authorities are showing off a huge amount of drugs, guns and cars, the culmination of the two year investigation into heroin trafficking in kent and sussex counties in delaware. police seized 3-pound of heroin and several raids worth more than a million-dollar on the street. investigators received handguns and cash. in all, three suspects face drug weapons, money laundering, conspiracy and other charges. police seized a total of 23 vehicles worth $250,000. well, there are new calls for u.s. justice department to investigate fatal shooting of a man who relied on the use of the wheelchair by wilmington police officers. cell phone video shows jer mist mcdole carrying a gun and reaching for his waist when police opened fire last september. the state attorney general's office, concluded this that the shooting was justified, because the officers believed their lives were in danger. some local leaders though sent a letter to u.s. attorney general loretta lynch and asked her to reopen the case. >> we believe that there was

with the return of the sunshine temperatures actually rebounded close to normal this afternoon. being outside without a jacket on is giving me life, i'm loving it. we have a few showers to track this evening. lets look the at is what happening to the north, you can see a couple showers through lehigh valley, those are fizzling now, possibly not even going to make it in the city and few swipes of the windshield wipers out and about this evening, you can see steady rain from perkasie, bucks county and northern new jersey and scattered showers over chester county at the moment. not a big deal but still a few sprinkles here tonight and those could linger in the overnight hours and shower as we head into tomorrow but mostly we are dry through the rest of the week and temperatures are on their way up. sixty-eight in philadelphia. fifty-seven in wilmington. sixty-four in trenton. it has been a cool may, 4.4 degrees below average so far but next two days should at least help keep us closer to normal. one great day and then one not so great day coming up in the five day forecast, we will have more on that when i join

you inside. for now, back over to you. demonstrators interrupt a philadelphia city council meet to go protest the so-called proposed soda tax. >> unaudible. >> chanting protesters were led out of city council chambers this morning. political contributions from the soda industry could influence council. industry opposes mayor kenney's plan to evoke a three sent per ounce tax on sugar drinks. money from that tax would help fund education and recreational programs. you may soon be a able to drink alcohol while walking the boardwalk in atlantic city. the city council is expected to vote any minute now on the plan to let anyone 211 or older walk the boardwalk with one alcoholic drink in hand, in a opened plastic container. the goal, to bring more people to the shore resort. if the propose willal passes tonight and one more time, they would have a trial period over the summer to see if it is successful. big dream is coming true for a local athlete.

"eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan tells us he is looking to bring home the gold. >> reporter: it is something joe malloy enjoys as a try athlete he is trying to get better at swimming, running, cycling. >> we're pretty bad at all three so that is why we do triathlon f we are good at one we would just do one. >> reporter: out of three sports and joeys the best. he qualified for the olympics as top try athlete in the u.s. >> it was special, and, i'm still, even now i'm not sure i can put it into word. >> reporter: we caught up with malloy before a light work out at his favorite facilities in manayunk. joe grew up in wildwood crest and was a perennial winner in life guard races. he swam in boston college and turned his attention to triathlon. when he quit a coaching job to turn pro his parents were nervous. >> i said, oh, boy, okay, we

downhill a bit. lets get in to it. we will take you up to bethlehem and see one of the spots picking up a couple showers this evening. you can see it gloom any northampton county and clouds are in place, couple stray showers, moving through at the moment, nothing heavy but definitely still looking light this morning. doom and gloom, shot there in bethlehem but take a look at a the time lapse video here in philadelphia you can see how day cleared out after that gray start to the day. by mid to late afternoon cloud started to break up. we saw more patches of blue skies and that helped temperature warm up a bit into the mid to upper 60's. sixty-five at global leadership academy. you can see a few breaks of blue skies still out there right new but as we check in on storm scan three here are the showers i was mentioning. they are really starting to break apart here. the don't expect to see much of anything in philadelphia the just a a stray sprinkle is possible this evening, otherwise these showers are starting to move out. montgomery county, bucks county right in mercer county seeing a few stray sprinkles at the moment. not a big deal.

rest of this evening for most of us will be pretty quiet. there are a few showers on the the back edge here and with this boundary nearby we cannot rule out a pop up sprinkle tomorrow either. the trendies toward much nicer weather for the remainder of the workweek. here's a look at temperatures. any sunshine today helped us warm up. you can see how cooler it is in the areas that got showers. sixty-two in reading. sixty-five allentown. sixty-eight in philadelphia a that is not far off the average. sixty-seven in millville and cooler 62 down in atlantic city. let's compare and contrast, may of 2015 we had 20 days in the 80's. one day in the 50's, and seven dates with rain. so just may 2016 so far, big goose eggs, zero days in the 80's, six days in the 50's, and then 11 out of 18 days with some rain, but we are into a brief warming trend now and we will use those numbers more, actuallying ago above average by friday, average high is 76 and will be closer to that, maybe a stray sprinkle thomas we said but more sunshine friday. it looks like a beautiful day.

i'm jessica dean. park officials say they euthanized the baby bi son because of tourist actions. correspondent mark straussman explains what happened and outrage that followed. >> reporter: with bi son, park visitors are told to stay at least 25 yards a way, mature bulls can weigh more than a ton and stand 6 feet tall but a 69 year-old canadian tourist thought this bison calf looked cold and apparently abandoned. picked it up and turn it over to park rangers. >> once you have the smell of the humans on that calf you raise the risk that they will not be able to be successfully reunited with their parents. >> reporter: dan wink is park superintendent, he said bison heard later reject the calf and began to approach people in cars and become a traffic has air. >> ultimately that resulted in the destruction of that calf. >> he described it as misplaced concern, is that the nice way have of describing it. >> it is a a nice way of describing it. they were wrong.

on the cbs-3 healthwatch tonight, left side, right side intriguing new study says surviving colon cancer could depend on which side of the body it originates in. >> stephanie stahl is here. >> reporter: just release that had old real estate saying, location, location, location. well, when it comes to colon cancer, the location where it starts could determine how long a patient survives according to this new study released within the hour. after being diagnosed with advanced colon cancer marine combat veteran tim carroll said he was planning his funeral. doctors told him with chemotherapy, he had maybe two years to live. >> being this kind of a fight are you cannot just do it.

>> reporter: six three-year old tumor started on the left side, now new study says metastatic colon cancer patients like tim survive significantly longer then patients with cancer that originates on the right side. >> people who have have left sided tumors, actually had a much better prognosis then those who had a right sided tumor, greater than a year difference in their median survival. >> reporter: researchers say fine goes will likely change the way doctors approach colon rectal cancer treatments. >> the tumor that develop on the right side have different molecular features which lead to worst prognosis? are they caught later because there are certain symptoms thaw developed with a left sided tumor that may cause people to seek medical care sooner. >> reporter: tim has now survived more than seven years. >> i'm a very lucky guy. i have a lot to live for. >> reporter: now tim has had several surgeries and years of chemotherapy and he says he will just keep on fighting. the doctors by the way say that this study also suggests
