and one year later, the pain is still fresh for the victims of the amtrak derailment in philadelphia. and tonight we hear from a father who lost his daughter in that crash. good evening, omega's dean. >> i'm ukee washington. hundreds gathered for a vigil tonight at the site of the crash in port richmond. our david spunt was there as the victims were honored. david? >> reporter: ukee a very difficult night for these victims and families of the victims some of the the actual victims showed up this bridge behind me goes over the track the actual accident sight just a few hundred feet behind me. tonight, though, was to remember those victims. ♪ >> reporter: richard fenn more and his wife cynthia walked quite toll place wreath down in his daughter's laura's memory. >> it's not a lot to say except she was wonderful daughter. she was just a delight. >> reporter: 47-year-old laura was one of eight who died on the train. 200 were injured. first responders and those who witnessed the crash came out to

pay respects just a few hundred feet from the crash site. >> we as community have found that the act of coming together to remember our fallen is often a healing experience. >> reporter: train 188 was traveling from philadelphia to new york and just moments after leaving 30th street station several cars derailed. a chaotic mass casualty scene was underway through most of the night. >> we in philadelphia police, fire, ems and many others got to meet you on what was most likely the worst night of your lives. >> reporter: the train's engineer brandon bostian has not said anything publicly since the crash. data from the national transportation safety board indicates the train was speeding at 106 miles an hour more than twice the posted speed limit in that area. the last recorded speed 102 miles an hour. ♪ >> reporter: but this night was to remember the victims and thank all first responders. richard fenn more says they are the real heroes. and he's grateful for

tonight. this is cell phone video of the smoke and flames on the 400 block of springfield road just before 7:00 o'clock. it took crews a little more than an hour to get those flames under control. no one was hurt. but several vehicles were damaged. the cause of that fire has yet to be determine. caught on camera, a very close call for a police officer in linwood, atlantic county. >> whoa! >> that's video from the officer's body camera. while stopping to helping a disable vehicle, a vehicle traveling north took off the door of the police cruiser nearly hitting the officer. but saving him from serious injury. police are searching for a silver or gray nissan altima or similar type of vehicle. if you have any information, contact linwood police. there will be no charges filed against four wilmington police officers in involved in the deadly shooting of a man who relied on the use of a wheelchair. a 31 page department of justice report concludes the officers were justified in shooting jeremy mcdole last september

because they believed deadly force was necessary to protect themselves. cell phone video showed mcdole carrying a gun and reaching toward his waist. when police opened fire. however, that report also conclude the officers were not properly prepared for that situation, and even said one officer exhibited quote extraordinarily poor police work and should not be a loud to carry a gun in public. berks county judge is rush to the hospital moments before he was to be arraigned on criminal charges. paramedic responded to district judge timothy dougherty's office in west reading today. he was in transported to reading hospital. no word on his condition tonig tonight. he was about to be arraigned on charges he stole more than $100,000 from the courts and the why oh miss sin sing volunteer fire department where he was treasure. >> donald trump took steps to unify the gop during a meeting with key republican leaders today. the presumptive republican nominee and house speaker paul ryan pledged to work together

for the sake of their party and to beat the democrats in november. trump tweeted he had a great day in d.c. and things are quote working out really well. but ryan says, he's still not ready to endorse trump. >> on the dem rat cat tick side frontrunner hillary clinton met with 19 hiv aids active visits in new york city today. they represent a coalition of more than 70 organizations that have asked the presidential candidates for their help with the continuing health crisis. clinton says u.s. must continue to lead the way in finding a cure for hiv aids. clip to's rival bernie sanders campaigned in south dakota tonight all he's behind in the delegate count, sanders says he's hoping for a couldn't testified democratic national convention right here in philadelphia. earlier, sanders took some time to tour mount rush more south dakota primary voting takes place on june 7th along with the state of new jersey. at the national constitution center today officials unveiled the tails about the non-partisan political fest coinciding with

fog mixes out and does give way to little bit more sunshine. 62 degrees there in kutztown right now. storm scan3 shows clear conditions at the moment. but notice there are a few sprinkles trying to pop up off to our west and our front is still well back to the west it will get here tomorrow during the midday hours. showers here over portions of west virginia and virginia could get in tomorrow morning. so really can't rule out a shower at any time but the extra front is way back here and then there's a secondary boundary that will swing through on saturday. that's what's really going to usher in the cool air and that one has better chance of produ producing a few locally strong thunderstorms. in the meantime temperatures 64 in philadelphia. it's still 68 right now in allentown. very mild night. 62 degrees in lancaster. again we got to 76 today so we had the dip in the mercury tuesday. that was our chilly day with clouds, wednesday yesterday we got to 66 and today all the way up to 76 it was also only our second dry day so far this month. today and of course on monday we've had two and a half plus inches of rain so far this

month. and we'll be adding to that total tomorrow. here's what it looks like. tomorrow midday between about noon and 4:00 o'clock that's when showers and possibly isolated thunderstorm crosses through the area. 6:00 p.m. we start to see it clear out that's good news. then we start saturday on a really nice note. sunshine when you wake up. right through the midday hours. its it looks good around four or 5:00 o'clock that's when another round of showers and storms moves through. so if you're trying to get outside through the weekend, here are your best bets. friday evening after 6:00 o'clock. saturday morning into the early afternoon until about two or three. and then any time on sunday but you got to dress warmly on sunday it's going to be much, much cooler. tonight mostly cloudy with a shower late against again watch for that midday rain and thunderstorm tomorrow. saturday looks nice until the afternoon and then a few scattered thunderstorms. it's much cooler sunday and monday only in the low 60s. and windy. it will feel very chilly out there sunday definitely make sure you dress in layers if you do outside but at least it's rain free. >> it's been noted. >> there it is.
