outside in the stadium, battling some nasty wind in western pennsylvania as well. look at these storm reports from last night, storm that rolled through around 11:30, newark delaware a tree fell on the ice. lightening strike in od theessa fire, penny sized hail in upper darby and, other locations across the delaware valley, trees down, large trees down in west chester. that is just some reports that have happened from those storms. strong winds blowing off shore, so almost looks like a lake out there as atlantic ocean, live look at margate right now, sand is whipping around, and it looks nice with

the sunshine but just down right cold. check out these peak wind gusts so far this morning. we had a gust of 53 miles an hour in wilmington 52 in philadelphia a these are just reporting stations, the official airport stations, so there could be higher gusts over 60 in some of the backyards from weather watchers as well. not much happening as far as the sunshine. here comes our next storm tomorrow bringing more showers during the afternoon, initially we will get warmer air but doesn't last though once this storm passes. we will just repeat pattern, pretty much, three times this week. rainfall amounts nothing too heavy tomorrow afternoon. maybe a quarter inch of rainfall coming from the system. but jet stream is all over the place over the next several days, cold pocket of air over us right now leaves us tomorrow. so still cool but not as cold and then we will see new cold pocket of air coming in on tuesday, that knocks temperatures down again, a brief warm up on thursday, before another colder shot the of air comes in for the even of the week.

we may be dealing with 40's again by friday, into the upcoming weekend and i think finally, next week at some point, we will get more consistent warm up, temperatures back well above average. forty-seven for the high today, windy, but not as windy this afternoon as it is right now. 38 degrees tonight, partly cloudy, still breezy, cold but temperatures rapidly warm up during the morning hours, on monday and then we will reach a high of 60 degrees. the best chance for those showers later in the afternoon and evening commute could be impacted. cool down number two, comes in tuesday, 46 for the high with some sunshine, 50's an wednesday, still well below arrange with sun and then we will have another storm coming in on thursday and bringing more showers. highs of 60 degrees. by friday in the weekend we will cool the down again, maybe shower or two friday. i think 48, might be too generous for the high on saturday. it is just cold. >> and it still feels like february next week. >> we cannot say you didn't warn us. >> all right, justin, thank

good morning to you. i'm rahel solomon. thanks so much for being with us. let's send it out to justin on the cbs-3 sky deck and justin, lot of people this morning waking up, without power after last night's storm. what can we expect moving forward. >> the problem is wind do continue in the morning hours. wind gusts 50 to 60. we can see additional power outages. they did come from the storms last night. some areas saw wind gusts up to 07. not quite this morning. garbage cans rolling around here across the city you can hear wind how long through the trees. here are wind gusts over 40 miles an hour, even over 50 in northern delaware, wilmington new castle county airport comes in with 53-mile an hour gusts. high win warning continues until noon time today for entire region, then later this

afternoon wind does back off a little bit. what to expect is worst is right now, sustained wind of 20 to miles an hour. down branches and wires will be common this morning. we are seeing that all over the road. temperatures much colder, 37 degrees at this hour in philadelphia, millville and dover, delaware. around freezing up toward lehigh valley and berks county. really that story is wind chill values with these strong wind it feels like teens and 20's than exposed skin. the that is impressive for early april. at least we have the sun. few areas could see snow showers and flurries over next hour or two. otherwise a mix of sun and clouds. temperatures struggle to get back in the mid to upper 40's. the that is a good ten to 15 degrees above average. we will see some 60-degree temperatures returning this week but don't get used to it. several cool downs remain in the forecast. it is an active pattern. we will talk about it with eyewitness weather in a few more minutes, rahel, back to you. >> all right.
