♪ grown ups throwing temper tran trumps. more adults are being caught on camera having fits watch doctors say is causing so many to snap. and so many drive past it on daily basis. but what is that strange looking structure along the roosevelt expressway. nicole brewer uncovers the history behind it. >> first 15-year-old home alone when burglars force their way inside. what he did that police say helped them nab the would be thieves. >> good evening, i'm ukee washington. >> hi, i'm jess today dean. berlin new jersey teenager hid in the basement and called nip 11 once he realized what was happening. >> tonight we are hearing that 911 call. "eyewitness news" reporter david superintendent has more on the teen's brave actions. >> 911. what is your emergency? >> berlin police say understandably panicked 15 year old called 911. when he heard strange noises coming from upstairs. >> did you see them come in? >> no, i heard them break the window. >> sew okay. stay on the line with me. where are you at now? >> in my basement.

>> police say james clerk inn injury and alexis diamond broke into the boy's berlin home while his parents were gone. >> you don't hear anything moving around in the basement with you, right? >> no. >> okay. i want to you step out closet just in the basement and just look around. okay? >> okay. >> as a police officer and as a parent i couldn't have been more pleased with how this young man reactioned roar report according to police by the time officers arrived, alexis diamond was sitting inside a car outside of the home. officers rushed april side to bring the 15-year-old to safety. officers say they found james clerk inn, jr., hiding in a closet. both were arrested on the spot. neighbor daniel thorn lives a few doors down and was shocked to hear the news. >> he was probable ale frayed for his life. had knows? but, i feel terrible that something like that is happening inside our neighborhood right here. >> reporter: burglary happened just two days after a jogger was tack at a berlin park. police do not believe the cases are related. >> times are changing, and it's

terrible. >> reporter: both suspects are facing charge charges of burgla, couldn't support see, criminal mischief and obstruction. more charges are pending. david spunt cbs3 i were the nouse. philadelphia double shooting leaves one man in critical condition and another stable. it happened tonight in nicetown. police say the victims were operating a tow truck when the first was shot chest. the second was struck in the shoulder. bullets came at the vehicle from both sides. now police are looking through surveillance video from nearby businesses for any clues. family, friends and classmates are mourning a 17-year-old student hit and killed by a suspect the dui driver. ant what about timbers of burlington city high school student was killed just after midnight sunday while walking on route 130 in burlington city. a sophomore, timbers was already assuming leadership rolls in the junior rotc program at school. he hoped to serve in the military like some of his older cousins. >> this is a tragic accident

that should not have happened. art want was a huge part of all our lives. he meant a lot to us. >> police say the driver ricardo paterson willingboro stayed at the scene after that crash. he was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving and was released. $10,000 is now being offered as a reward for information in the deadl deadly weekend triple shooting in chester. 14-year-old denness powell was kick his cousin was critically injury. a third victim janine shipley still has a bullet lodged in her shoulder. she describes to us what happened. >> i can hear it going pink, pink, pink, oh, my god, i'm going die. bullets coming from everywhere. boom, boom, boom, boom. oh, my god! oh my god. i'm shot already. they're going oh kill me. >> police believe that the three victims caught in the crossfire and the gunmen were aiming for other targets. dennis was student at chester community charter school.

the founder of the school is paying for his funeral. a judge cleared baltimore police officer he had war nero of assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in the death of freddie gray. nero used to live in sewell, gloucester county. the judge concluded that nero played little role in gray's arrest and was not responsible for the failure to buckle him into the police van. gray died in april 2015 after suffering spinal cord injuries in that police van. bill cosby is due in court tomorrow so a judge can decide whether there's enough evidence to proceed to trial with sex assault accusations from 12 years ago. he's trying to have the case thrown out. today the pennsylvania supreme court refused to grant a delay. last year, a ruling upheld charges based on his 2004 encounter with a temple university employee andrea constand. cosby believes he had a deal with former prosecutor preventing him from being charged in the case. tonight south jersey students are upset with a decision to place their

principal on leave and they say it was done without explanation. oak crest high school in mace lanning. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is there tonight. >> reporter: across section of students, parents and teachers came out to oak crest high school to show their support to principal joseph cruz. >> this really touches our heart. to see that the students and the staff and the parents just all around the whole community has come out in support of moo hub. he's a fabulous principal. >> reporter: greater egg harbor regional school district placed him on administrative leave on may fourth without explanation. >> he wanted to be here but if he came then he can have been charged with insubordination. >> reporter: around 75 parents and students attend add regularly scheduled board mee meeting to demand answers but they got. the superintendent declined our quest for an interview. >> we know that he's the principle that cares for our students. so we don't understand why he was let go. why is he on leave.

>> we should like at least have some knowledge or -- why he's not here any more. >> reporter: students and community members described him as dead indicator and involved another administrator. >> he made sure he went to everything if the kids went to. make they dreams comes true. >> his wife says he's heart broken. >> sometimes when you stand for what is right, you stand alone. it's nice to see tonight that he's not alone. >> reporter: they met in executive session for about an hour after that public meeting. no word what came out of that private meeting much students had continue to protest until he's reinstated aspirin. they've already staged a walk out and they have two petitions circulatincirculating with hundf signatures. live in mays landing, inform, trang do, cbs3 "eyewitness new news". power is back on after two underground explosions in philadelphia that center manhole covers flying.

two blasts happened over the weekend. 12 hours apart. one in the 600 block of pine street. the other at 30th and mark. both explosions caused power outages and sent peco crews into act. our greg argos caught up with peco today to get a taste of what the extensive training they receive to get on the ground. apprentices in this class spend the first few weeks in the classroom then off to above ground manhole for more traini training. it replicates real one in almost every respect. >> we try to simulate a real real-time training in a manhole. a few reps inside the manhole simulated as a damaged cable. >> one thing not replicated in training the live forms found in man holes, snakes, spiders, rats and much more. in campaign 2016 new poll he is show hillary clinton large need over donald trump has

evaporated. trump leads in one national poll and he's neck in neck with clinton in another. trump is effectively runnin runn opposed in washington state and will inch closer to secure the republican nomination. clinton continues to compete with senator bernie sanders in the middle of major campaign blitz in california ahead of that state's primary. a group of local doctors joined together today to say the proposed tax on sugary drinks on philadelphia will save lives. they are in favor of mayor kenney's proposal to tax sugary drinks to raids money for universal pre k. they were join the health commissioner who says attacks will bring health benefits. >> sugary drinks are the biggest single contributor to the epidemic diabetes. attacks on sugary drinks make sense to try to reverse that epidemic. >> philadelphians against the grocery tax says the tax would mainly hurt four people. the american beverage

temper tantrums you automatic the think of young children many more adults are being caught on video throwing fits. >> as "eyewitness news" reporter raphael solomon shows us the behavior could be a sign of something much more serious. >> with cameras in more and more places you've seen videos like these. adults losing their cool and throwing temper tantrum. >> ahh! >> it may not just be bad behavior it could be intermittent explosive device or ied. doctors charles altman the chief of psychiatry at chestnut hill hospital. he says the disorder is more than just road rage or anger management issues. but says those with the illness tend to have extreme outbursts multiple times week over a period of time. >> we all react to stresses and frustrations in life but when

someone is out of control they react diss proportion natalie to what's bothering them and it happens again and again. >> reporter: roger heater began exhibiting violent behavior at young as three years old. >> very very calm and then the smallest thing makes you just escalate to the highest rage. >> dr. altman treatment includes cognitive behavior therapy the person learns what think triggers are and how to cope with every day stress. heater says that's what's helping him. >> what i've done is taken years to try to teach myself to become aware of it and now i do have control over it. >> cameras have made the images of adult temperature tantrums common. experts say you don't actually have to look online and you don't have to look very far to see it first hasn't. >> when you think about room of 20 people, someone in that room is suffering from this diss or but it's probably not recogniz recognized. >> reporter: doctor at man tells me those struggling are

we're talk 80s to finish out the week and complain about it being too hot. you can never get it just right. let's take look what's happening route outside. take you to out to live loot at center city philadelphia. clear skies at the moment. cleared out pretty nicely after the storms that came through earlier. there are still a few scattered showers mainly south and east of the city right now that take look how the day panned out on our time lapse. we started this mid afternoon about 2:30. watch it for a few minutes and then you can see thunderstorm role in just briefly right the there. quick downpour but these were pretty quick moving and they moved out. >> scatter the coals. we're not drying our just yet. certainly better than earlier when we had this nasty storm roll through. reload the lee door here. formed right about here got very up tense over portions of

northern delaware and he can treatment southwestern new jersey and then moved out pretty quickly as well. but still we've got upper low sitting off the coast scattered showers will be around into the day tomorrow and they may be most prevalent down the shore. storm reports from today, half inch hail in east norriton. quarter inch hail in blue bell. norristown and king of prussia earlier today. and temperatures got into the upper 70s so this provided fuel for the storm as they came through. we hit 80 degrees in allentown. what to expect as we go through the rest of the night. a few scattered showers here and there. wake up tomorrow morning to clouds and showers along the coast. most of the day from the city on west especially is mostly sunny. just a couple of scattered showers in the afternoon. so not a bad day tomorrow. best chance for showers and storms is off to the east across portions of south jersey. taste of summer then moves in as we get this cool pocket of air that upper low to move on out. jet stream lifts to the north and warm air invades by the end of the week. temperatures really really
