lion road, one outer lane is block. doesn't sound like a big deal right now but it can become a big deal here on the boulevard if it doesn't get moved out of the the way. make note it is out there heading out in that direction. construction here repaving on kelly drive both directions between art museum and brewery hill drive, one lane is opened right here in both directions. we do have a traffic light malfunction in horsham, easton road at horsham road another thing, that is not a big deal but could be later on, brooke, back over to you. >> thanks, meisha. new this morning search for an escaped prisoner in west philadelphia. >> authorities tell "eyewitness news" that the the suspect was in custody for dui when he took off from penn presbyterian hospital around midnight. officers are searching the surrounding areas and investigators say suspect has been arrested before and officers are parked outside of his most recent address. also new this morning, a crumbled pile of metal from a nasty wreck at corner of bridge and mid veil avenues in east falls. two people were hurt when the car rolled over ape crashed

into at least two other cars shortly after 1:00 a.m. police say a fight broke out near the scene but there is no word on an arrest or charges at this time. in another bad crash in north philadelphia, this one involving a taxi and a car. both cars are pretty banged up after the collision of intersection of 13th and girard. we are told two people were taken to the hospital and they are both in stable condition. well to day marks the solemn anniversary, one years ago an amtrak train crashed into philadelphia, killing eight people and injuring hundreds more. now one year later we're hearing from one of the survivors on how this crash changed his life. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao is live at city hall where survivors will gather later today, good morning, jan. >> reporter: and jim, good morning. the that is right, vigil is planned here at city hall for right around noon to remember what happened one year ago, as you mentioned eight people were killed and more than 200 people were injured when amtrak train 188 jumped the tracks at frankford junction.

now today many questions remain as survivors continue to heel physically and emotionally. may 12th, 2015. philadelphia's frankford curve, the sight of one of the worst train crashes in u.s. history. >> it doesn't feel like a year but feels like it was yesterday. >> reporter: patrick murphy was on amtrak train 188, he tried not to think about the crash that killed eight and injured 200 but these images he snapped from inside wrecked cars are hard to forget. >> there was a lot of blood, a lot of screams and did what any solder, i would do i got up to try to help other people. >> reporter: murphy a former congressman and captain in the united states army is acting secretary of the army. he was on his way to the trenton stop one year ago when train derailed and his training kicked in. >> people on my left and right, they were knock unconscious, bleeding, hurt, so i had to get them up and out of that train. we didn't know what was going on. i climb up, knocked out window

and help those people out and stayed back with the wounded. >> reporter: he took real heroes were first responders. >> the philadelphia fire fighters and police officers were there within moments, climbing through windows. >> reporter: investigators say train leaped the tracks traveling 106 miles an hour and that is more than 50 miles per hour faster then a curve's speed limit and engineer brandon bostian's role is still unclear, investigators from the national transportation safety board have ruled out signal, track and train problems, the investigation continues. meantime amtrak is now installed positive train control, an automatic braking system on all of its rail in the northeast corridor. experts have said that the technology would have saved lives and prevented the derailment. >> i don't know how blessed i am to be able to go home later that morning to be with my wife and two kids and to kiss them and tell them i love them. i will be eternally grateful for that. back to the investigation and that engineer. ntsb investigators say there

is no indication that bostian was using his cell phone at the time of the crash and toxicology results found no drugs or alcohol in his system. the final ntsb results of the investigation will be released next tuesday, in the meantime dozens of victim families are going go through the court system right new suing amtrak for what happened one year ago. reporting live from city hall, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". brooke and jim, back to you. >> thanks, jan. philadelphia police are trying to track down a driver who hit a bike rider and then took off. chopper three was flying over the scene at 33rd and powellton in west philadelphia last night. police tell us that a 27 year-old man was riding his bike on 33rd street when a man hit him and threw him off his bike. the driver stopped, looked at the victim and then drove away. police are looking for an older model red minivan, bicyclist suffered minor injuries. in other news donald trump heads to washington to try to yawn file the republican party. presumptive g.o.p. nominee

forgettable but federal prosecutors alleged what was happening inside was far from the normal. doctor alan somers with two other doctors, allegedly ran a prescription pill mill, racking up five million-dollar in an illegal cash business. court documents reveal that the defendants sold drugs to thousands of customers a month. >> instead of helping people, they are basically contributing to the drug abuse crisis in our culture. they are distributing drugs to drug users, people who are addicted to drugs. >> reporter: we caught up with 78 year-old somers at the his ambler home after initially agreeing to tell us his side of the story. he eventually declined but doctor somers has appeared on you tube explaining how he would help people. also charged in the indictment, doctor kahn of villanova and doctor porschea of ridley park. a woman who answered the dog at doctor parsha's home told us he was in new york. prosecutors described an

elaborate scheme, saying that doctor somers and his co-defendants were allegedly doing ten times the amount of business that their licenses allowed. claiming they were dealing to drug dealers and drug a dick as far a way as cape may new jersey. prosecutors alleged these doctors were harming the very people they were meant to help claiming that they also provided mental and mental health screenings. >> terrible but some people, get the opportunity to make five million-dollar, you know, five million-dollar, they will sell them. >> reporter: court record show doctor somers lost his license to practice after the dea served a search warrant at his south philadelphia clinic back in 2014. meantime only one doctor of the three, still has a license left to practice. meantime each now faces several charges including distribution, health care fraud and money lawnering. all three are expect to surround toward federal authorities next week. in the sat center, natasha brown, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". now for a look at newspaper headlines from

our next cold front crosses through. we were talking about the storms across st. louis. south east of st. louis, very heavy rain and some thunderstorms erupting that way, right on basically where the ohio river meets mississippi. this will be the cold front that crosses through our area, although it is not appearing as they it will be a severe weather threat for us. we can expect more so is it will end up here, with potential maybe for showers and thunderstorms. it will get to be a foggy stretch. since may 1st we have had 2.54 . that is a lot have rain in a short amount of time and only one day this month has been actually dry. now looking at our pattern here, moving forward once this cold front and secondary front moves through, we will end up with much cooler era moving into our region. the jet stream will dip off to the south and that will allow cooler air to move in from canada with it again, two separate front that reenforced the chill for us. in the meantime, today is a good day, we will have some clouds and early this morning
