12:07 pm
to the values, at best, talking 58 degrees, but it is cinco de mayo, so why not celebrate with fun festive graphic, right? now, some of could you still see shower, some of could you still see little drizzle, only hitting the road for the first time here this afternoon, you could walk out the door and leave the umbrella behind for one day. i would advise a fleece or sweatshirt or jacket, because again, it is cool enough to warrant that here with temperatures still well below their seasonable average. normally at this point of the year, guys, easily into the low 70s, so far cry from that. so it is still dreary, cool for that matter, with steadier rain on the way. namely, for tomorrow, so we will be track that for you coming up in my full forecast, eventually i will have the news of when we officially break, this gloomy pattern, absolutely going to be something to look forward to, that's for sure. guys, we send it back into you. >> thanks so much, katie. solemn day in the country of israel. >> today holocaust remembrance day. >> country came to stands

>> forty-nine year old singer expecting her first baby, with her husband. this news comes after jackson canceled the rest of her unbreakable tore last month. source tells e news, jackson is in her second try messier of pregnancy, she and her husband working with a fertility specialist. >> congratulations to her.
12:19 pm
>> wow, good for her. and another jackson kid. >> but not good for us. keep out looking out the window. i know you don't make the weather, you just are the bearer of bad news. >> i'm the one that has to bring down the party. i do promise that there is some sundown the road here. eventually. >> what's basically happening, it just keeps ongoing, we're still stuck with this very same pattern, where, you basically have the jet stream dip far enough south it keeps sending additional systems our way, that's where this is all coming from, and in addition to that we also have more on shore wind flow as of late, keeping clouds in place, all of that. so, you know there is has been very interesting beginning to the month of may, we start things off by looking at couple of statistics when it comes to some of the wet weather that's currently or already falling four of the five last day s, and already may fifth, inch and quarter worth of rainfall, now, we are specking additional rain tomorrow, and won't be shocked
12:20 pm
if we make the five out of five days today, we are still dealing with enough moisture in the atmosphere it could lead to at least little bit of fine drizzle out there. so we need the rain. but in this long stretch of time, okay, i think a lot of just had enough. that said we can't really get any respit just yet. here is the latest storm system you see how it is rotating around the portions of central appalachians, basically going to rotate through our area, come tomorrow, and bring with it pretty steady rain as it draws more moisture in from the open waters of the atlantic. so system one, that's at least retreating. but now you have got this other guy starting to move in. that means it is very slow, slow pattern, to improve here, with time. tomorrow, dodging periods of rain, i would say shall specially first half of the day, so even into the early afternoon, we still can be dealing with some rainfall, track in a in a second. lingering showers even then saturday, off and on, somewhat any time. then there is another front that tries to come in on sunday. so, while we will see improvement, at least this weekend, it is still
12:21 pm
transition mode as we break out of the worse of the gloom and the gray skies, and end up with skies starting to clear for little sunshine. all the way to tomorrow morning, now, future weather is taking this little later than it originally had, i would say, generally speaking, expect tomorrow morning, that there will be some rain out there, but moving in from southeast to northwest. further inland, further north and west, you reside, the later will get to you. regardless look at this, heavy rain will push in, again, little suspect on the timing on this regardless rain on the way, you will want the umbrella tomorrow, and if this does pan out, you know, you will be dealing with off and on showers even into the early evening, there goes saturday, residual showers continue. another little mention here, we've got coastal flood advisory takes effect again tonight. basically just because of the new moon, and the fact we've got higher than average highs, got to watch out for, that that said, at least visibility not quite as it has been lately, gray, gloomy, visibility okay. we look ahead to the eyewitness weather seven day, where things do finally start to get better. i would say, monday, is actually going to be the
12:22 pm
nicest of the next five days at least when we finally just guarantee you dry day. in time for mothers day? okay, start off i think with couple of showers out there in the morning, which isn't the best news for race for the cure, but not talking wash out guys. although we should eventually see some sun breaks through as the day goes on, so only going to get better from here, i promise. >> well, special celebration is underway at camden's adventure aquarium. topper the aquarium newest african penguin chick turns six weeks old. and today we learned the baby's gender. topper is a girl. >> awe. >> when pen wins are born they look identical and their gender can only be determined by a dna test. learn something new every day. show how it mark the special occasion later tonight on "eyewitness news". >> we all learned that today, right? so weird. >> interesting phenomenon. >> news and science. all in one. we'll be

>> good news for me, we all get another chance to become a multi-millionaire. there was no powerball winner again last night. >> whew. here are the numbers from last night's drawing in case you got a couple right for a few dollars. the jack not now jumps to 415 million for the next drawing on saturday, that's a lot of cash, but you guys, you know what? that's still far cry from the $1.6 billion prize that was shared by three winners back in january. because that was actually the largest ever jackpot brought
12:26 pm
in the entire world. >> that was amazing. >> yes, can we buy this forecast? >> wouldn't that be nice? i think we would all pay for that. yes, been so dreary, but i do come bearing the better weather news eventually it will brighten up out there for us, give it couple of days, tomorrow looks somewhat soggy, have the umbrella then start to gradually transition out of this gray, gloomy wetter. >> we trust, we trust you. >> it will get better with time. >> appreciate t that's "eyewitness news" at noon. i'm jim donovan. >> i'm brooke thomasment for katie all of us here, thanks for watching. >> "eyewitness news" continues at 5:00 and we're always on line for you at cbsphilly.com. the young and the restless is next.
