at about 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of wharton street when she noticed a man following her. detectives say that's when she quickly trapped p grabbed her mace. >> she was aware that she was being followed she thought she was and as a precaution she took it out and correct in doing so. if it wasn't for that, who knows what would have happened. >> reporter: surveillance video from the area provided police with clear images of the suspect. also, a glimpse at the victim's struggle her hand scene here around the suspect's neck. >> the offender then rushed up behind her, grabbed her, tackled her to the ground, and he pulled her dress down --, the top of her dress he pulled down exposing her. she managed to fight him off and pepper spray him at which time he fled. >> reporter: police began distributing crime bulletins throughout the neighborhood. >> the specific location, and then the details and then contact numbers for the police. >> reporter: theresa is thankful for the information a after living in the neighborhood more than 20 years she's more on

beautiful. let's take a look what's going on. today we started off with lots of sun and sun and warm wind from the southwest helped temperatures rise into the upper 70s. 78 in philadelphia today. you can see how the clouds rolled in the late afternoon most of the rain held off. we did see some showers pop up here and there mainly off to our south this afternoon but you can see now we're starting to get these showers moving a little bit closer. we're still in a bit of a lull here. we're seeing some light showers over portions of south jersey and delaware. the heaviest rain is across portions of the carolinas and virginia but you can see here over portions of central pennsylvania a line of steadier showers has developed now this first patch here the instead yesterday batch should probably miss us to the north. but eventually these showers an few thunderstorms possibly will roll through overnight. right now the instead yesterday rain some showers over burlington county. up into northeast philadelphia portions of lower bucks county seeing rain at the moment. nothing quite that heavy yet but overnight a rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out. so 66 is the temperature right now in philadelphia.

definitely warm enough that these storms could have little bit of a moisture and heat to work with as they come through tonight. 66 in allentown. it's 68 degrees in trenton right now. you can see timing wise, we do expect this to move in closer to around 2:00 a.m. some rain down the shore even before that. 3am showers still crossing that was. 5am you may wake up if you're up early on saturday you're crazy unless you have to go to work you should be sleeping. showers moving through finally by 10am the showers move out and then we start to see clearing and by the afternoon sunny pretty much across the board. overnight scattered showers, localized brief downpour is possible. imbeded thunderstorm as well a crack of thunder could wake you up overnight. gradual clearing the day on saturday and temperatures in the 60s near 70 tomorrow afternoon. it will be a breezy day but still really nice. high pressure overhead sunday means wall to wall sunshine little bit cooler mainly because we start the day cooler on sunday thanks to clear sky but monday we warm right back up to the upper 70s. so again we've got your cooler, crisp spring weather mid 60s on sunday.
