this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news" this morning. the philadelphia eagles select carson wentz. >> well no surprise here, carson wentz is the newest eagle. our don bell spoke to the new quarterback right after the pick. >> new this morning, a man is lucky to be alive after being shot three times. we have what police are hoping to find inside a frankford home right now. >> and it was the talk of the country. now governor chris christie is sticking up for his wife. what he says about those eye rolling rumors. today is friday, april 29, good morning, i'm jim donovan. >> i'm brooke thomas. hope you are having a great morning so far. meisha here with traffic, katie here with your forecast, good morning. >> good morning, tgif. little slick out there. >> i know, but we already have

a spin out crash. i'll get to that in just a moment. >> obviously wet weather to dodge. radar doesn't look all that impressive, but definitely some rain out there, coming through very scattered, off and on throughout the course of the day here today. yes, doesn't look like much, right? but definitely damp roads to work with, meisha will have all of your traffic cameras coming up. at the moment looks can be deceiving. what i would tell you is this. it will be one of those days where it is off and on with light rain, and/or drizzle, it is cloudy, it is not necessarily super windy out, there but it is damp and chilly. so, 46 degrees currently at the airport, in the a terribly far cry from where we stood yesterday with the temperatures at the same time. but once more, like we saw yesterday, you are not going to see heck of a lot of movement on the thermometer readings here today at best we will get new the mid 50's around the better part of the region. at the shore, rather, up at the poconos, may not even crack 50 degrees here today. one of those days that the umbrella probably good idea. but not going to get drenched with the rain moving in. rather, it is this off and on

light rain, light drizzle situation that will linger with us through the better part of the day, don't bank on seeing a lot of sunshine out there. so there actually a bright spot to the forecast? eventually there will be, at least for the weekend, there is one day that's definitely going to stay dry, however, we do brighten up next week, and we will have full details on the full forecast for you a bit later in the show. meisha, over to you. >> kind of annoying weather, almost need umbrella, but do need an umbrella thanks, good morning, happy friday to you. taking a look at the vine, vine never closed overnight, good news for those of you moving in the westbound, eastbound direction, early risers, also see the glare on the roadway, letting us know it is wet indeed out there. little damp. ramp from 95 north to the blue route, 95 leading to the blue route. ramp now open. dealing with the construction closures for the past couple of weeks actually. that looks all good there. this is where we had the accident that's just now been cleared out of the way. where we have the spin out. 422 eastbound at oaks, it was blocking a rain, then pulled off to the shoulder now all

clear. just know that because it is wet out there, chance of spin out may go up most certainly indeed. nine at headlight in the southbound direction, past betsy ross bridge, you can see looking okay here. a lot of the camera shot actually seeing the droplet on the camera lens letting us know it is wet out there. burlington bristol bridge open, will close again saturday, sunday night, will be open tonight. jim, over to you. >> thanks, meisha a the eagles now officially have their quarterback of the future. >> the birds took carson wentz with the second pick in last night's nfl draft. wentz was on hand at draft headquarters in chicago of course for all of the festivities. taken right after the rams picked quarterback jared with the first overall picket, wentz's hometown of bismarck, north dakota went crazy at the news, and wentz, one thing about eagles fans. >> passionate, you know, that's all i ever hear how passionate they are. and i love that. they have high expectations, i have high expectations, i'm very passionate, and i'll fit in pretty well. >> if you didn't know the newest eagle led his north

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live outside northeast detective, with the latest on the investigation. jan, what have you learned? >> reporter: jim, good morning, police say it was a woman who pulled the trigger and that she was caught by police, just four blocks away from the shooting scene. now, she, and a man she was seen leaving the scene with this morning are in custody and the victim of the shoot something in the hospital in stable condition, expected to survive. take a look at the video. police say the shooting

happened right around frankford avenue, ann margaret street right around 12:30 this morning. they were called therefore shot fired. when officers arrived, they found a 43 year old man lying on the sidewalk shot three times, including once in the face. witnesses in the area say it was a woman who pulled that trigger, left the scene with a man in this car last seen traveling west on arrott street. police found the car just four blocks a way in the area of margaret and mulberry. two suspect were taken into custody at home nearby, and id by witnesses, police are hoping to find the weapon used in this morning's shooting inside of that home. police are also interviewing witnesses, at northeast detective, and collecting surveillance video around the shooting scene. >> not only is it a major l stop, and a major septa hub, we found several surveillance cameras. there is also a philadelphia police real-time crime camera right at the intersection of frankford ann margaret. so, hopefully, these cameras recorded something that can help us with the shooting

investigation. >> now, at this time, police do not have a motive for the shooting, but again, that 43 year old man who was shot was taken to temple university hospital. he is currently in stable condition expected to survive this investigation is continuing this morning. we're reporting live outside northeast detective, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, brooke, back into you. >> thank you, jan. police need your help catching four teenagers, dollars for robbery and assault on temple university campus. >> police tell us 43 year old man walking near 13th and norris streets sunday when the teens punched, kicked, grabbed his shirt. off duty temple university police officer chased the suspect away. the victim suffered minor injuries. now, surveillance cameras captured the teen suspect walking down norris street. investigators say they're between the ages of 16 and 19 years old. >> three student could be charged today in the death of their 16 year old classmate in wilmington. police say sophomore amy

joyner francis assault the by three student in a girls rest room last week at howard high school of technology. she died from her injuries. school officials suspended three girls involved in the fight. anti-girls violence rally is planned tonight at 7:00 in new castle. funeral services for amy joyner francis are on sunday at the st. paul uame church in wilmington. >> the suspect accused of killing a fellow church member in montgomery county is behind bars on $250,000 bail this morning. mark storms is facing charges of voluntary manslaughter. prosecutors say storms shot and killed robert braxton sunday inside keystone fellowship church in montgomery montgomery count -- township, happened between fight between the two. storms claims he had a concealed carried permit, prosecutors say this was not a reasonable case of self-defense. >> overnight north korea sentenced south korean american to ten years of hard labor. kim done actual was detained

on suspicion of spying and stealing state secret. china state media reports he admitted to gathering information about north korea nuclear program during interview with cnn. the network says they were unable to determine if the admission was made under durress, because north korean officials were in the room at the time. in campaign 2016, hundreds of protesters clash with the police at a donald trump rally in california. fights broke out on the street outside the amphitheatre. protesters stomped on cars, through rocks at drivers even smashed a police car. more than dozen people were arrested, many of the protesters wanted to voice their opposition to trump over his policies on immigration. >> also, a suspicious substance found in a letter mailed to donald trump's campaign office in new york city. it is being tested, but right now police say they think it is harmless. a staffer opened the letter last night and immediately notified security.

if you remember last month the fbi investigated suspicious powder that piece of mail sent to donald trump's son eric. >> so did governor christie's wife really roll her eyes at donald trump the other night? well, the governor calls it media silliness. twitter lit up with marry pat christie's reaction after the comment only doing well because she is a woman. says as the recipient of more eye rolls from his wife, quote, than any human being on earth, he can confirm it was not an eye roll. >> happening today, thousands of runners participating in this weekend's broad street run, they're going to head to the convention center to get ready for the race. the run's health and fitness expo opens at 11:00 this morning, participant can pick up their race essentials, and brouse dozens of vendors, one of the city's biggest running events, kicks off 8:00 a.m. sunday. >> well, still ahead this morning, the big deadline looming this weekend for atlantic city, and when will happen if they miss it.

>> looking at wilds case of road rage, captured on camera in miami. look at that, watching the man clinic to the front after car, as the driver keeps going down the street, even making a u-turn. now, witnesses say, they heard two men arguing, and when the man standing in front of the vw sedan refused to move, the driver took off. thankfully, un believe bridge, no one was hurt. >> authorities have spent the night at the home of a man who triggered quite a scare at a baltimore tv station. >> the suspect's father

identifies him as 25 year old alex brizy, satisfy car on fire, walked into the station dressed in a panda suit claim to go have a bomb. his father says the man had recently broken up with his girlfriend, and had a mental breakdown. >> he said that he had a vision from god and that the world was going to end, and he thought on june the third. >> well, a police sniper shot brizzi after he ignored demands to show his hands, what he claimed was bomb was actually candy bars. he is recovering in a baltimore hospital. so far police have not filed charges. >> well, that is special day for the duke and duchess of cambridge. >> today william and kate celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. back on april 29th, 2011 the two were married basically in a fairytale wedding. today they are expected to mark the day privately at kensington palace, will most likely catch up with two year old george and little charlotte who turns one

monday. >> wow. >> yes, time is flying. >> good weekend for them. >> oh, yes, exciting. >> talking 4:45, meisha is watching the roads this morning. >> yes, i am. good morning, happy friday everyone. roads are looking okay. we did have one spin out crash, it is slick out there. katie how long will this linker? >> this is one of those dreary forecasts, pay back for sure for all of the gorgeous weather we've enjoyed as of late. today not wash out, but damp, dreary, clammy outside, one of those days you could take the umbrella or leave t because any time that the rain comes through it should be very light in nature. really just talks about some areas of light rain and drizzle any time here today. so expect that that will be the case, you know, just one of those days, as a result of all of the clouds and the damp weather that's out there, temperatures get limited to the mid 50's at best. so cooler than average day, very significant cooler than average day. looking at storm scan3, yes, doesn't look like much, right? sometimes can be very deceiving. so expect that even despite what the radar is suggesting, you might need to flick the

windshield wipers, put the scarf over your head, that kind of thing, that could happen any time here today. much wider zoom, next storm system getting i had act together, what will traverse the us and bring with it our next rounds of steadier rain, and that looks like it will be getting here sunday. i don't come bearing the best weather news for the broad street run this time around. let me walk you through it, today is cloudy, damp, light rain, drizzle, 56 at best, and normally, we are flirting with seven operative point of the yearment so definitely cooler than average day, areas of drizzle continue tonight, then finally catch break saturday it, will stay dry, that next storm system does move in by saturday night, so it sped up little bit here. looks like broad street run will ends up bringing in some steady rain for that morning, and the better part of the day. so, be ready. it will be somewhat soggy on the course. looking forward by monday, even still some lingering showers, it will be slow moving system, but by actuals, oh, what's this? sunshine. how about that? nice little change of pace. flirting with 70 where we should. also, see the sun return,

meisha a i know you're sort of zeroing in for sure. >> sure, i swear, katie, like it is the cause for celebration when i see that sun, tell you what, especially after all of this rain, right? have to make do with this morning. you can see the raindrops on camera lens, a lot are looking like there is some of the roads are look being damp, as well, plus i mentioned at the desk, we did have spin out crash already this morning. it is slick out there. again, wet here delaware county 95 north at 452 approaching the airport by the way speaking of the airport, if you have a flight later today so you know airport looking good right now, flights are all looking on time, might want to check those on line just to make sure before you head out just because we do have the rainy weather. ninety-five south at account man, what you are looking around at the s curve, still nice and quiet it, will change even continuing into the 5:00 hour, although fridays tends to be one of the lighter travel days. ben franklin bridge what you are looking at this morning for those of you heading into jersey from center city looking good. both directions look government you can see evidence by this bridge shot, when we get that glare on that bridge it let you know that it

>> another dreary day, not the nicest way to rap up a work week, but at least we're wrapping up a work week, right? at this point the radar doesn't look all that impressive. what you will ends up finding out there today, guys, kind of just smattering of light little dots of green on the area radar. but it, doesn't necessarily mean that you can go by the radar all the time. we will be dodging rounds of light rain, drizzle any time. sometimes it doesn't show up on radar, so expect that you could get wet out there if you are waiting on train platform, waiting for a bus, any time today. 46 degrees, the current temperature at the airport, and very much within that range around the entire region

gross, it is raining out there, so give yourselves some extra time. >> radar very deceiving t looks like okay maybe got couple of specs recalls out there. yes, not heavy rain, but anybody is fair game right now to see some light mist, drizzle, enough that you probably have to flick the windshield wipers once, twice, so do keep it in mind. we have some clouds out there. also, some showers to dodge here and there, pretty light in nature, though, and we're going to continue to see that throughout the course of the day really any time. so, temperatures at best, held into the mid 50's for us here today, where we stand right now, in the 40's, and we're going to keep you generally in this range for the next couple of hours. mid 50's at best for you, throughout the course of the afternoon, and as we take a quick peak here at the eyewitness weather day planner, you can expect, again, spotty showers, spotty areas of mist, drizzle, mid 50's at best throughout the course of the day, and it is going to feel awfully chilly to you as a result. so keep it in mind as you hit the road here
