high pressure currently in place, lows thus far this morning pretty brutal for mid may. we've been below freezing now at mount pocono, millville check in at 35 at one point this morning, and allentown we hit 37. at philadelphia international airport, the lowest that we hit was 43, so 3 degrees shy of actually tying the record, at this point to up 45. we don't think we'll make it record territory here, but it is a cold start. when below freezing even still at mount pocono, only in the 30's at this hour, in reading and allentown and all the way back to lancaster, so because of the chill in the air, even despite that sun, and also bit of a breeze out, there we gave you solid b for the school day forecast, you want the sunglasses today also probably want heavier coat as you hit the road this morning. meisha, over to you. >> all right, we can take a b. thanks, you're such a nice teacher. good morning, happy monday. this is where we have the accident involving two tanker trucks and involving injuries. fifty-nine south at washington avenue, blocking two lanes right now, because of that, we are starting to see some significant backups.

courthouse. jan? >> reporter: brooke, jim, good morning, this is going to be a very closely watched political corruption trial here in philadelphia. us representative chaka fattah's trial scheduled to start here, in the courthouse behind me right around 10:00 this morning, with opening statements. now, if he convicted, fattah could face decades behind bars. >> veteran pennsylvania congressman, chaka fattah, will step foot in a courtroom today to face charges in his federal corruption trial. the 59 year old is accused of excepting bribes, and misusing campaign funds and federal grants to enrich his family and friends. the indictment alleges fattah took illegal $1 million campaign loan for his failed 2007 mayoral campaign, and misused federal funds to pay it back. fattah has maintained his innocence, speaking with "eyewitness news" on bummer of cakes action and fb unfairly targeted.

old was hit about ten times near moore and south hollywood street around midnight. so far no motive, no arrests, but police are interviewing possible eyewitnesses, and evaluating security tape from nearby businesses. police tell us driver lost control of their car and smashed into several parked cars in south philadelphia. it happened before midnight at ninth and tasker. one person suffered minor injury. "eyewitness news" has learned the driver stayed at the scene, and police do not expect to file charges. >> in bensalem, man under arrest this morning for gruesome murder. police say he killed his girlfriend, and set a bucks county motel on fire. it happened yesterday morning, at the lincoln motel route one, investigators tell us, 46 year old kevin small was upset with his girlfriend, so he threw a cup of gasoline at her while she watts smoking a cigarette. >> he look at the lincoln motel, walk back in the room

with the gas. something transpired in the room where he doused the victim with gasoline and set her on fire. >> forty-six year old melissa bacon smith died in the fire. kevin small faces multiple charges including criminal homicide and arson. >> happening today, grief counselors will be at bridgeton high school to help student deal with the weekend deaths of two classmates, the driver, 17 year oldish a silt on seen on the left and passenger 15 year old mikhail a mostly killed saturday when they crashed into a tree driving home from their prom. two other girls were in the car and were taken to the hospital. one is in critical condition. another in serious condition. it is not clear what caused the driver to lose control of the car. >> also, today, president obama will honor slain philadelphia policeman, robert wilson iii. the president will present wilson's family with the public safety officer medal of valor. the award was created in 2001 to honor first responders for moments of bravery and courage, the 30 year old wilson was killed last march,
