this be time of the year but a big change, from yesterday, we were in the mid 70's, got the rain, it was from a strong cold front. we are bringing temperatures back down to more like early, april standard, and compared to this time yesterday we are 8 degrees cold inner philadelphia a. seven in mount pocono. seven in wilmington delaware. actual numbers upper 40's to around 50 degrees, this hour, and suburbs, kind of the same deal, mid 40's in quakertown, and pottstown and willow grove. the reason for the temperature is the wind kicked up a little bit, sustained ten to 15 miles an hour out of the west. that mixes up the air. you don't get cold spots like we see on a calm morning. storm scan three quiet for the most part over the delaware valley but to the north and west, over central pennsylvania we had some rain and snow showers, and, we could get a sprinkle will in here later this afternoon. decent amount of sunshine this morning. the included do build up later today. high temperature though only 61 degrees for philadelphia, lower 60's at the shore, little more sunshine up there and up in the poconos highs

struggle to make it in the lower 50's this afternoon, in fact, tonight will be even colder, with the clear skies, a freeze watch will go into effect for the mountains and even i think the suburbs will be waking up with temperatures in the 30's. we will let you know when we will return to near normal will with our highs. show thaw seven day forecast in a few minutes. >> normal would be nice. >> i agree. >> justin, thank you. >> new this morning a bucks county deadly fire inside the lincoln motel is under investigation. flames broke out around 2:00 a.m. in the 2200 block of old lincoln highway in bensalem. the it took fire fighters 30 minutes to get the fire under control but once the smoke cleared, fire fighters found one person inside the room dead. now, no details on their identity at this time. fire officials called it suspicious and arson investigators are on the scene. now president obama is the first sitting president to deliver the commencement speech at rutgers university today. cherri gregg from our sister station kyw 1060 is live in camden where graduating

students will be boarding trains, heading to the ceremony in new brunswick, good morning, cherri. >> reporter: good morning. it is quiet here but just a few moments ago there was buzz? why? because 200 rutgers camden graduates boarded a train, especially for them, on to trenton that will take them to new brunswick to see, get to president obama as 12:30. president obama will speak for the first time during a commencement at rutgers university. they lobbied for a couple years to get this to happen and it was a huge excitement for the students that we spoke to. one young man who is graduating from the rutgers camden law school told me it is full circle when he went into the university, president obama had just been inaugurated and now he is graduating from law school. lets take a listen. >> it was exciting, but i'm exited to see him. >> reporter: what do you think he will say.

>> well, i think he is trying to unify the student body. there is a face of change, if they want change, to go out and vote, and parities pate. >> reporter: you can tell there is excitement, folks did not sleep and they began gathering here right here near the river line train stops before 6:00 o'clock this morning. they left, right before 6:30 and headed down to new brunswick. 350 rutgers camden students all together will join the other students from across rutgers university campus, for 12:30 commencement speech. this is the 23rd commencement speech that president obama will be making, last week he spoke at howard, he will also close it the out for his 24th and final speech when he speaks to the air force academy lots of excitement, for those rutgers university camden students will be graduating wednesday and thursday, of this week, live from camden, cherri gregg for kyw news radio for cbs-3

significantly better than hillary clinton in the race against donald trump. >> donald trump should be given a ton of credit for advancing and widening the playing field. what we want to make sure going forward is we are doing nothing but adding voters to the republican party column and not doing anything to subtract voters going forward. >> reporter: in i a new web ad hillary clinton focuses on trump's years of reluctance to release his tax returns. in other news this morning, two people were shot overnight in hunting park. police responded to reports of the shots fired in the 3800 block have of north 13th street around midnight. two men with gunshot wound were taken to the hospital, no details on their condition or any arrest at this time. there is an arrest in the shooting that critically wounded a kensington women. gunman shot the 24 year-old woman five times, in the 700 block of willard street saturday have afternoon there is in word on what led to that shooting. grief counselors will be at bridgeton high school

tomorrow where two students were killed and two others were injured in the crash after celebrating prom. this is the second tragedy to strike this community in just weeks. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do has the story. >> my best friend i lost,. >> reporter: two young beautiful lives cut tragically short, on a night so many teens, look forward to, all year. >> seventeen year-old diasa sulton and mikayla mostly and two friends were on their way back after the bridgeton high school prom. state police say around 3:45 a.m. sulton was heading westbound on route 49 toward bridgeton when her pt cruiser swerved in the eastbound lanes and struck a street. sulton and mostly were kill. the medics rushed the two other passengers to the hospital. >> nobody needs to experience this pain. this pain is like, it is physically hurting us. nobody should ever feel this

"eyewitness news" reporter alexandria half hoff has a story of one hero who received a special award. >> ♪ >> basically marine core and then work and then find a job get married and everything but then my life was changed forever. >> reporter: may seventh, 2007, ronnie portis suffered burns to 90 percent of his body while serving in iraq. in that same incident he lost two friends. he is 29 years old. by land and air the eighth annual walk for the wounded in media raised funds and awareness. in 2 miles this walk is a symbol of solidarity for very long journey that these wounded heroes have made. this year our own ukee washington helped present a special award given out to officer jesse hartnett and his family. >> for his service to our country and continued service

add to the list for philadelphia now we're talking about temperatures in the afternoon running ten to 15 degrees below average for the next couple of days, so we will be sitting in the cooler air mass. this is typical for really early april because we should be in the mid 70's for this time of the year. we had that yesterday. we had a nice little run there of 07-degree temperatures but those are gone, back in the 60's, today, tomorrow and pretty much through the first half have of the upcoming workweek. love this time of the year. daylight last later in the evening and early in the morning at 4:30 you can see skies brighten up, a little bit. sunset coming in at 8:09 and we are setting at 8:23. june 20th when summer arrives that is most amount we will have have. sunsets at 8:33. we are gaining two minutes of daylight each day. that number starts to go down as we head toward summer solstice. upper 40's for reading and allentown. forty-nine in philadelphia mid 30's for mount pocono. we have cold air in the upper midwest.

thirty-five in minneapolis. thirty-six in chicago. that cold air still has to filter through the northeast. it will take a couple days. rain and even snow showers breaking out in central pennsylvania it is possible we will get a spring until here later this afternoon. very isolated. do not cancel any plans you have outdoors. other than that sunshine mixed with clouds. you can see clouds building later today, mostly staying to the west across the mountains of pennsylvania, and then high pressure starts to build back in tomorrow, and this keeps us dry. so monies good, still a cool start to the morning but the afternoon start to rebound to the mid 60's, and then once that area of high pressure moves off shore that allows the next storm to move in which is wrapped weather pattern here every couple days storm system moves in, more showers for tuesday in the afternoon lingering into wednesday. today though much cooler, upper 50's to lower 60's, that is it, at best. tonight, 30's or 40's for low temperatures. even colder tomorrow morning, and we are heading back to work and school. monday's high good rebound

heading to trenton that would then head on to new brunswick where president obama is scheduled to speak at 12:30 today. you can see those students, lots happening, they had doughnuts, coffee, giggling uncontrollably. it was like the first day of school for many of them. they got here well before 6:00 o board that train. the students that i spoke to say that it is coming full circle, many of them, you know, were young when president obama was inaugurated and now they get to hear him at this historic speech at their university. >> i'm excited. i'm a first generation college student. aim he so excited in my graduation the president will be here. it is amazing. >> i worked on his campaign in 2012 and pretty excited to go up there and see him speak and hear what he has to say. >> reporter: total of 350 rutgers camden students are heading up there to new brunswick to the university's main campus. they will join will folks from

here's current pattern over next few you days, high pressure over western u.s., a little ridge in the jet stream that is where warmth end and where we have to get the warm temperatures. when that happens we will get cool stuff to the east, that is what we are dealing with for next few days, get used to chilly mornings and still cool afternoon as we head through middle of the week. then still a couple of storms to deal with bringing in some rain chances. the check out that flow in the at light image flow around that low pressure system bringing that colder air out of canada rain and snow showers as far south as western pennsylvania, that is a sprinkle or two is possible later this afternoon around delaware valley but most areas should be dry. maybe throw on that sweat shirt, long sleeve shirt heading to the phillies game this afternoon. the partly sunny at 1:35. game time temperature at the 58 degrees. talk about those rain chances to day, just to have throw in a 20 percent chance for sprinkle or two in some locations. tomorrow is dry, high pressure over us keeps our skies sunny and then 50 percent chance for more showers on tuesday and wednesday, so the wet pattern,

just continues, but at least it will not be as dreary as it has been the past couple weeks. clouds do develop this afternoon with that cold pocket aloft. the here's spotty shower to try to break out ovulater this afternoon in the evening hours, and they die down once we lose heating from the sun, a clear, cold night tonight, low 40's around the city, 30's in the suburbs and then nothing but sunshine on tap for your monday, so lets talk about those temperatures, look at this, we will struggle to get to 60 degrees this model we are not even showing 60-degree temperatures. this is typical for late march, early april and then tonight it is cold, suburbs down to the 30's north and west and interior south jersey, and then tomorrow we are backup in the mid 60es a, still almost 10 degrees below average. breezy and cool today. 61 degrees for philadelphia, colder north and west. chilly tonight 42 for the city, still have to crank up that heat, and nighttime and then here's that extended forecast mid 60's on monday with some sun, clouds are back with showers on tuesday, still some shower chances on
