>> he's a man trying to get ready for his job. owe he's focused. >> i like that. >> thanks, don. >> new at 11:00 tempers player flare philadelphia mayor and police commissioner face harsh criticism town hall meeting to discuss the stop and frisk policies. natasha brown is live in north philadelphia with more on what the outrage was all about. natasha? >> reporter: you know this town hall was all about stop and frisk and the policy as it relates to philadelphia police. it was meant to open up a dialogue about this policy. instead it opened up plenty of emotional outbursts. >> town hall meeting on the city stop and frisk program quickly spiraled out of control. >> anger, frustration and pain from community members gathered at this church in north philadelphia. many feel the policy is unfair and targets african-americans. >> in philadelphia, we have stopped on average about 200 to

300,000 people a year, and of the two or 300,000 people about 80% of turned up that they have no contraband, they're not doing anything illegal. >> reporter: explosive emotional outbursts led to many leaving the meeting. >> you have to work together. you know what i'm saying. you have to love one another. instead of going about hating everybody. >> we came here to get some answers from the mayor and from the police commissioner. we want to hear them. i mean, a dialogue is when people talk. the other people talk. if you try to come in the middle, it's more emotional i. scream and holler over each on the. >> reporter: several calls for calm allowed for brief conversation between the community, police commissioner richard ross and mayor jim kenney. kenney said unequivocally during his campaign for mayor he would end stop and frisk by the philadelphia police department. he was fiercely questioned about when that would happen. >> i think as people have more opportunities to engage the mayor and the commissioner, um, and they get that off of their chest the next couple of times,

morning. when her little brother jumped in to help, he became the dog's' target and suffered a bite on his back. >> i just glad my sister didn't get hurt. and because i love her and she's helpful to me. >> neighbors beat the dog away with a shovel. the boy suffered minor injuries and will be treated for rabies as a pro caution. animal control has possession of the dog. scary moments two emergency landings at philadelphia international airport happened just minutes apart. >> let me know when you have the airport in sight as you turn it will be 12:00 o'clock and 8 miles. >> in sight. >> that was audio from this morning between the tower and american eagle flight 48 see one from richmond virginia operated by piedmont airline. the pilot warning the control tower that he would evacuate the plane once on the ground. that plane had smoke in the

cockpit and cabin. one passenger tweeted a photo of himself with the oxygen mask on and then another photo of passengers on the runway. 15 minutes before that emergency landing, the pilot of a republican airline flight reported flight control problems that. plane landed safely. hundreds of demonstrators descended on the california republican convention today to protest an appearance by donald trump. police placed barriers around the san francisco hotel but did it not work as the crowds continued to swell. trump had to be escort flood the convention through a secret entrance. he made sure to joke about the ordeal during his speech. >> that was not the easiest entrance i've ever made. heaviest rain will move through. because notice tomorrow you see a lot of cloud cover here. like i said it's not a beautiful day. but by 2:00 p.m. start to see the clouds breaking up just a little bit if we get enough sup i think temperatures do rise into the low to mid 60s. then this big wall of rain starts to move in overnight tomorrow night. right really over the region sunday morning just in time for everybody to head out to broad street. this is 7:00 a.m. heavy rain over philadelphia. it continues 8:00 a.m. it continues really through the day heaviest then lifts off to the north but notice it's still raining heavily at noon then it starts to move on out and we may dry thing out sunday evening. another round of rain monday morning. and then finally some clearing late monday into tuesday. how much rain are we talking? well we are deficit we need the rain so it's if news in that respect but we're looking at anywhere from half inch to possibly an inch. latest run of the rpm model has us over an inch of rain. over under three quarters of inch of rain this weekend. overnight light shower to drizzle overnight. 45.
