"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao live in center city to bring us up to date why they are on the picket line. >> reporter: brook and jim, good morning. that is right thousands of union members have now walk off the job, you can see dozens of them behind me here in center city philadelphia this morning at odds with verizon are two unions, international brotherhood of electrical workers and communication workers of america. union officials say they have been negotiating in good faith for months and now they are taking to the picket line in order to obtain a fair contract. as of 6:00 o'clock this morning union workers here at the verizon on ninth and race

scared them away. look at this video from the home in up are pittsgrove. burglars were greeted at the door yesterday morning by home owner's dogs who didn't seem to be too bothered, but then burglars were shock by the voice of the home owner. he was alerted and then when he saw them on the surveillance video he talk to them and told them to get out of his house. burglars did get the away with jewelry and police are looking for them. meanwhile some other successful video, and unsuccessful burglary surveillance video. this is from hatfield, montgomery county where you can see a man breaking in the scrap metal recycling business by crawling through a hole in the block wall. once inside the burglars reportedly tried to get the at some metal inside a machine by using an electric welding tool which did not work. if you know anything about either of these breakness please call the police. a with man is standing up for her son after she got a nasty anonymous letter about it. >> letter refers to her three-year old autistic son as
