happened in. >> reporter: well, brooke, good morning. police described a frightening course of events here in overbrook. they say that the suspect lights his victim's porch on fire to lure him outside. once he sees his target that suspect confronts his victim, pulled out a gun and then opens fire. philadelphia police, and the fire marshall, they are now investigating a bizarre course of events at this home in overbrook. just after midnight, here on the 5600 block of lebanon avenue, police say a 19 year-old suspect threw some sort of incendiary device on the porch catching a plastic chair on fire. >> preliminarily we believe that this incendiary device was thrown on the front porch in order to get the attention of the residents of the property. >> reporter: as a 19 year-old victim came outside to find out what was happening police say the suspect confronts him with the gun. victim tried to get back inside to safety. >> a at that point the victim and another resident of the property, forced the front door shut, on the shooter, and

the shooter then fired three shots, all three shots went through the front door. >> reporter: teenage victim was shot three times hit in the chest and the stomach, he was taken to presbyterian hospital in critical condition, the suspect, ran away and police are now searching for him, he is men to police and investigators believe he lives close to the shooting scene. police are still searching for that suspect, this morning, they are checking places, he is known to reside, in the meantime here at southwest detectives there are a number of witnesses here being questioned by police, and at this time there is no known motive for this shooting. anyone with any information is asked to call police. reporting live outside southwest detectives this morning, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news", brooke and jim, back inside to you. well, our long, local pro basketball nightmare could be over, at last. >> the sixers are winners, for the first time in a while. our own pat gallen is here to join in the celebration as the sixers hit the jackpot at nba

to be really happy for everybody that endured so much during a very difficult, long period. >> last night i was in the house for sixers draft lottery party at xfinity live, and it was thrown by sixers fans and thousands literally packed the house, door to door, fans from as far as australia showed up and this was their like an explosion, like the roof was blowing off, finally we're number one. the fans went bunkers after seeing lakers get the second pick and sixers win the nba draft lottery. the excitement was intense, and the sixers faithful was loving every minute of it. >> unaudible. >> i'm so pumped. >> everyone says it is such a long three years. now with the number one pick with embiid and all of the

between hillary clinton and bernie sanders in the latest round of primaries. the former secretary of state tweeted claiming victory in the kentucky primary but still with 99 percent of the vote counted, it is too close to call. oregon sanders is clear winner but you clinton now needs just under 100 delegates to claim the democratic nomination. new jersey could put her over the top on june 7th. sanders vowed to continue his campaign up to the democratic convention, in philadelphia, in july. >> i recognize that but we have the possibility of going go to philadelphia with the majority of the pledged delegates. >> donald trump won oregon republican primary and he already won kentucky caucus back in march. trump needs just 77 delegates to clinch nomination. amtrak says it will review the national transportation safety board's findings on last years deadly derailment in frankford. the ntsb officially will release findings yesterday.

the it said amtrak engineer brandon bostian was distract, just before the crash, and they say he was distract by messages on his train radio from a septa engineer. septa train had been just pelted with rocks on a adjoining track. the board concluded bostian lost track of where he was and accelerated to 106 miles an hour not realizing he was heading in the curve where the speed limit was just 50. a temple university professor who was on board the train had that night was watching tuesday, as the board announced its findings. >> am i mad? part of me is mad at amtrak, part of me is resigned that there is something that happened and we have to ensure and survive and move on. >> lawyers for some of the victims are not satisfied with the ntsb report. they say distraction is in not

it looks like hugh hefner has been pulled in the trouble with bill cosby. a mod hole claims bill cosby sexually abused her in 2008 at plate boy mansion has filed a new lawsuit against the comedian and the playboy founder. >> chloe goings claimed hugh hefner should have known or that cosby had drugged and sexually abused woman. goings claims cosby spike her drink at a party at the playboy mansion in 2008 and then assaulted her in the bedroom.

check out this funnel cloud spotted in south east florida yesterday. woman was driving south on i-95 when she said that she saw the funnel cloud appeared to come out of the dry and it just kept getting closer to sky. saint lucy fire department reported a tornado in fort peters. this is a close-up look at the damage there. parts of the roof ripped clean off, and windows smashed out, one woman said that she watched as the store picked up a shed and dropped it right on top of her. amazingly she was in the seriously hurt but she certainly has a lot of clean up to do today. katie, i left the umbrella home because i live on the edge. >> yes, you are very dangerous, there. >> yes, with that they call him jim danger donovan. >> do they, i haven't heard that. >> yeah, that is the new one. >> that is right. >> but you know what jim, i think that was the right move. i don't think you will need the umbrella today. you have wet weather out there but it is a couple of spotty

showers here and there and otherwise just some cloud out there. frankly the radar looks worse then it is here a at home which we will discuss. we will turn our focus to east coast in general where we have had nasty storms going through portions of florida here and bulk is moving out to sea but back here at home we also had our own disturbance pulling away but residual moisture as a shift of the atmosphere and we will end up with perhaps just a spotty shower in a couple of spots. the it does look like it will be worse over our area, the odds are that it will start to fizzle as it continues to push, our way, so, that is why we're in the really worried too much about wet weather out there. lets look at what the overall pattern has up its sleeve. we have a system. left over moisture. but high pressure really will try to move in here and as it does so, a couple of our computer models are trying to pick up there may be wet weather that fires up, off toward say the mountains tomorrow but generally we will call it a partly sunny day with high pressure regaining

control and friday is just looking to be a gem of the day right now as we see that sinking air, skies brighten up, we will have blue skies, sunshine and warmth, as well. so it really looks like a nice day coming up. first pitch forecast, more included then anything here for the phillies, back down in south philadelphia this afternoon. 63 degrees for that first pitch temperatures. not much better than that after afternoon progresses and we are stuck in the cloud. another sweat shirt kind of the day for us but 65 at best is the expected high, and should stay dry, in south philadelphia and every where else by this afternoon. 72 degrees by tomorrow. rebounding toward much more typical temperatures and then we will hit 76 with sunshine on friday. it looks like a great day. meisha, over to you. >> it would be nice to have 70's back, good morning, everybody. happy hump day to you. and 95, south, looking at academy this is what you are looking at right now, i would say in the the 5:00 o'clock hour fairly typical but we have a lot of early risers out there. monday, tuesday very busy. during 6:00 o'clock hour we will see the same thing here. ninety-five south at academy

you're looking all right. i guess we will just take it. boulevard moving in the southbound direction toward schuylkill this is what we are looking the at here once you jump on the schuylkill westbound at city avenue it is looking like this as well. early risers, the ones that we can usually expect, anytime we say typical in the world of traffic that is in the a bad thing. this is where we have construction on 422, westbound, again, this is four to 22 westbound on ramp to route 23, the left lane rather is block but the right lane is block leading up toward this construction, and on 422, a lot going on here, crew is still out there. i will let you know when that moves out of the way. it is still out there for both of you sometime soon. construction as well schuylkill eastbound near blue route right lane is starting to clear out of the way you can see cones pulled off to the right shoulder. hopefully in the next couple minutes that will be completely cleared out of the way, jim and brooke, back over to you. a daring rescue in alaska, police officers and other drivers risked their lives to save a man trapped in his burning suv.
