"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live there this morning, to give us a tour. good morning, jan. >> jim, brooke, good morning. we are just hanging out in the beautiful franklin square this morning, the sun is up, take a look around. the philadelphia chinese lantern festival has taken shape here, and it is finally ready to open tonight. you can see, great daylight look. real beautiful in the day. but at night it is absolutely spectacular. and someone is here with us this morning to help put all of this on. this is jesse lee, with the company that has developed all of. >> this and decided to bring it to philadelphia. thanks for being on our show. i appreciate you coming out. >> thank you so much for having me. >> what's it take to put on a display of this scope? there are 25 larger than life displays here. >> yes. we try to fill the square with a a lot of lanterns, weaver almost in total 20 artisans coming since late february. and they started working on this for the whole several

weeks, until we finish. >> one of the biggest displays, if not the biggest, one that took the biggest undertaking, is that giant dragon that we see. what did it take to develop that and bring it to life? >> oh, we have several artisans working on that for several days, including, putting the bodies topping. we use a crane to work the morning, to get the dragon head on top of. that will and also, this is a really big dragon. so this one the very biggest. >> and describe what it takes to develop these lanterns. i understand this is all silk around metal. and then, 15,000led's to bring it to life? >> we have hand made thing, because, you know, like this, and like that beautiful, it can only be made with hands. so that can make it very alive. >> something like this, these lanterns, are common place in

china, but very special for us here. is this the first time in the northeast this has been brought? >> yes, the first time. this is a special way to express chinese culture. and we're thinking that with this way that more people could know chinese culture, know china in a different way. that's why we brought it like this. >> jesse, thanks so much for being on our show. it is absolutely beautiful. you guys it, opens today, it runs through june the 12th, and now, franklin square remains open throughout the day. so you can check it out in daylight at 6:00. that's when you have to get your ticket, but you got to see it at night when it is dark. it is absolutely spectacular. jim, brooke, into you. >> expecting rain today i hear. but will this weekend be nice to check out the chinese lantern festival? >> looks pretty phenominal guys, sun setting right now just after 7:45, wouldn't be long even if you showed upright when the doors open before that sun is setting and you can see the real nice light. it is just an awesome view out that way. meanwhile, the eyewitness weather watchers are hard at

work. weep got a lot of reports this last hour, thanks for sending them in. we zero in. let's go little wider than that, we zero in, go on down to new castle county. 61 degrees comes into us this morning from sally, nice and mild here in wilmington, and just this says it all, tgif, right? stealing meisha's line here, tgif. further off to the northeast, 57 comes into us from william. he has partly sunny sky this hour. to one more we go, 61 degrees comes in from jerry aubrey, out in blue bell, also seeing partly sunny sky, saying there is no rain yet, but his bar testimony at the continues to drop and top andiron. what that means we've got low pressure on the move. look at this wide zoom, actual center of circulation far removed way off to the north. how much, it is dragging a cold front back through our area here. and as that continues to move through, what we end up with more than anything a scattered variety of showers and thunderstorms. timing on this looks like it has shifted little bit.

it is mainly later on today, and into tonight, that we see any casino of widespread showers or storms. but even still, looking scattered. now, i bring up the drought monitor. you know, we still have pretty exceptional drought across california, even here at home we've gone pretty decent stretch without much wet weather at all. even portions every montgomery, bucks, become abnormally dry. not in a drought by any stretch but could use some rain at this point, that's all it means. today 78 degrees, before that front crosses, lingering shower at worse early tomorrow morning, generally speaking meisha this looks like great weekend, monday not bad either. >> sunday, monday, look awesome. today asks awesome. it is friday. right? dry roadways right now, we know the rain will be pushing later. right now nice dry roadways, just very busy out there. what we are looking at, vehicle, still there, just beyond this tow truck right there, the schuylkill eastbound approaching montgomery, also had another
