pedestrians, in chestnut hill. it happened around 4:15 at the intersection of the germantown avenue and east griffith lane. both were transported to einstein medical center with unknown injuries. allegations are disturbing, philadelphia mother is facing murder charges in the suffocation deaths of her two young children. they were found dead in the home of a relative in miramar, florida. "eyewitness news" reporter joe holden is in frankford right now where he spoke with the suspect's devastated relatives, joe. >> reporter: ukee, good evening. sophia hines called this neighborhood home with her two children and husband and other extended family. tonight they live behind me and they are grief stricken. i just spoke to one of those family members who tells me that they are unable to eat and really unable to process all of this. tonight there are really no answers to the question of why. >> he just started smiling and jumping, and this all happened. >> reporter: that is how family will remember seven month-old saint leo hines. florida deputies say his baby

and sister aerial were smothered wednesday by their mother. sophia hines used a bed sheet. anthony singleton is saint leo's older half sister. >> he was all loving. he loved to eat, loved to smile, he was moving a lot especially for seven months. >> reporter: anthony singleton married sophia hines four months ago as they lived here in the frankford section of philadelphia. >> this is hard because this is last thing i expected. this is very last thing i expected. >> reporter: he says there weren't any red flags but tells me he wasn't fully informed of sophia's travel plans. he says he was last told that she was in new york. we're told there were no signs of depression. >> i really can't say what is going on with her head, what is wrong with her but i just can't understand, i'm really confused right now trying to talk but word are not coming. >> reporter: his family left to plan two funerals with questions lingering about what led to this. >> it is so unreal particular

as to how she cher their little girl and can't believe that she did it. >> reporter: at this point police have in the revealed any information about possible alcohol or drug use tonight. sophia hines is locked up facing two counts of the premeditated murder and she's not eligible for bond. we're live from frankford tonight, joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". now delaware county police hope they will catch a break in, daytime shooting. >> a man was shot around 12:30 in the the 1200 block of allison road chester township and is now in stable condition. police do the not have a description of the suspect but they are checking around to see if a camera caught any activity. >> check for video, hopefully we're getting the subjects on video, and take the investigation. >> victim was taken to crozer-chester medical center for treatment. and a huge police operation in berks county nets guns, drugs and 42 arrests. this bust focused on a drug

ring out of reading. sixteen of the suspects are dealers, other 26 are buyers and ring allegedly trafficked cocaine, heroin, marijuana and prescription pills. police have been investigating since january 2014 and they say today's bust send a message to drug dealers in berks count that i police will use every available resource to bring them to justice. a school bus crashed in east oak lane with ten children on board. it happened just after 1:00 this afternoon at broad and chelten. police say driver of the durham school services bus hit a parked pickup truck, took out a light poll and grazed the wall of the restaurant on the corner. parents picked up three children at the scene. the other seven were check out at einstein medical center not far away. police are investigating what caused that driver to lose control. pennsylvania governor tom wolf has asked navy and air force to help cover cost is associated with water contamination at two facility bases in montgomery county. nearly 07,000 people who live near the horsham air guard

station and the naval air warfare center in warminster may need blood testing. the water in both areas, showed elevated levels of cancer-causing chemicals. according to governor wolf, the cost of these blood tests could exceed seven million-dollar. a day after philadelphia council gave preliminary tax, the balance its is not over. mayor jim kenney is happy council is on board with a 1.5 sent per ounce tax. that is half of what kenney originally sought but the inclusion of the diet beverages brings projected revenue close to the goal of 95 million-dollar a year. that money would be used to fund improvement to prek plus other education and recreational programs. but some are not happy, a portion of the money will go to the cities fun balance. >> is there only 4 percent of the entire money that is expected to be raised. it didn't seem like it rose to the level of any type of discussion until the soda companies raised it.

>> it is a breezy day and negative gusty win. we are talking about dew points in the 30's, temperatures in the 70's. it feels fantastic out there. tomorrow looks almost, even nicer, if you take today, and subtract wind and add a couple degrees to the temperature you will get tomorrow which is friday, perfection on a late spring um early summer friday. it can't be beat outside tomorrow. weekend though a few changes. we will take you outside to storm scan three, everything is clear, no problems, high pressure in control, and nice and cool. we have got that nice, breeze from the north and west. even though it has been gusty, it cools you off. get hot out, temperatures in the mid 70's. breeze come through and making it feel a whole lot better. storm scan three is clear at the moment as we widen out not a whole lot, you can see one wrinkle there over portions of the midwest, diving south and east and that will not impact our area that is nothing to worry about that stays south of us for tomorrow. next storm not even on the
