explaining situation to parents and family and to us. >> she's a little girl. she doesn't know anything. she does not know anything all because of one school. see will go to another school. >> reporter: she is aunt of the 14 year-old girl accused of stabbing another young female student with scissors while fighting in the third floor hallway of the jay cook elementary school at will 45:00 a.m. >> the school was placed on lock down after the incident. philadelphia police were called. they detained the student that stabbed the other student. >> a lot of parents is running upright now. >> i'm here, they are fine, i seen her face, she's cool and now turf go back to work. >> reporter: guardians who heard of the incident rushed to the school. some upset that they were not contacted directly. >> we found out by the news. teacher didn't call, nobody called. the it is crazy. >> reporter: victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, to her chest and arms, charges are expected for accused attacker. >> things got too the heated

"eyewitness news", new jersey reporter, cleve bryan, joins us live from upper pittsgrove salem county to tell you more, cleve? >> reporter: ukee, unfortunately even here in rural salem county, new jersey, country living isn't always care free and sometimes, when the old fashion safety measures like dogs and locks fail, a little modern technology can be worth the purchase price. the sound of dogs barking to nothing to discourage this break in tuesday morning. two men kick in the door of the house on glassboro road in upper pittsgrove township with the dogs keeping their teeth to themselves, home security footage shows burglar scouring the home, and then a change and then men quickly leave. what you do not hear because off the recording limitations is that the home owner spoke to the burglars through a inter come and told them to leave. >> she was able to talk to them and scare them away. >> reporter: dennis pool lives next door and said state

resolve syria's civil war. meeting comes one week before president obama travels to sawed a rain use for a summit with persian gulf leaders. taking a look at weather, a gorgeous spring day full of blue skies and sunshine. the area indirectly this weekend. ill a he explain that in a bit. in the meantime lets talk about temperatures right now. a little bit below average. we should be in the lower 60's. we are 57 degrees in philadelphia, 56 in allentown, 54 in lancaster. but without a lot of wind and with the full, bright sunshine throughout the day it feels nice outside. we will wake up to chilly temperatures tomorrow morning though, 40's the morning low in the sit. notice north and western suburbs waking up in the 30's and we have a front advisory to tell but, again, far north and western suburbs of philadelphia, including upper bucks, montgomery county, western chester, lehigh valley and all of south jersey could see frost tomorrow morning. but once that frost moves out, once it starts to melt off, we will expect temperatures to surge tomorrow afternoon and they are just going to keep on getting warmer. we have got 70's in the forecast, i'll tell you when those 70's get here and we will have your weekend outlook coming up when i join you inside, back over to you. well, one of the biggest stars around will put on a big concert this summer right here

warmer, and warmer. the lets take a quick look at our live neighborhood network sites. almost looks like a beautiful beach day, at the margate beach patrol camera. i saw a woman walking her white dog down the sand. good day for a walk. still chilly. shore will be a spot the that does stay on the cooler side throughout the weekend thanks to a wind off water. we will talk more about that in a bit. lets start off with a look at storm scan three. it shows bank of cloud moving through central pennsylvania few more clouds in here as we go through this evening. but other than that everything is very quiet. even as we zoom out we are not seeing much of anything. part of the country getting wet, portions of the deep south, heavy rain, strong thunderstorms across texas, that has moved into the gulf coast region, florida, georgia, and that system will head out to sea and we could feel some impact mainly in the form of wind from that system this weekend. in the meantime temperatures are warming up, today, still on the cool side for april, 57 n philadelphia. fifty-six in allentown. 56 degrees in trenton. as we zoom out it is chillier

on the cbs-3 healthwatch more than a million athletes, experienced a concussion, in the u.s., every year. and now researchers are looking at a new way to diagnosis, concussions, quickly and more easily. >> health reporter stephanie stahl is here now to explain how. >> reporter: we have talked about concussion as a lot and as we have told you concussions can be complicated to difficult. well, this new research involves a portable ultrasound, headset, that can be used on the sidelines, so coaches can determine if it is an injured athlete that needs

more tests. high school junior kordell ross says he blacked out after making a tack until football practice last year. >> they had had me try to remember five words and i could not remember any of them, then they had me stand up and walk back but i could in the do it. >> reporter: ross is part of the study detecting a faster way to detect concussions. it involves this headset called a transcranial doppler device. scientists demonstrate how it works using ultrasound to map blood flow changes in the brain. >> brain vice good at regulating blood flow and during a concussion it impairs the ability of the brain to regulate blood flow. >> reporter: it compared ultrasound of 200 high school athletes. technology was able to tell if the player had a concussion 83 . >> right now we're in the research phases of this. >> reporter: ross's football coach says the head set would help him do his job tools like this will go a long way to making coaches and everyone feel like we have a handle on this. >> reporter: maybe better protect athletes so they can

west. that is bit. zooming out a cross the greater, eastern half of the country you can see a storm in the deep south but as that moves out to sea, this big dome of high pressure you can see clear skies over portions of the upper midwest. that will be moving eastward and taking control. that means high pressure in control for days upon days. we will start out on the cool side of the high and then transition to the warmer side of the the high, by later in the weekend and into next week but constant will be the sunshine. we have nothing but sun in the forecast right through next monday, a at least. and right now it is 57 degrees in philadelphia a. fifty-six in reading. fifty in mount pocono. sunny, beautiful, in the a lot of wind but still on the cool side. tomorrow we are right back to average for this time of the year with highs in the lower 60's. friday back to the mid 60's and then notice as that high continues to flip eastward we will warm things up. we are in the upper 60's by saturday. just a gradual progression. with that high overhead though and a closed low, storm off the coast as we head in the weekend that storm will will stay away from frustrates at let directly but it will cause a
