mondays, tuesdays, wet roadways. >> this really looks like one of the few days that's the wettest, heaviest rain falling. look at sort of snapshot view of storm scan3, few spots, got steadier rain coming down just southeast of i95 here. that's going to be spot where you are running into a lot of ponding on roadways, already got it out there, though, because we've seen the rain now falling for hours, across the region as a whole, few stronger thunderstorms have already since rolled through, those have thankfully tapered off. but the rain still out there. even if you have got few little speckles here, where, you know, things are drying out, at least for time it, doesn't mean that you are not going to be dealing with damp roads or the spray from other vehicles. so bottom line, it is a significant morning commute. it will slow you down. so, expect that. meanwhile, here is what you can expect for the rest of this morning showers at times, ponding on roadways, i broke through quite a bit myself this morning. so specter going to have to

obey the speed limit essentially here, use caution. things do get better as the day progresses, really what we will find is that as soon as we hit noontime generally worse of the showers pretty much tapering off. just overcast the rest of the afternoon. because of that overcast won't see much, as best, low 60s today. cooler day than average anyway again, worse of the wet weather later today at least i wouldn't call it bright spot, but dry spot later today. >> we will take it, anything we can get i'll take t i miss the sun already, don't you? happy tuesday. taking a look at the ben franklin bridge, looking very, very wet, and damp out there. obviously still looking good. still early, just pushing into the 5:00 hour. make note of this. this will change whenever we have wet roadways, see this drastically change as we push into the 6:00 hour, specially toward the rush hour. give yourself extra time this morning i certainly would do soment accident here 95 south

before naman's road, one right lane blocked right now for awhile there, blocking all lanes kind of intermittently, far right lane in that area. accident here in new jersey, route one northbound franklin corner road, two left lanes are still blocked there, also, a downed tree. perkioman ville road, at salford station road. so, all lanes are blocked right now. you will have to use alternate. gravel pike seems to be the best bet right now. as they try to move the large tree branch out of your way, all lanes block there right now. construction here, route 42 south bound the ramp to 295, off ramp just reopened, good news for those every in you jersey in and around that area, jim, brooke, back over to you. >> two people are recovering after being shot overnight in north philadelphia. >> police tell us the victims account of what has happened is not matching the evidence. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live outside temple hospital with the latest on the investigation. jan, what have you learned? >> jim, brooke, good morning. first and for most, philadelphia police are trying to figure out exactly where this shooting happened.

they say the victim's story just isn't really adding up this morning. in the meantime, two victims, two cousins, are behind me here at temple university hospital this morning recovering. >> cousins, caught up in gunfire, tuesday morning, in north philadelphia. a 16 year old shot four times in the legs and arms. his 20 year old female cousin shot once in the back. both are now in the hospital in stable condition being interviewed by police. >> it was around 1:00 a.m., when philadelphia police found the pair sitting outside a home on the 1100 block of glenwood avenue. but they tell police they were actually in the area of park avenue and somerset street when they were shot. they say a man approached them, and for unknown reason he opened fire. police, how much, have not yet been able to find a shooting scene and aren't sure if the victims are being truthful. >> the thing unusual about this particular shooting is both of the victims are found at least two blocks away from where not only where they live, where their address is, but also found two blocks away from where they state they

were when they were shot. >> police question if the shooting really happened at park and somerset. that will would mean the 16 year old who was shot three times in the legs was able to run for several blocks. police are also trying to figure out why the cousins ended up at this specific house on glenwood. >> i don't believe these detective will have probable cause to enter the house on glenwood, because they never made entry to the house. all they were doing was sitting on the steps. we're going to try to find out who lives there. right now nobody's come ewing of the house, the house is lock up and the house is dark. >> now, with this, philadelphia police don't have a motive, also no witnesses. they do say, how much, that this area of park and somerset is known to police as an area to buy and sell drugs. we will continue to follow this story. for now reporting live outside of temple university hospital. jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim, brooke, back into you. >> thank you, jan. >> philadelphia police are trying to figure fought two shootings in frankford are connected.

a 20 year old was taken to area frankford by private car, and told police he was shot on the 4900 block of charles street about 10:00 last night. police found a gun and seven spent shell casings there. another man is at temple. it is unclear if he was shot at the same scene, but both victims are in stable condition. philadelphia police say weather was a factor in a deadly crash in east falls this weekend. most of the victims were not wearing seatbelt. it happened on sunday afternoon on henry avenue. a 20 year old man and a six year old boy were killed. a babe hoy was in the carseat was critically injured. however, three adults, four children, were not restrained. >> there is no way to know but certainly if everyone was restrained, there clearly would be less severe injuries for sure, and maybe not anybody killed. >> two people in the other car were wearing seatbelt. they suffered leg injuries. >> convicted pedifile jerry sandusky appears in central pennsylvania courtroom asking for a new trial four years

after he was found guilty on dozens of sex abuse counts. we were there as he yelled out a message when he walked in. >> has been written -- >> sandusky ' defense team raised 33 issues with the original case. they want an evidentiary hearing which could lead to new trial. his attorneys argue sandusky didn't get a fair trial in 2012 largely because of his previous attorneys. they are also adding attorney general kathleen kane as a witness. >> as you recall, we went through this last fall where there is with a an allegation where she indicated that she was aware that her office in fact leaked this information which we think is very important. >> last week kane claimed she was victim of selective prosecution in her perjury trial over leaked grand jury testimony and point out no one was ever charged with the apparent grand jury leak in the sandusky case. sandusky is serving a 30 to 60 year sentence in state prison.

>> jury selection continues this morning in the federal corruption trial of congressman chaka fattah. accused of excepting bribes, misusing campaign funds, and federal grants. fattah denies the charges. opening arguments are scheduled for may 16. now, in last week's prime area, you will remember fattah lost the democratic nomination for a 12th term. lost to state rep dwight evans. >> montgomery county teacher suspended after having accused of having sex with a student. thirty-nine year old rose lumuli started a relationship with a boy, she teaches english at the school. she is due back in court later this month. >> indianna's presidential primary begins in less than an hour. donald trump says if he wins it, the republican nomination is his. trump has been making this case at a women hoosier state means end to the campaign of ted cruz and john kasich. meanwhile democrat hillary clinton and bernie sands remembers in a tight race. you'll hear the candidate

upset after a freight train derailed over the weaken leaking sodium hydroxide. >> well, the derailment was caught on surveillance camera near ninth and rhode island avenues early sunday morning, you can see the cars stack up and crash, several cars jumped the tracks. sodium hydroxide can cause respiratory issues, it was clean up a few hours later. >> there is no word if the derailment was the result of nasty weather, but, thunderstorms caused plenty of damage in d.c. over night. check out some lightning around the capitol building last night. the area was under a severe thunderstorm warning, and the storm's brought down trees, caused serious flooding, fortunately, no one was hurt. >> of course that stormy weather is hitting us this morning. i walked out in rain. >> oh, i didn't. >> no? >> maybe it d i was too in a daze from waking up so early, but katie we heard few rumbles every thunder over night. >> yes, we did, some of the strong thunderstorms like we saw down in d.c. did affect portions every delaware, maryland, and i can report that the thunderstorm aspect

of the wet weather has at least tapered off. still stuck with rain out there. and we start things off by taking you to very soggy view, out on the parkway, tough to tell if we didn't have the word being here to tell you where you were. because, yes, it just looks different. i don't know, maybe just me, but you have very, very damp roads obviously, one loan car, making its way down the parkway right now, meanwhile to another shot for you here, live neighborhood network next, what you will notice, this is a street lamp in the for grounds, with pleasant valley middle and high school in the background, what i like about this shot, you can see the rain falling from the street lamp. if you look real closely. yes, still rain falling, even at the dark and early hour of 5:14 this morning, and everybody's getting hit by this, even if you have a little pocket, where things have dried out briefly, you have got the damp roads. everyone will be facing a rough morning go here. now all of the moisture still needs to push through. thankfully looks like the back edge will start to push through with time. by the time we hit this afternoon, things should dry out. the morning drive, just soggy.

so don't expect that there will be any better time, any better window of time this morning, not until we hit the afternoon. that's when things do dry outment then tonight, that's 2:00 a.m., starting to see few more showers pop up. we will technically sit between systems through the day wednesday. still having allow enough moisture to work with for couple of scattered showers, overall, if you have outdoor plans, i think you can keep them. looks like we are stuck in more cloud cover than anything. here is where we stand. fifty-seven the current temperature at the airport, generally mid 50's everywhere else. few outline ers like mount pocono at 47 and dover where you are still flirting with 60 degrees right now, but as the days go on here, we are stuck essentially in the lower mid 60s, normally would be up to seven by this point. with all of the clouds out there, really limits the warmth. at least it feels like spring, right? still, soggy on friday, with additional showers, by the time we hit the weekend though meisha it is looking little bit better. not only milder but might actually see some sunshine for a change. >> that would be nice, katie, thank you. specially with the weekends. that's when we really want to see the sun, flight waking up

this tuesday morning with very well roadways, 4:00 hour seeing problems out there. most of those are being moved out of our way fairly quickly, looking right now, accident 95 south before naman's road pulled all the way out to the shoulder. see right over there, pulled off to the shoulder, blogging all lanes, intermittently, then to the right lane. right now pulled off to the shoulder. not going to cause you too many slow downs in this area right now. it was all lanes block even the couple of right lanes that were blocked even getting gaper delay already this morning. right now 95 looking pretty good. look at this rain coming down, aramingo avenue at somerset street letting you know just how wet it is. and sometimes, that rain coming down that hard can actually give you some visibility issues. make note that far for a loft in you this area waking up this morning, it will be slow ride. so, give yourself couple of extra minutes, you probably will need it this morning. new jersey 42 freeway northbound at creek road, what you are looking at as you ache take it to 295. steady stream. not bad idea to jump out there earlier. probably saying that all morning long.
