>> we can't seem to catch a break. we saw really nice weather yesterday already we're seeing that forecast go doll downhill here. let's walk you through what's going on. basically what's happening there's two separate frontal boundaries one is crossing today. the second is crossing tomorrow. we do clear out then by the second last weekend but beyond that point more chances for wet weather. so let me just get you through, you know the rest of today. we'll sort of back it up and take look what's going on. let's start it off by takin takt to camera shot if we can. show you skycam3 shot around the moravanian college campus in both will he hem in northampton county beautiful for you but obviously somewhat gloomy here it look a little damp out there, too. and right on queue as we go next to storm scan3 the showers have moved in. at the moment we don't see any sign of doppler indications of any kind of lightning which is great. it's mainly just showers here. i won't be shocked in there's a rumble of thunder but it looks like that will be few and far between. mid 60s at the all right pore. it's mild it's actually pretty muggy out too, fair of fives up at mount pocono right now.

so the rest of the day you're talking again some showers it likes like things start to clear out by this afternoon but then tomorrow even though we start off innocently enough with sun more showers, more thunderstorms schedule to cross through the area. and by sunday, you'll notice a big chill that settles in here in the delaware valley. so coming up a bit later in the show we're going to time thing out give you the windows of opportunity we promised if you do outdoor plans. you can schedule around these storms you can just got to know what the times are i'll let you know. guys back to you. >> thanks katie. developing now a black bear is on the loose in fairmount park. friends of the wissahickon shared these photos of the bear with "eyewitness news". the bear was last seen in the banks of wissahickon creek in the area of around valley green road and forbidden drive. chopper three over fairmount park as police search for the bear. officials are asking people in the park with dogs to keep their animals on leash. >> um-hmm. the largest collegiate rogue competition in the united states is going on right now on the schuylkill river.

walt hunter is live along kelly drive where hundreds of athletes are going with the flow. wall, are you having fun? >> reporter: hey, row, row, row your boat it's the dad vail, it's philadelphia the 78th dad vail. hundreds of schools, thousands athletes take look here. it is a busy scene along the kelly drive along the schuylkill river right now. early this morning they were out on the river take look at video we shot just a little bit earlier. they were out rowing. they were out racing. it's nice weather so far. and of course, in addition to the rowing the racing and the cheering there's also a lot of eating going on and socializing as families and crews from all over the country gather here for what is really the largest collegiate regatta in the entire country. and as much fun as this is today the mayor was here. he had even better news that in the future the dad vails will be even more fun. >> happy to celebrate this event happy to commit to keeping it in philadelphia forever and from

meet new jersey's newest millionaires. millionaires. s lucky powerball jackpot winners coming for. news conference set for 3:00 this afternoon at new jersey lottery headquarters in lawrence little. eight people will split the $429.6 million jackpot. it's the largest single winning ticket ever sold in the garden state. police are searching for the armed men who terrorized a family northeast philadelphia earlier this morning. all right j.jan carrabeo shows us what happened when the intruders parched in and it wasn't the home they were a frightening night for a family of three. tied up and robbed inside the their own home in the somerton section of northeast philadelphia and now that family says the ordeal was a terrifying case of mistaken identity. from what the neighbors told me three people who broke into the house said we think we have the wrong house. >> police say the chaos erupted here on the 14,000 block of faraday street after 1:00 a.m. on friday.

a couple in their 60s and their 37-year-old son were all asleep in second floor bedrooms when suddenly three masked men broke in through a back door and started making demands. >> where is the money? family was saying they don't have any money in the house. >> reporter: police say at least one of the suspects was holding a gun. they sipe tied the couple and roo strained the 37-year-old manses behinds back his way shirt. the man ransack the house but only got away with cash in the son's wallet. >> we don't know why this particular house was targeted. this is normally a really quiet neighborhood. >> reporter: neighbors spent time checking on the family this morning. victims were too shaken up to speak on camera. but tell "eyewitness news" they've lived on far a day for nearly 40 years and have never had a problem until now. they hadn't even felt the need to turn on their alarm last night especially since at least half dozen of their neighbors are cops. fortunately, no one was injured but the entire neighborhood is now on edge. makes you nervous for the

kids. we have a lot of young kids. they come home from school. >> make sure when you get home you lock your doors. to not leave them open. >> reporter: northeast detectives is now investigating. they found a church nearby that has several surveillance camer cameras. a number of these homes have surveillance cameras, too. detectives are hoping to find some valuable video. in somerton, jan carrabeo, cbs3 "eyewitness news". thanks a lot, jan no injuries but plenty of damage after a fire in former mattress fact four to bridesburg. the fire swept through the building on the 2200 block of fraley street around 8:30 this morning. firefighters had the situation under control quickly. the cause is under investigati investigation. in other news today memorial service is set for next friday for former temple president peter liacouras. he served as the university president from 1982 to 2000 sa 2000 sand. he was also dean of the law school for 10 years and law professor. the university's famous liacouras center is named that his honor. he died yesterday after a long illness.

welcome back. here's something you don't want to see before your flight out of town. rows and rows of luggage just sitting outside in a parking lot and not on the plane. this happened thousands of passengers at phoenix sky harbor airport yesterday. a computer problem kept tsa workers from being able to screen checked luggage. >> those bags are being held. they will be transported by ground to other nearby airports and screened and then they'll be flown to their destinations so they will eventually arrive at the destinations but not with the passengers. >> so what's the point? it's unclear what cough the glitch. but the tsa says the problem has been fixed. public schools nationwide are being pulled into the controversy over transgender rights. the white house is telling those schools they must allow students to use whichever bathroom is consistent with their yesterday identity. and as correspondence reports schools must comply or risk losing federal funding. >> reporter: every public school in the country received this letter this morning from the department of education and

justice. it offers guidance for how transgender students should be treated especially with regard to bathroom and locker room access and housing. the guidelines dictate that transgender students are not to be discriminated against and should be treated consistent with their gender identity even if it differs from school records. the director directive comes days after the obama administration ordered north carolina to repeal its law requiring people to use bathro bathrooms corresponding to the gender on their birth certificates. >> this action is about a great deal more than bathrooms. >> reporter: lieutenant governor of tech text says he will not enforce the guidelines. >> the president does not know the lines he crossed this time. when you take on mom and dad in their homes, the president threatens their children, he's made huge mistake. >> reporter: the obama administration letter cites title nine and warns non non-compliance could cost schools billions. the guidelines say as a

look at that first front first of two that's moving through as we speak. again the timing is right on schedule. this likely lingers for the next conduct of hours i would say about five maybe as late as 6:00 o'clock at the absolute latest. this is pushing out to sea. we catch break in between then front number two comes along. this one got some legs on it it's moving pretty quickly it was actually pinned up own the dakotas actually sips we were on the hour this morning and now it's moving our way. so that will arrive tomorrow afternoon and bring a fresh round of showers and storms. so when do you want to get outside? i would say after 6:00 o'clock tonight you'll see things dry out. it will still be a little damp no rain will be falling from the sky at that point. tomorrow morning right through the early afternoon looks pretty good. in fact you're likely to start off with more sun than anything tomorrow. but it's deceptive because eventual this next front comes along. i'd say between the hours of maybe three, 7:00 o'clock that window is when we're likely to see the worst of any storms and they could be loblely strong storms by the way any time sunday is good but dress warmly because we will see temperatures

take a pretty solid hit. here's where we stan right now. upper mid 60s in most locations a little cooler by comparison in the mountains we've had lot of clouds. tomorrow for the dad vail regatta start off with some sun. climb all the way to the mid 70's but then again three to 7:00 o'clock or so is about the window we'll see some shares showers and storms rumble in again. they will be scattered. but they could be locally strong since we'll likely have a lot more sun to work with to get some of that instability going. look at the hit we take behind this. 61 degrees on sunday. a windy day as well and going to at least see the sun return just have your sweatshirt ready if you've on the to get in after plans. monday all be a little little cool still looks pretty good with high of 64 and sunshine. jim, send it over to you. i was rush music, dancing food and fun. thousands will pack the cherokee festival grounds in bensalem for what has become an irish tradition. the philadelphia fla irish festival. joining me to tell us all about organizers cj mills and frank daily. you may know them from their

hugely popular band jamison keltic rock. cj this really has grown over the past two years. when did it start? >> it started four years ago, and it's exciting. i mean this year we have a lot more activities for the children. it's very family friendly. we have dancing, we have vendors, we have 15 bands, fun time. >> it's really embracing all about our irish heritage, isn't it? >> every part of it. um-hmm. >> frank, what can people specifically expect? what are we talking about as far as mus music. >> sure 15 bands will be spread out on three different stages throughout the festival. so they'll be a non-stop music element depending oh and where you are in the festival. we also have seven irish dance schools for the first time who will be showcasing in between those group groups on the stage. we sanked hoarier dance competition this is actually the fourth year we're doing that as well part of the fla. and we've expanded our vendors this year as well kid zone. 30 vendors and both irish and american fare. >> okay. how many people showed up last year? >> about 3,000. little bit under. >> hopefully we beat that am
