broken line of thunderstorms moving through so not everybody will get rained on but they are starting to intensify along this line right here moving through philadelphia at the moment and back to the west. we are watching this one cell in harrisburg poised to move in lancaster county. another cell south of philadelphia over delaware county and this one moved off the coast that was previously warned over burlington and ocean counties. i want to focus over this one in netter providence township that has lightening, pretty heavy rain. it does not have a warning at the moment but moving east at 359 miles an hour, and that will put it near darby by 5:06, west deptford by 5:16, deptford by 5:22 and gloucester by 5:29. biggest threat is strong damaging wind in excess of the 60 miles an hour as well as potential for some hail, in excess of three-quarters of an inch in diameter, and very heavy rain that will slow down, the rest of the afternoon commute. we are still under a severe thunderstorm watch for the area until 9:00 o'clock tonight. biggest threats with any of these storms damaging wind and hail and i do expect next

couple of hours to be when we are under the gun for severe weather and then starts to die down after 7:00 o'clock or so. still in the the slight risk for entire region. we have a severe weather out break just getting underway in the planes, that one has been labeled a particularly dangerous situation. we will have more on that coming up. heading out to the polls this evening, scattered showers and storms, not every spot get hit but these storms could turn briefly severe, heavy downpours, gusty wind and possible hail this evening. if you are out and about see those dark cloud rolling in time to move things indoors, and big changes with the storms moving out, warm temperatures do as well, i'll tell but those changes coming up, jessica. now, to campaign 2016, it is primary day in pennsylvania, and delaware. the voters are finally having their say. we're told, turnout is steadily. >> front runners in the presidential race are looking to solidify their path the to the nomination here in philadelphia and cleveland.

"eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter joins us from election central with plenty of excitement, walt. >> reporter: ukee, despite importance and excitement of this election only one of the candidates, hillary clinton, will actually be here in town tonight when we start counting the votes. three g.o.p. candidates already in other parts of the country, already eyeing primaries in the future and democratic candidates, bernie sanders is out of town as well, however, he was here earlier paying a special visit to the reading terminal market where he surprised and delighted a lot of folks. suddenly politics was on the menu at reading terminal market. bernie sanders shaking hand, turning down offers of these steaks and lots of other goodies, before accepting a gift of blue bliss, and posing for a selfie with zoe at fair food farm stand. i got him a bag of blueberries and shook his hand. i was like you will do great. >> pennsylvania is one of the the key states of today, lot of delegates and we will do everything we can to capture

every possible vote we can. >> reporter: as sanders departed, heading to west virginia in advance of that state's may primary, hillary clinton will be in center city this evening with experters as results begin to roll role in. donald trump now plans to be in new york city, counting votes and delegates, not the just in pennsylvania's primary, but four others underway today. looking ahead to the may third, indiana primary, ted cruz will be holding a rally there. while john kasich, who also had planned to be in the indiana canceled his plans, for an election night gathering there, after he and ted cruz, united their campaigns attempting to stop trump so while most of the candidates will be out of state, the voters most definitely were inside their polling places, all very large, turnout today, and fortunately officials say the large turnout, everything went, extremely smoothly. live from election central i'm

walt hunter, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". voters in delaware are also heading to the polls in large numbers, "eyewitness news" at highland elementary in wilmington, presidential race is the main attraction on the ballot, no local races are being decided, the polls close at 8:00 p.m. one of the most watched local races is for pennsylvania's second congressional district. incumbent congressman chaka fattah is autopsy against three democratic challengers and "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff tells us what is at stake. >> reporter: we have seen a steady stream of voters at various locations, but when it comes to this race there is a very significant elephant in the room. the most contested congressional race, in the second district has seen in over two decade once again centers around the man who has held the seat for 11 terms. >> this is a great morning. >> reporter: congressman chaka fattah cast his ballot this morning and will face trial for federal corruption charges next month. >> voters of the district to have decide to punch my

ticket. we will win today because of the work we have done and their support of the work that we will continue to do and watching. >> reporter: state senator dwight evans first ran for office at the age of 26, he now seeks to represent the district comprised of a large part of philadelphia in a section of montgomery county. >> i have been making my case for the last four months trying to get across the importance of some representation in the second congressional district. >> reporter: attorney dan miroff told "eyewitness news" that his decision was not directly due to congressman fattah's charges but because of the need to provide voters with another option. we met him at the polls as well. >> i'm excited. turnout has been great and reception has been great. i'm exited to what it will be tonight, we will find out. >> reporter: lower merion town hip commissioner brian gordon is fourth democrat on the ballot, the attorney has focus had his career on civil rights. >> people are looking at the campaign as a chance to address forgotten neighborhood, need for schools, better schools, libraries, after school programs and second chances

"eyewitness news" was at mcginty's polling place in wayne earlier this morning where she cast her vote as one of her daughters stood by her side. we have captured a rival, former congressman and three star navy admiral joe sestak. the sestak stood in line with other voters before casting

his vote at his polling location in gradyville. john fedderman voted in pittsburgh, mayor of the braddock is running as a political outsider, allegheny county businessman joeys also on the ballot. also on the ballot today candidates bat tolling succeed pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane. "eyewitness news" was there as democratic candidates josh shapiro cast his vote in meadow brook. republican candidates john rafferty headed to the voting booth in eagleville. also running on the republican side, joseph peters, and on the democratic side, joe morganelli and steven is a pala. the poles are opened in pennsylvania and delaware, you still have time, they will be opened until 8:00 o'clock tonight. now in other news tonight there is a big break in the cold case police have made an arrest in the 2003 arson in olney that killed five family members, including an infant. "eyewitness news" reporter rahel solomon is at police headquarters with how police crack the case.

>> reporter: look hard enough on the 100 block of widener street and see evidence of what happened here 13 years ago, middle of the night, november 18th, 2003. >> then i could hear the mother screaming, calling for her sons. >> reporter: ferocious fire swept through this olney home killing three month-old jacqueline santiago, her mother, claire deville, and her father 23 year-old john santiago, his 17 year old brother allie and their mother francis contact dejesus. investigators say early on it was arson but they never said hot suspect arsonist was, and why, until right now. >> this is over a bar fight, and pride, yes, santiago got in the fight with the suspect and a couple of his friend but he was an excellent boxer at the time, a skilled boxer and he beat two or three of them up and because of their pride being hurt, they bent back, found out where he lives, came to the house and set the house on fire. >> reporter: police say witnesses led them to the

suspect three two-year old abdul riveria who was still living in philadelphia. the sister of the victim, now living in florida, spoke to me over the phone and said this, i think i thank everyone for helping with the case. it is a happy day but also a sad day. this has been a tragedy that has left a hole in my heart that can never be filled. neighbors meantime also had a mixed reaction, they say they are relieved but that no arrests, can have memories that haunt them. >> every time you look at that house you remember that night. you remember that night. >> reporter: philadelphia police say suspect riveria was very surprised to see them when they pick them up on monday evening. there was a reward for information leading to the suspects, police say those witnesses hoff come forward will receive a share of that reward money. reporting from police headquarters, rahel sol machine for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police continue their search foreman who abduct and sexually assaulted a woman in west philadelphia this past weekend. investigators say she was

forced in to a car an held captive for 11 hours. that 20 year-old was then able to break free, and neighbors came to her aid, they called police, this suspect is described as a black male about 23 years old with dread locks and a long beard. police are also looking for the man seen in this photos. this is suspect in the south philadelphia rape attempt. last week, allegedly forced a 19 year-old woman to the ground on wharton street. she was able to fight back and spray him with mace. this man is identified as a black man around 37 years of age standing 5-foot seven and weighing 225-pound. investigators are searching for the cause behind an overnight house fire, in chadds ford, delaware county. we will show you video from dave smiley, who shows the home on dog wood hill lane completely covered in flames. fire fighters responded to the scene around 2:00 this morning, no injuries were reported. chopper three over a warehouse fire in south philadelphia, fire fighters were called to the 3600 block

a minnesota court could decide who will inherit prince multi million-dollar fortune n court papers filed today prince's sister tyka nelson said he did not have a will. she asked the court to appoint a special administrator to oversee his estate. the 57 year-old music superstar died last thursday and it could be weeks before the cause of death is released. authorities in northern california, are looking for a woman hossa tempt to walk her dog, could kill the animal. take a a look at this video. woman is driving around in her car, with her dog outside on a leash and you can see the dog trying to keep up there. this video was posted on line and went viral and a lot of people were very, very upset about it. woman who recorded the video confronted the women seen in the video. >> you have a dog and don't feel like getting out to walk it then you shouldn't have a dog. >> an investigation is underway to identify the woman in the car. let's talk with kate about

our forecast and still tracking thunderstorms in some spots. >> in some spots, yeah, as we talk b these are scatter storms. not everybody will get the rain. if you don't, enjoy your lucky, sunny 84 degrees day but we do have some nasty storms that are popping up in portions of the area, this afternoon and this evening. skill under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9:00 o'clock tonight. just keep an eye to the sky. no need to cancel plans but if you are outside, definitely move on inside if you are at baseball practice or something like that if you see dark cloud, start to move in because these storms can form quickry. lets look at what is going on. we will go to one spot that got thunderstorms, cleared out behind the thunderstorms and see rainbow in the distance there we saw that on the kutztown camera, and it looks nice. seventy-six in the wake of the storms that moved through that area just a bit ago. take a look at that line of storms we are tracking through the rest of this afternoon and they are packing a punch. no severe thunderstorm warnings at the moment but you can see batch of nasty weather just poised to move into lancaster county.

that will continue its trajectory over chester county and eventually possibly into south jersey and delaware this front will get more of the southward push as well but we may all get in on the severe weather before the evening is through. right just above philadelphia crossing over camden and gloucester counties we have heavy rain here, possibly even some hail and strong gusty wind. this storm is not warned but will slow down traffic on i-95. back to the west there is that cell that moved from the harrisburg area into northern lancaster count a long the turnpike here, it does have lightening as well as heavy downpours, so if you are in chester county, possibly a long the turnpike or route 30, eventually watch out for this cell that will move through your area eventually. you can see difference between temperatures to the south and to the north, cooler air starting to move in, as that front progresses, southward, 60 in mount pocono. seventy-two in philadelphia still very warm, south of the boundary, 85 right now in dover. eighty-four in millville. 85 degrees in atlantic city. so for voting the rest of this evening 6:00 p.m. is when you want to keep an eye out.

it will be 80 degrees. showers and thunderstorms. we will start to clear things out around seven or 8:00 o'clock but even through 8:00 o'clock no guaranties there won't be thunderstorms around in delaware, they may be dodging some rain drops as you head to the polls but don't let it keep you at home. future weather shows these showers and storms clearing by about 7:00 o'clock. still lingering showers or storm down the shore around 9:00 but everything is out by 9:00. i'm concern about tomorrow and we have talked about this yesterday, this front will stall off to the south and place where it stalls is going to determine tomorrow's weather, also your location will determine tomorrow's weather. is there an indication that a couple showers in the morning may form south of the philadelphia, the cloud will eventually clear from north to south during the course of the day but wouldn't be shocked if a couple showers pop up. just a 5 percent chance of rain for your wednesday but then, thursday, friday, showers, creeping back in the forecast, temperatures drop and it will feel more like that april showers kind of weather we are used to this time of the year. overnight scared earth storms early and cloudy and cooler down to 51. for your wednesday, some sun,

>> is there always a little confusion on election day. people forget you have to register. you have to register a month before the election. clearly for some of bernie sanders he has done better in open primaries or when people can register and vote on the same day, but, you know, i think after a few hours, the kinds get ironed out and i think people every pretty steady right now. >> david, we saw senator sanders pop up at reading terminal market. a at this stage of the game what wins votes, is it popping up, advertising, heavy advertising or does it always come back down to the issues. >> i think this has been a personality driven kind of campaign. i mean between donald trump and ted cruz and certainly bernie sanders and hillary clinton, is there some big personalities in the race. hillary clinton is here. they have all been here. that is significant. she's here sort of auditioning for what she hopes ace critical role in july but the rest of them have been there, pumping up the base.

off to the south. strongest one we have been watching is over lancaster county over chester county. not warned the at the moment but could still pack a punch with heavy rain and strong gusty wind. we had a severe thunderstorm warning for burlington and ocean counties and that storm has moved off the coast. here's one over delaware county right around chester area looking intense, very small storm, moving through quickly. heavy intense downpours as well as some lightening as well as with that one and moving back to the west you can see this one over chester county and we are tracking it here. it is moving to the east and it is really moving quickly. it will impact portions of northern delaware, southern chester county and delaware county. west goshen by 6:03. upper darby 6:19. it moves into camden by 6:27. evesham township by 6:39. that severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for vast majority of the area, notice poconos, northern lehigh valley not included in that watch off to the south until 9:00 p.m. for that severe thunderstorm watch. take a look at the difference

a rally for hillary clinton later tonight. polls have shown clinton with the strong lead over her democratic opponent bernie sanders here in the state of pennsylvania. some polls showing double digits at this point. so both candidates have since made several appearances here in the philadelphia area over the last couple of days or so, just trying to get out the vote, just ahead of the today's primary. we are told voter turnout has been steady and all throughout the state. meantime, hillary clinton has set her sites on indiana right now where she addressed ironworkers earlier today. she's joined by former president bill clinton on the campaign trail ahead of the that state's primary on may third. also this morning, bernie sanders surprised folks at reading terminal in center city. shaking hand, hoping get out the vote, sanders is now off to west virginia in advance of that state's may tenth primary. clinton, of course, will be back here in philadelphia at 8:30 tonight for rally that is set to get underway and joining us now is cbs
