and hopefully it will warm up for the parade t has been rather chilly out there. >> yes, chilly indeed. katie is tracking a storm live on cbs-3 skydeck with first look at the forecast, hey, katy? >> and good afternoon to you both. you know, at least we have sunshine out here on the skydeck it, does at least soften the blow, it was so cold, feeling much like february than anything. today start today ease up a lot more than yesterday, would allow, now that we are we are starting to ease up to the mid 50's, a will the closer to typical for early april standards, but we are still below average. that said, we have a lot of weather to talk about down the road here. let me start things off with a nice quiet view of storm scan3, doesn't that look nice? any time that's empty, always good thing for the delaware vale. nice and tranquil, bright blue sky, beautiful day, just chilly, and those looks can be deceiving as you look out the window, you are thinking okay, it is a great spring day. when you look at the temperatures, you know, little below average right now. forty-seven currently at the airport, we are expecting to rebounds, probably another 8 degrees or so, shooting for 55 in the city anyway,

50 degrees down the shore, not terribly breezy but enough that any time the winds blows, even though it is more turning out of the south at this point, you will notice it. so, the chill is going to be with you, regardless here today. but not as harsh as yesterday was. so there you have t thermometer starts to ease up for us, but as brooke and jim mentioned, there is a new storm that's on the way. so coming up, i will have more detail on that, what kind of impact it bridges to the area, then behind it, another chilly weekends is in store. so just how chilly does it get again? i'll have the answer for you, coming up, guys, we send it back into you. >> nearly three years ago, six people were killed, and 14 hurt when a building under demolition actually came crashing down on the salvation army store on 22nd and market. "eyewitness news" reporter, justin finch, joins us live, from the scene, where officials are taking the first step toward a lasting memorial honoring those victims. justin? >> reporter: brooke, jim, good afternoon, a honor indeed. mayor kenney and organizers

here today were very firm that negligence with a a key to contributing factor in the june 5th 2015 collapse. they say this memorial once it is finished will stand in honor of those six killed, and more than dozen injured, and will also serve as a reminder that such an event can never happen in this city again. now, in the crowd this morning, a mix of supporters as well, as loved ones of those six killed, and also, 14 or so injured. on that june day, this site here at 22nd and market, was a salvation army store with customers and staff working inside. meantime, demolition outside causing the collapse, the salvation army has since donated the land here at this site, worth some $700,000, to that memorial. additional funds also raised to help kick start that construction set to begin soon with the goal of turning this area into a site of tragedy, into a place of honor and also of healing. now, back out live here, since

transition over to weather, we've seen a loft ups and downs lately, poor brooke is stuck in winter for her first week. >> what's going on? >> i know, but i promise you little light at the end of the tunnel, will warm up somewhat in the next day and a half. but the trade off, there is rain on the way. so, don't worry. we will eventually get you some nice warms, for now still chilly outside, we do have storm that we are tracking, so we want to walk through everything here, give you sense also how the villanova parade will shape up. i know a lot of folks will be out there on market street. so go ahead, start things offer by getting you out to storm scan3, nice place to start obviously you track active weather. at the moment not terribly active, here at home zoom it out little bit, though, and this very large storm system now brinking in some snow across the canadian borden, obvious leading edge front, and that cold front will be the piece that pushes through, remember, our next round every wet weather by tomorrow. for now, beautiful view. man are looks deceiving when it comes to the neighborhood network lately. beautiful blue sky, lush green grass, but it is 42 degrees, with breeze, and even though

it is out of the south-southwest not feeling very warm outside. so you can't bank on that really helping to warm you up, obviously, in addition to the fact it is such a dry air mass, low relative humidity, combined with the breeze we just showed you, for example, cut town, you could ends up with wild fire. so, obviously the weather doesn't cause fires, but you want to be real careful disposing of of cigarette but the, never toss it out the window, find the right recepticle. be smart about that. any wild fire that does start could spread very easily, very quickly. let me walk you through future weather, all the way to tomorrow morning, you know, we are waking up with you on "eyewitness news" this morning, it does look to me like we will start to see some lines of life on the radar before the morning show is done, generally toward the tail end of the typical morning russian toward midday, is when we will see the front actually cross through, bringing rounds of probably some steady rain, and couple of thunderstorms, at this point, we don't expect any severe weather, but there will still be residual showers even behind the actual front. and then we start to clear things out overnight tomorrow. so, i call it essentially all

day event, generally here are your bullet points. gusts right around 30 miles per hour, temperatures though in the 60s, that's the trade off, little warmer tomorrow, but there will be some scattered showers, and/or thunderstorm to dodge out, there specially, again, for midday. meanwhile, the villanova parade, we have got you covered there, as well, i would dress in the navy and white sweatshirts, as opposed to t-shirts, talking low 50's at best here, for friday, with some sunshine, and we also have more of westerly breeze out there, as well, so at least the winds will be at the back of our champions, as they're moving toward dilworth. meanwhile weeks take you forward in the eyewitness weather seven day forecast, temperatures going on uphill climb by thursday, 62 degrees, again the trade off is the wet weather. by friday, back into some sun, and the chill starts to settle in again. leading to the chilliest day of the forecast of course coming just in time for your weekends, isn't that always the way. generally looks dry. i would say other than quick shower maybe, sprinkle of rain or snow on saturday, guys, yes, chilly but we should stay dry. we'll see more sunshine specially on sunday. >> as long as we can see more
