cbs3 "eyewitness news". well the storms rolled in fast and furious bringing high winds and driving rains to the delaware valley. here's what it looked like over center city today. phillies fans dashed for their cars after the skies opened up at the end of today's game at citizens bank park in south philadelphia. also tonight the cleanup is now underway at the after trees come tumbling down. crushing cars and taking down power lines as well. good evening, everyone, i'm natasha brown. thanks so much for joining us the storms packed heavy winds with gusts clocked at 74 miles an hour in camden county. at one point, there were thousands of power outages but peco is now reporting just a few dozen. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do is live in mull his cal gloucester county night with a look at some of the storm damage there. trang? >> reporter: natasha, you can see how the storm moved through this area. you see this tree here the wind just snapped it right in half.

right behind it another tree with half of its leaves missing and off in the distance two very young trees pull right out from their roots. strong winds and torrential downpours moved through the delaware valley around 6:00 p.m. the storm moved quickly but left widespread damage in its wake. the national weather service gathered more than a dozen reports of damage between delaware, southeastern pennsylvania and southern new jersey. two trees down along 21st street and graduate hospital. one by pemberton and on the by fitzwater street. in delaware county a tree down in darby on darby terrace. across the bridge in new jersey, strong wind gusts brought down trees and power lines just off of east main street in mullica hill. power issues in west deptford with lines down and traffic lights affected. fortunately new york city reports of serious injuries have been reporte reported. we've seen several atlantic city electric crews just canvassing the area. i just check their outage map and it is showing more than

5,000 customers still affected. some may not be restored until well into tomorrow. for now rear live in mullica hill, trang do cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> trang, thank you very much. unless gloucester county, tonight, this is eyewitness cam video of the storm as it moved through sewell. the strong winds twisted trees and also blew the torrential rape across the street as you can see. high winds did some damage to the cow town rodeo in piles grove, new jersey. the rodeo posted these pictures on instagram along with this message. billboard took a hit and the market what a storm. hope everyone is safe. now that the storms are gone, we're hoping at least clearer skies to start the work week. meteorologist lauren casey in our weather center with a first look at the forecast. hey, lauren. >> natasha, incredible storms moving through the delaware valley earlier this evening. our peak wind gusts 74 miles per hour in blackwood and camden county that is a kin to hurricane force. south jersey getting hit the hardest with today.

ing winds. williamstown 70 miles per hour wind gust. clayton 65 miles an hour. pennsylvania included 60 miles per hour wind gusts in collingdale n delaware counsel tears and at philadelphia airport 52 miles per hour wind gust and we did have quite few damage reports mainly some downed trees and downed power lines but in atco, a gay scene would lifted up moved 3 feet and broken apart by some of these strong damaging winds n moorestown, large tree down blocking the road. wires and trees down on cars unfortunately and in pine hill, new jersey, a tree down on home but now we are clearing on out things quieting on down and our severe weather threat has come to an end the worst of the weather well offshore right now. we still do have a few lingering very spotty showers down the shore very isolated in nature right now. putting down light rainfall and a few showers trying to develop up win of the lehigh valley but our atmosphere is pretty stable at this point. severe weather overshadowed the development of a next tropical storm, tropical storm colin form in the gulf of mexico. so we'll talk about the projec

projected path of this system and then the good news, some much nicer sunnier cooler less humid weather coming up in just a few minutes. >> lauren, thank you so much. the phillies season took an ugly turn. first baseman ryan howard is blasting a fan who is now under investigation. howard says the fan threw a beer bottle at him during the game at citizens bank park. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh has reaction from both howard and the fans to night. >> what is wrong with you? >> reporter: those are the harsh words some phillies fans have for the person who allegedly through a beer bottle at first buys man ryan howard during saturday's game against the brewers. >> the guy has given us everything. he's given his heart and trying his best, and it's just totally uncalled for. >> reporter: phillies confirmed they are investigate the incident and police have photos of the suspect which lit up social media as fans shared the photo hundreds of times. >> somebody throw a bottle at him, that's wrong. >> reporter: beyond disrespect phillies head coach pete mackanin shows throwing any object at players is a security

threat. >> that's dangerous for whoever threw that. we can't have that happen. you know, of course, i'm concerned for my player's safety. >> reporter: mackanin also says one person doesn't speak for all phillies fans. >> they like to win. they're fanatical, you know, they know their baseball, but i'm not going to -- i'm not going to put a label on the phillies fans because one bad apple. >> reporter: after saturday's game howard told reporters "i've done too much in this town to have that kind of stuff". on sunday his teammate cameron rupp also chimed in. >> it's unacceptable for anything to ever be thrown at a player from the stands. it doesn't matter weights. it doesn't matter what sport. what the situation is, it's uncalled for. >> reporter: some fans say howard's recent dismal performance hasn't earned him $25 million per year salary. but others say regardless, they'll still be loyal to howard and the phillies and they want the alleged bottle 34 to face jail time, fines and a ban on all future phillies games.

>> everybody goes through a slump, but at the same time this guy is trying. that person who threw that bottle, you can't take it back. it's already done. but this guy is still playing for us, so you made a mistake, not him. >> reporter: 36-year-old howard is batting around won't pound 50 this season. this is the final season every his five-year deal with the phillies. reporting at citizens bank park, anita oh cbs3 "eyewitness news". well tonight the world continues to remember muhammed ali. the legendary boxer died after a long battle with parkinson's disease. cbs news correspondent kenneth craig tells us mourners are arriving in his hometown of louisville, kentucky to pay their final respects. >> reporter: long before muhammed ali became the greatest he can only dream of greatness growing up inside this pink house in louisville, ken can't the home was restored and opened as museum just days before his death friday. >> come folks. >> reporter: ali's childhood friend sonny fishback --

>> my brother. go right in. >> reporter: greeted sisters be shared stories about growing up with the champ. >> we wouldn't believe him when we were kids as he told the same story he told as muhammed ali. no different. same guy. >> reporter: what were those stories? >> i'll be the world champion of the world. >> reporter: boxing legend made his final trip home when an airplane flew his body in from arizona. ali's funeral on friday will be open to the public at a downtown louisville arena. thousands are expected and the service will be streamed around the world. at ali's family church people celebrated his life and mourned his loss. ali's brother broke down in tears. >> he would help you if you could. one of a saints. wonderful man. >> reporter: ali was great in the ring and around the microphone. >> i was floating like a buffer fly and stinging like a bee. >> reporter: it seem the bees agree. thousands of them decided to gather in a tree outside the muhammed ali center in louisville. and right next to the wall that

carries that famous quote. kenneth craig for cbs3 "eyewitness news". well, the search is on for the cause of a fire that ripped threw a commercial building in doylestown, bucks county. take look at oy witness cam video sent in to us. the flames were intense on swamp road this morning. as you can see fire officials say two sweeps inside the beautiful smiles dentist office were damaged. no one was inside the building luckily at the time of the fire. also, tonight police confirm a five-year-old girl has died from her injuries after a house fire in northeast philly. sophie ya olson and her mother critically injured in thursday's fire. she was trapped in her bedroom and her mother couldn't reach her a neighbor who happens to be police officer was also injured trying to help the family. the girl's mother remains in stable condition. also today, marks three years since the deadly center city building collapse. six people died at 22nd and market when a building under demolition collapsed on to a

crowded salvation army store. more than a dozen people suffered severe injuries. the demolition contractor and excavator operator were hymnally charged in this case for their involvement in the tragedy. they are serving lengthy prison sentences right now. an evident is currently underway to establish a memorial park at the site of that deadly collap collapse. a car crash that took down power lines near los angeles is being blamed for a huge wildfire that is still burning out of control tonight. 50 hi foot high flames erupted in the hills of calf calf yesterday. by this morning, more than 500 acres had already burned. and a commercial building had been destroyed. thousands of people have been forced out of their homes and neighborhoods are still at risk. rescue teams in southern mississippi are searching for the bodies of two miners trapped in landslide. the men were operating heavy equipment at a gravel pitt when they were suddenly buried in 12 feet of mud and slush.

authorities believe the pinners did not survive. now there's no word yet op what triggered this landslide. the last big round of primaries will be held on tuesday with new jersey and california offering the biggest prices. hillary clinton won puerto rico tonight, season closer now to facing donald trump in november. she's less than 60 delegates away from clinching the dem matt cat tick nomination. 's vowing to continue to fight no matter the out come in tuesday's primaries. >> if i am not the nominee, we'll fight to become the nominee, it is secretary clinton's job to explain to those people why she should be -- why should she get their support. >> after tuesday, i'm going to do everything i can to reach out to try to unify the democratic party and i expect senator sanders to do the same. >> meantime, presumptive republican nominee donald trump is under fire for highlighting the mexican her taft of the federal judge presiding over a lawsuit against trump universi

barwin worked with other charities to revitalize the park last year. temple football coaches and players loaned gridiron knowledge to philadelphia. led my coach matt rhule they demonstrated proper propermen propermentals. these players as young as five showed up to learn a things or two. looks like everybody had a great time. learned a lot of great technical issues there with football. >> a new jersey man gets shock of his life when his favorite singer crashes his wedding. take a look who it was. bucks county only taylor swift showed up at the ceremony in long beach township. she posted these photos of surprise on instagram and the groom didn't know she was coming. according to people.com his sister set the whole thing up. she serenaded him and his wife with a version of blank space.

>> beyonce concert at lincoln financial field got off to stormy start tonight. fans ran through downpours to get into the concert. which was obviously outside at lincoln financial field. storms did clear out financia financially and tens of thousands came out to see her perform tonight and beyonce returns to the link for a concert on september 29 and lauren we can only hope the weather will cooperate better. >> than this evening. >> cleared out time for beyonce and mother nature. >> let's move on. >> we have strong and severe weather come through parts of the area and numerous damaged reports and reports that rolled out eyes on the tropics with tropical storm and it became june 1st and headed to the gulf around 40 miles an hour projected pass takes it over the florida peninsula late night monday and continuing with the coast lines if you have travel plans during this

time frame and want to take your forecast for the delaware valley not protected and not going to be an issue for us as we head into the week ahead. but issued for us today was a strong storm and heavy rainfall coming through and torrential in responsible sots. we picked up three-quarters of an inch to an inch of rainfall. and rainfall totals in neighborhood network camden pi pigging up 3 quoorters. in association with a strong cold front we have a couple of lights showers trying to form just west of the lehigh valley and up to poconos. couple of sprinkles 34506ing in. now that the cold front traversed the atmosphere is stabilizing so will not support a lot of shower activity as we head to the overnight period. and future weather showing us that tonight. quiet conditions by tomorrow morning. we'll see a good bit of sunshine taking us to the start of the workweek.

overnight tonight gradual clearing mild, bit of breeze west 10 miles an hour and four tomorrow nicer day in store. mostly sunny, less humid, warm day, breezy as well 84. boch average for us. and stepping outside you still feel moisture dew point are still elevated mid to upper 60 60s. dew points are starting to slowly drop off north and west and you key it reflected in the temperature change over the last 24 hours and again as we head into the day tomorrow. dew points will fall back into the middle 50s at times citing pleasant conditions on our comfort index as we head into the week ahead dew points will actually drop to 40s midweek feeling fall like. nice and crisp. rain, cool, 70 philadelphia and 64 allentown and current temperature 67 in lancaster and high temperatures tomorrow are still going to be on the warm side topping at 85 and the

lehigh valley some low 80s down the shore and 84 the high in philly and again lower humidity values will feel more comfortable and keep that low humidity as we heat through the workweek and 82 the high temperature and bit of breeze on wednesday and thursday and temperatures cooler in the middle 70s with sunshine and low hiltty values. friday looks great to end of workweek with high temperature 80. not another formidable rain chance until we head to saturday. >> we need a little break. >> thank you so much, lauren. lesley has sports highlight. >> wake up if you like home runs, the phillies play your type of game this afternoon and how did the union's gold keeper
